Samarbetet med TT Nyhetsbyrån, som ligger till grund för arbetet, förutsätter att en informationsgrafik om rökningens historia gestaltas, vilket sker i samband med att den nya tobakslagen träder i kraft 1 juli 2019. Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur utformning av bildmanér kan påverka den historiska kopplingen till en illustration, samt undersöka om detta kan bidra till en upplevd utveckling av tid. Målet med undersökningen är att utforska om det är möjligt att skapa en ”tidslinje” utan linje, med hjälp av manér.Genom datainsamling och teorier inom semiotik, visuell retorik, kognitiv visualisering och perception, samt tidigare erfarenheter inom utbildningen Informativ illustration, utformades koncept- och gestaltningsförslag. Metoder som brukats i arbetet är bildanalys och utprovning, vilket tog form utav en surveyundersökning. Den förstnämnda genomfördes för att få en inblick i hur gestaltningarnas manér bör se ut för att skapa en tillhörighet till dess specifika tidsperiod. Den nästnämnda genomfördes för att undersöka om målgruppen upplever illustrationernas koppling till de tänka tidsperioderna , samt undersöka om målgruppen anser att illustrationerna i samverkan bidrar till en historisk utveckling.Resultatet av undersökningen påvisar att manér kan bidra med en historisk koppling, däremot anses de illustrationer med ett mer utmärkande manér enklare att avläsa. Det framkom även att bildobjekt och föremål, likt kläder och smycken, är bidragande vid förståelse för illustrationens historiska tillhörighet. Likaså kan manér bidra med en upplevd historisk utveckling, varpå 96 procent av enkätens deltagare anses uppfatta detta.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe late work of Ernst Troeltsch (1865-1923) is underpinned by his project to develop a ‘cultural synthesis of Europeanism'. Although this project remains unfinished due to Troeltsch's sudden death on February 1st 1923, it is nevertheless described in numerous writings, albeit in fragmentary form. This dissertation sets out to reconstruct its fundamental intention, analysing it particularly from the perspective of the history of ideas. On the one hand, it examines the socio-political, intellectual and philosophical context of ‘crisis' in which this project emerged and in which it could be thought of by its author as a ‘solution': the challenges posed by the defeat, the democratization of Germany, the crisis of historism, the need to overcome the myth of the Sonderweg, etc. It then seeks to situate it in relation to other competing proposals, such as Oswald Spengler's ‘decline of the West' and Max Scheler's ‘cosmopolitanism of cultural circles'. On the other hand, it aims to understand the nature of the conceptual object that is the ‘cultural synthesis of Europeanism' by analysing more specifically the relationship between its two constituent poles. To achieve this, it examines the ‘cultural synthesis', the method used to construct it, the subject responsible for implementing it, as well as its content, taking as a guiding thread the role played in their determination by ‘Europeanism' and, correlatively, by Christianity, its Doppelgänger. It ensues from the overall reflection that Troeltsch's late project can be conceived as a critical hermeneutics and a ‘teleology of the will', which is committed to an ethic of Europeanism based on both the personalistic metaphysics of Christianity and the figure of the Complexio oppositorum, understood as the unity of heterogeneities

Pełny tekst źródłaThis work studies the development of the historiography of the Federal Republic of Germany and more specifically the gradual pervasiveness of the new social history in the light of a complex relationship that historians from the Federal Republic have maintained with historicism and the German historical tradition. We shall try to demonstrate to what extent renewed research methodologies have accompanied the emergence of different interpretations of the national history and the German Sonderweg. We shall equally shed a more specific light on the question of the continuity of German historiography across the Weimar Republic and the Federal Republic era. Based on these grounds, the first part of our work provides an insight into the influence of Hans Rosenberg and Eckart Kehr, which prevailed over the community of historians in West Germany during the 1960’s, after they broke up with the doctrine of history of ideas theorized by Friedrich Meinecke, well before the end of the Republic of Weimar. The second part studies the role played by structural history in the transformation of German historiography after the Second World War and the formation of the new social history. Critical social history, whose emergence in the late 1960’s, through the decisive impetus of Hans-Ulrich Wehler and Jürgen Kocka, was nonetheless confronted to the criticisms from the Cultural Studies and cultural history: in the third part, we shall show how the opposition between these two academic orientations has resulted in a renewed reflection on the specificities of German history and the re-questioning of the heuristic value of Sonderweg

