Two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC) is commercially available and has become increasingly common in laboratories across the world. Most 2D-LC systems that are coupled to mass spectrometry use one mass spectrometer attached to the outlet of the second dimension, and the first dimension is reconstructed by “stitching together” the signal from all of the modulation periods.
