Recent molecular studies (Greenberg & Donoghue 2011, Dillenberger & Kadereit 2014) clearly demonstrated that the genus Minuartia Linnaeus (1753: 89) (Caryophyllaceae Juss.) is highly polyphyletic and the taxa previously placed in that genus (e.g., McNeill 1962, Halliday 1993) represent several distinct phylogenetic lineages less related to each other than to some other readily recognized Caryophyllaceae genera. As a consequence, many taxa, which were earlier treated in Minuartia, should be now placed in several distinct genera. Dillenberger & Kadereit (2014) proposed to recognize w

Sabulina basaltica and Sabulina sororia (Caryophyllaceae) are described as new species endemic to Washington State, U.S.A. Sabulina basaltica is restricted to high-elevation, basalt rocks in the northeastern Olympic Mountains, and Sabulina sororia to high-elevation, dunite rocks of the Twin Sisters Range in the North Cascade Mountains. Both were previously confused with Sabulina rossii (formerly called Arenaria rossii or Minuartia rossii). Their recognition as distinct species is supported by morphological and molecular characters and disjunct geographic distributions. Both are illustrated, ma

Streszczenie:
The Canadian Arctic Archipelago is a vast region of approximately 1,420,000 km2, with a flora characterized by low species diversity, low endemicity, and little influence by alien species. New records of vascular plant species are documented here based on recent fieldwork on Victoria and Baffin Islands; additional records based on recent literature sources are mentioned. This paper serves as an update to the 2007 publication Flora of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, and brings the total number of vascular plants for the region to 375 species and infraspecific taxa, an increase of 7.