Control over historical documentation has long served as a power tool for great men, where the victor wrote history as he or she wanted to. But history has never been exclusive to those who hold power - on the contrary, history is a central part of each individual's life, whether it is true or false. It gives an understanding of why the world looks as it does, gives the identity, related and confirms the origin as well as inspire the epic hero tales that are not always completely true. Within school, the Swedish National Agency for Education instructs that:
The subject aims to stimulate students' curiosity and desire to broaden their world in a time dimension. [...] It also aims to develop critical thinking and an analytical approach as a tool to understand and explain society and people's lifestyles. This enhances the ability to be critical both for the historical sources for the texts and other media in our time.[1]
Just the question of what is true and invented has always been important to historians, of which the central concept of source criticism. However, the truth has never been the operator of an epic hero story forward - something they often see in Hollywood films and other popular culture where the story adorned and adjusted to best appeal to the audience. That history is the basis for the epic masterpiece, however, nothing that occurred with the birth of Hollywood films. Already during the Middle Ages, the Norwegian King Sverre, who died at the beginning of the 1200's, said that "the lying sagas were the funniest."
Sverre was not alone in experiencing the untrue tales as the funniest. Previous research argues that the majorities of the school’s students share his view and would prefer popular culture as an alternative of solid historical documentation. The dilemma with this is that school requires that students must develop critical thinking and create a picture of human history that is correct, which in turn requires one to take on reliable sources, who unfortunately are not always perceived as particularly amusing. Popular culture, however, has no requirement to be historically accurate, something that contributes to the creation of historical myths among some pupils.
This study therefore aims to increase the understanding of how teachers and students relate to historical sources and popular culture that uses a historical background to weave fiction. The study confirms previous research concerning students 'and teachers' approach to history in terms of historical sources and popular culture, historical links. The study also shows that the difference within students and teachers attitudes in many cases can lead to negative results in which students lose interest of history - as well as some students find the teacher's broad historical knowledge stimulating. Finally, the study shows, based on empirical data collected (with support from previous research) why popular culture with historical themes are relevant to history teaching, and how the same popular culture can be implemented in teaching.

Historia har alltid varit en lära som besuttit flera kvalitéer. Kontrollen över historiedokumentering har länge fungerat som maktredskap för stormän, där segraren skrivit historien som han eller hon önskat att den ska se ut. Men historia har aldrig varit exklusivt för de som håller makten - tvärt om; historia är en central del av varje individs liv, vare sig den är sann eller falsk. Den skänker en förståelse för varför världen ser ut som den gör, ger identitet, hänför och bekräftar ursprung likväl som den inspirerar med storslagna hjältesagor som inte alltid är helt sanna. Inom skolan instruerar skolverket att:
Ämnet syftar till att stimulera elevernas nyfikenhet och lust att vidga sin omvärld i en tidsdimension.[…] Syftet är också att utveckla ett kritiskt tänkande och ett analytiskt betraktelsesätt som redskap för att förstå och förklara samhället och människors levnadsmönster. Detta gynnar förmågan att stå kritisk såväl inför historiska källor som inför texter och andra medier i vår tid.[1]
Just frågan gällande vad som är sant och påhittat har alltid varit viktig för historiker, därav det centrala begreppet källkritik. Dock har sanningen aldrig varit det som driver en episk hjältesaga framåt - något som ofta syns i Hollywoodfilmer och annan populärkultur där historien smyckats och anpassats för att bäst tilltala publiken. Att historia ligger till grund för episka mästerverk är emellertid ingenting som uppstod med Hollywoodfilmernas födelse. Redan på medeltiden skall den norske konungen Sverre som dog i början av 1200 talet ha yttrat att ”lögnsagorna var de roligaste”[2].
Sverre var emellertid inte ensam om att uppleva lögnsagorna som de roligaste. Tidigare forskning hävdar att majoriteten av skolans elever delar hans uppfattning och föredrar sådan populärkultur framför gedigen historiedokumentation. Dilemmat med detta är att skolan ställer krav på att eleverna skall utveckla ett kritiskt tänkande och skapa sig en bild av mänsklighetens historia som är korrekt, någonting som kräver att man tar till sig tillförlitliga källor som olyckligtvis inte alltid uppfattas som särskilt roliga. Populärkulturen har emellertid inga krav på sig att vara historiskt korrekt, någonting som bidrar till historisk mytbildning hos vissa elever.
Denna studie ämnar således öka förståelsen för hur lärare och elever förhåller sig till historiska källor och populärkultur som använder sig av en historisk bakgrund för att väva fiktiva berättelser.
Studien bekräftar tidigare forskning gällande elever och lärares förhållningssätt till historia vad gäller historiska källor och populärkulturens historiska länkar[3]. Studien visar även att skillnaden i elever och lärares förhållningssätt i många fall kan leda till negativa resultat där elever tappar intresse för historia - likväl som att vissa elever finner lärarens breda historiska kunskap stimulerande. Slutligen redovisar studien, utifrån den empiriska data som samlats in med stöd från tidigare forskning varför populärkultur med historiskt tema är relevant för historieundervisning, samt hur denna populärkultur kan implementeras i undervisningen.

