Studies were carried out with neem stones to trace the influence of moist storage on storability of stones at ambient conditions. The study expressed that sand medium moistened to 10% level with 10 per cent Jalshakthi maintained the higher germination (46%) and vigour index value (992) upto six months. The seed also recorded the lowest EC value (0.607) at the same period of evaluation.

The results of <em>Dianthus hypanicus</em> Andrz. vegetative propagation in conditions of culture in the Right-Bank of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are presented. Different terms of rooting are studied; a number of substrata are tested. It is established that the optimal method of <em>D. hypanicus </em>vegetative propagation is a cutting in conditions of protected ground in moistened sand with use of growth-promoting factor and cuttings prepared in early terms (May &ndash; June).

Abstract The methodological aspects of assessing the toxicity of surface-active substances (SAS) by changing the behavioral response of avoiding the substrate by earthworms Eisenia fetida andrei Bouche, 1972 were studied. The conditions for biotesting were selected, under which the method is more sensitive to the tested pollutants. In this method, 30 worms. placed in a Petri dish with a substrate unfavorable for worms (dry sand). Around it, Petri dishes with test samples of moistened sand contaminated with individual toxicants in various concentrations and their mixtures were placed radially.

The results of experimental studies of the complex dielectric permittivity (CDP) of river sand and powders of the melted quartz granules with narrow ranges of particle sizes in the frequency range from 10 kHz to 20 GHz are presented.
