The recently proposed genus Neadysgonia Sullivan, 2010, was preceded in the literature by Gondysia Berio, 1955, a monotypic genus based on specimens without locality labels but presumed to be from Madagascar. The genus Gondysia replaces Neadysgonia and the species G. pertorrida Berio, 1955, becomes a junior synonym of G. consobrina (Guenée, 1852).

To determine the Dysgonia stuposa mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) structure and to clarify its phylogenetic position, the entire mitogenome of D. stuposa was sequenced and annotated. The D. stuposa mitogenome is 15,721 bp in size and contains 37 genes (protein-coding genes, transfer RNA genes, ribosomal RNA genes) usually found in lepidopteran mitogenomes. The newly sequenced mitogenome contained some common features reported in other Erebidae species, e.g., an A+T biased nucleotide composition and a non-canonical start codon for cox1 (CGA). Like other insect mitogenomes, the D. stuposa mito

Among these, the subfamily, Erebinae (20 species), had the most species diversity followed by Arctiinae (13), Lymantriinae (8), Aganainae (4), Calpinae (4), Hypocalinae (02), Eulepidotinae (01), Pangratinae (1), Scoliopteryginae (01) and Tinoliinae (01).

AbstractThe higher classification of the families of the Noctuoidea with a quadrifid forewing (Nolidae, Strepsimanidae, Arctiidae, Lymantriidae, Erebidae, and Noctuidae) is reviewed from the perspective of recent classifications and the distribution of derived character states. On the basis of recent morphological and molecular studies, we propose a more inclusive definition of the family Noctuidae that adds the subfamilies Nolinae, Strepsimaninae, Arctiinae, Lymantriinae, and Erebinae to the subfamilies more traditionally included in the Noctuidae. Consequently, the superfamily Noctuoidea com