Manuscripts from the Speculum, that were particularly destinated to monastic and urban studia, show few miniatures. On the contrary, French manuscripts contain the rich iconographic cycles that uphold their commissioners' interests. The copies presented to Queen Jeanne de Bourgogne and King Charles V show respectively the legitimacy and continuity of the royal power of the Valois, and glorify their autonomy in relation to the Germanic emperor. In the following century, the Miroir of Jacques d'Armagnac reveals his feudal reactionary attitude against social change The manuscripts of Louis de Bruges can be seen as a reflection of the historical culture of the Burgundian milieu. Pełny tekst źródłaWe suggest reading Georg Simmel's work as an endeavor to determine an idea of culture that is suitable to a modernity dominated by objectivation and functionalization processes, and where one can observe the "discrepancy" between the "subjective culture" and the "objective culture". Simmel is not only a Kulturkritiker, who would merely describe this problem, he is also a philosopher of culture, who seeks to determine the ontological and axiological structure of the problem and solve it. This effort appears as the fulfillment of a theoretical program known as "relativism", which we rename "philosophical relationism". This relationism, after having accounted for the specific validity of the cultural formations - within the form of a theory of value and objective spirit -, aims at promoting it to a second order validity, individual and alive, that is: to the form of individual culture. Thus, relationism constitutes itself as a "cosmic concept" of philosophy, which doesn't take the form of a system, but that of a functional metaphysics, while the static opposition between the subject and the object is outmatched towards an "objectivation of the subject" and a "desubjectivation of the individual"

Pełny tekst źródła“Your sound is my sound is our sound.” - Brandon Labelle(2010) All the sounds in our surroundings contribute to a lot of different acoustic sound ecologies, from natural sounds in a natural acoustic environment that consist of the sounds of animals, winds and changes in the weather. To sound artificial created by us people, through musical songs & arts, advertising, TV & other common activities like conversations, work sounds & sounds from mechanically-creating devices used in industry & society. This sound environment we all live in we call for soundscapes. The purpose of this work is to investigate the importance of sound for understanding our history, focusing on local history. The candidate's work consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. To the theoretical part I have used a literature study, where I used articles, both scientific and relevant newspaper articles on the subject to get facts and analyze my questions. For the practical part, I have made an audio environment that consists of original recordings and modified sounds. I have shown how an audio migration can help and be an important complement to gaining a deeper understanding of our local history. My choice to make a soundtrack over Hestras history fell naturally, as it is my hometown.

Pełny tekst źródłaThe thesis invesitgates the question, if the historians of the socialist GDR may be seen as successors of the traditional german „Historismus“ of the pre-war era. I focused on the „Fachrichtung Geschichte“ of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and portraied the work of historians such as Alfred Meusel, Joachim Streisand, Eckhard Müller-Mertens and Kurt Pätzold. The extend to that Joachim Streisand used german national history to legitimise SED-dictatorship of his present was surprising. He used history as a means for political ideology and – as suprising files in BsTU-archives show – used his position at the university to spy for the ‚Stasi‘ (Minsterium für Staatssicherheit). In contrast to this story a number of historians emphasised research founded on sources and tried to keep some independece from SED-politics. A longer portrait of the thesis deals with medievalist Eckhard Müller-Mertens, who explored new methods in the analysis of the medieval ideas of the „Reich“. Müller-Mertens used the label „materialistischer Historismus“ to characterise the scientific tradition, in that he wanted to be seen. After all, the history of this part of the GDR proves the „Widersprüchlichkeit“ (being contradictory), that constituted this dictatorship.

