Chronicle of John of Nikiu is a vast historical compilation, a monument of early Byzantine historiography. It represents the General history, that traditionally for this literary genre starts from the Bible history and concludes indeed by description of Arabic conquest of Egypt where it was created at the end of the 7th century AD by John, Bishop of the city of Nikiu.
