This paper presents an alternative method of producing microbubbles of 2.6 μm mean diameter at concentrations in excess of 30 × 106 mL−1. Tensile tests were carried out on pre-strained high impact polystyrene (HIPS) specimens which had been annealed above 100 °C to heal any crazes formed in the PS matrix during pre-straining.
