Battery electricity storage systems (BESS) find their application more frequently in present distribution networks because of intermittent penetration of solar cells and wind farms (distributed generation, DG). When consumption is lower than production BESS charge and discharge otherwise. In night hours and when there is no wind BESS can produce elecricity instead of renewables.
