A principal dynamic of these processes concerns the opposition between ‘ludological’ and narratological theorisations of the computer game. Seventy-six siblings (3–9 years) were individually interviewed concerning their recent conflicts. Analyses compared goals, requests, and voluntary actions attributed to self and other. Children were adept at describing both own and others’ goals, requests, and actions, and these formed coherent hierarchies in which overarching explicit goals motivated actions and requests attributed to each protagonist. Children also recognised the basic opposition between antagonists’ goals. A majority of explicitly stated goals matched those attributed by both narrators to the same sibling, an agreement rate

The article discusses one of the models of behaviour typical to Lithuanian society in the Soviet period, namely anti-Soviet behaviour, which was particularly characteristic to the cultural elite of the time. It is described as the activity of opposing the Soviet regime, but not exceeding the permissible limits of activities and thus not being repressed by the regime. The article states that such behaviour supplemented the conformance of society (when resistance is understood as the antipode to conformance). In the author’s opinion, the opposition may be treated as the result of the interplay b

Abstract: This essay interprets Nietzsche's statement in Ecce Homo that his is a ““most multifarious art of style”” as an allusion to Demosthenes' reputation as the perfect orator. Nietzsche does so as a way of signaling that his own ““art of style”” positions him as the modern heir to this ideal. Nietzsche's account of his style has to be read as a polemical and radical intervention in the old battle between philosophy and rhetoric, one that aims to deconstruct the opposition between them rather than to assert the legitimacy of one over the other.