Pełny tekst źródłaOur dissertation investigates the position in, and function of, the german philosopher Erich Rothacker (1888-1965) within the philosophical and scientific fields of his time. It traces the developments in Rothacker’s intellectual politics from the Weimar Republic into the post-war world – a development that can be interpreted as a process of redefining his conservative historicism within the framework of changing historical contexts. While his work was guided by the aim of promoting a polemic and ideologised paradigm of historicism at the time of the Weimar Republic, Rothacker, faced with the national-socialist regime, subsequently redefined this historicism after a period of enthusiastic endorsement with the National-Socialists. Rothacker’s historicism thus gradually developed (though not without remnants of ambiguity) into a purely epistemological paradigm, stripped of all ideology. As a consequence of this development Rothacker succeeded in the post-war era in influencing the thought of several of his students who were to become well-known intellectual figures, such as Jürgen Habermas, Karl-Otto Apel and Hermann Schmitz. Besides offering answers to some questions concerning Rothacker that remain unanswered in critical discourse to this day – such as his relationship to Nazism, or his role within the theoretical field of his time – our analysis provides a picture of two phenomena transcending Rothacker’s own person: the deradicalization of German intellectual conservatism in the course of the twentieth century, and the persistence of historicist thought in post-war Germany despite the ostracism that this tradition was subjected to in the decades following the war

Pełny tekst źródłaThis work aims to situate, in a sociological and historical way, some questions linked to factors that constitute our occidental modernity. The archeological prospect used in this work aims to display a certain number of ideological links with the juxtaposition of the linear and the synchronic, of the historic and the contemporary, but also of the institutional and the ephemeral. It allows us to follow what foucault called "transformations" where as the language of modernity talk about logical stages of a progress which he defines as continuous, and about an historical causality in a way inevitable. To another level, we also examine the position of the contemporary sociological literature in relation to this language. A very special attention is raised about the different orientations claiming to belong to the postmodernism, from m. Maffesoli to j. F. Lyotard, and it is aloso raised about the approach of a socio-anthropological type, with some authors like g. Balandier or m. Auge. From the advanced art of the interwar period to hedonist practices of nowadays, we have tried to show the antagonism of the sovereign ego and the "body-machine", the one of the erratic pulse and the rationalization. We have also tried to give a concept, in their symbolic dimension as well as their technical dimension, the recombinings of the present time wich affect the sphere of the private and the public one, but also the field of the expressing of the real and the one of the fiction, the one of the information and the one of the entertainment. At last, through this analysis, we also examine the continuity of the reactionary thought, its most unexpected extensions

´This study aims to investigate the theory of the history of Romanian philosopher and historian Alexandru Dimitrie Xénopol from their articles published in the Revue Historique Synthèse between the years 1900 and 1914. Xénopol developed a theory of history based on its own classification of the sciences, where the characterization of facts formed the basis for a definition of the scientific character of the story, as a particular science where the notion of time owned a primary importance. Your requirement historicization of historical facts at a given time and place has consequently a greater emphasis on categories of change, evolution, development and transformation, these categories constitute a crucial dimension, the one that would interest will analyze the historical facts by history science.
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo investigar a teoria da história do filósofo e historiador romeno Alexandru Dimitrie Xénopol, a partir de seus artigos publicados na Revue de Synthèse Historique entre os anos de 1900 e 1914. Xénopol desenvolveu uma teoria da história baseada em uma classificação própria das ciências, onde a caracterização dos fatos serviu de base para uma definição do caráter científico da história, como uma ciência particular onde a noção de tempo possuiu uma importância primordial. A sua exigência de historicização dos fatos históricos a uma determinada época e lugar tem por consequência uma maior ênfase nas categorias de mudança, evolução, desenvolvimento e de transformação, tais categorias constituindo a dimensão primordial, a única que interessaria á analise dos fatos históricos pela história ciência.

Pełny tekst źródłaThis thesis was carried out to study tensile strength in pine dowels and cut nails in historical wooden joints. Today no standard of calculations for joints with pine dowels or cut nails exists. By performing tensile tests in combination with calculations according to both Swedish and international standard, the suitability of different formulas will be graded. The results show that the formulae have a tendency to underestimate the dowels probable tensile strength, although some of them could be applied according to what this study has shown. Further the behavior and strength between different diameter sizes and wooden parts vary unreliably since a greater dowel size didn’t always lead to a higher tensile strength. The same type of failure appeared in all of the joints.
