Relevance: Double-strand DNA breaks are the most dangerous DNA damage. Analysis of foci of phosphorylated histone protein H2AX (γH2AX) is currently the most sensitive method for detecting DNA double-strand breaks. This protein modification can become a biomarker of cellular stress, especially in diagnosing and monitoring neoplastic diseases. In this study, we utilized novel pattern recognition algorithms on the AKLIDES® platform to automatically analyze immunofluorescent images of γH2AX foci and compare the results with visual scores. The place of compression ultrasound elastography in the diagnosis of diseases of the breast has been determined. 122 aged women with breast pathology were examined: 38 (32 %) patients with breast cancer, 84 (68 %) women with benign pathology. Data was received indicating a high degree of correlation between the density of formation and the nature of structural changes in the breast tissue. Malignant diseases were characterized by a high degree of tissue stiffness, which was reflected in the compression elastogram in the form of mapping in blue tints. Benign tumors were mapped in green or red.

A study involving 73 patients with early breast space-occupying diseases (41 malignant, 32 benign) utilized 1.5T quantitative dynamic enhanced magnetic resonance imaging to measure lesion-specific parameters. These included the contrast medium’s transfer rate from intravascular to extravascular (Ktrans), return rate to blood vessels (Kep), and tumor vessel volume fraction (Vp). Pathological results post-surgery served as the gold standard. Comparisons between benign and malignant groups, as well as malignant subtypes, were made. AbstractThere are rare benign diseases that can mimic malignant breast neoplasms in the clinical exam and in mammography. We evaluated the contribution of an accessible procedure to most clinicians, the fine-needle aspiration cytology, to identify a rare mimicker of malignant breast neoplasms. A type 2 diabetic 85-year-old female presented with a 6-month history of a left breast lump. The physical exam and mammography were compatible with breast cancer. Nevertheless, after fine-needle aspiration cytology, the diagnosis was plasma cell mastitis. Once this rare diagnosis was established, the tum

Abstract. Breast cancer is one of the most common and urgent healthcare issues. For primary diagnosis and clarification of the diagnosis of breast cancer specialists use most often such methods of breast examination as examination and palpation, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, radionuclide examination of the mammary glands. Radiologists and mammalogists-oncologists face an important task of early detection of various forms of breast cancer, which enables to improve significantly the disease prognosis, as this is a priority.
