The PhD thesis’s aims was to investigate some theoretical and practical aspects of water irrigation used in small- and large-scale field tests. The first study analyzed the effect of the incident rainfall redistribution due to corn canopy and the effect of micro-variability of soil’s hydrological process at the row scale. Results of this study showed that the mean of throughfall and stemflow was 24% and 76% respectively, while the ratio stemflow/throughfall decreases during rainfall increases as logarithmic function.
