AbstractThe purpose of the work was to evaluate the Fe-chelating activity of freeze drying assisted ultrasonicated hydroethanolic leaf extracts of Conocarpus lancifolius Engl. along with 1H-NMR based classification of metabolites in most active extract. The finding revealed that 60% ethanolic extract was the most active fraction regarding Fe-chelating activity with value of 75.4 ± 0.6% followed by 80% ethanolic extract having chelating value of 69.24±1.02%. The least Fe-chelating activity was exhibited by aqueous extract. The statistical analysis revealed that the Fe-chelating activity by 60%

Keratin-made biomaterials, including feathers, are considered a protein-rich bioresource due to their intrinsic properties, including biocompatibility, biodegradability, mechanical resistance, and biological abundance. Beta-keratin exists as an insoluble stringy protein due to the high presence of disulfide cross-links, and as a result, it is mechanically stable and resistant to enzymatic digestion. Because of this, it is not easily decomposed, and this has made the application of feathers difficult. In this study, after dissolving feathers in NaOH, sodium sulfide, and 2-Mercaptoethanol (2-ME)

Peptides produced from food sources possess numerous bioactivities that make them useful in improving human health and preventing diseases. Although many studies related to egg protein hydrolysis are available, little work has been conducted on the production of bioactive peptides from apo-ovotransferrin (OTF) using two-step enzyme hydrolysis. The objectives of this study were to produce bioactive peptides from OTF using two enzymes and to determine their functional properties. Lipolyzed OTF was prepared at a concentration of 20 mg/mL and treated with protease (3 h at 55 °C), papain (3 h at 37

A Fe(III)-gossypitrin complex was prepared with a metal to ligand molar ratio of 1:1; 2:1 and 3:2 by mixing stoichiometric amounts of gossypitrin and FeCl3. The isolated complex was characterized by visual observation, UV/Vis, IR and ESI-MS spectroscopy. In this study, we selected the major flavonoid glycoside present in the petals of the flowers of Talipariti elatum Sw.
