This study focuses on the success factors of a Hungarian business university, highlighting an important pillar among the success criteria: a coherent and market-oriented organisational culture that can adapt to the changing conditions including transitions and sustainability-related challenges. Our research question is to what extent organisational culture helps or hinders market-oriented organisational behaviour, and to what extent it supports an organisation's success in higher education. Through the example of the Budapest Business University (BBU) the study shows how Cameron-Quinn's organi

This reflective paper proposes a research agenda that investigates and questions how and if we need to assess the service design tools and their usability in the context of organisations’ design maturity. Maps and tool in the service design toolbox are perceived as straightforward by some organisations, however for organisations with low service design maturity such tools can pose challenges in how to utilise and leverage their potential. As a direction for future studies, this research agenda sheds light on how common service design tools are affected by organisational usability and maturity.

Knowledge is an essential organisational asset that contributes to organisational effectiveness when carefully managed. Knowledge sharing (KS) is a vital component of knowledge management that allows individuals to engage in new knowledge creation. Until it’s shared, knowledge is considered useless since it resides within the human brain. Public organisations specifically, are more involved in providing and developing knowledge and hence can be classified as knowledge-intensive organisations. Scholarly research conducted on KS has proposed a number of models to help understand the KS process b

In 2015, we published a report which sought to identify the core factors which lead to project success. These conditions, subject to the situation and the judgement of the project professional, can be implemented with any project, programme or portfolio and help to best ensure project success. However, despite widespread usage we identified at the end of this research that dynamic conditions at the organisational, professional, and socio-economic levels existed that could help to shape successful project-based organisations. With this in mind and through a commissioned tender we sought with th

A Human and Organisational Factors (HOF) approach to project planning and design aims to improve decisions by anticipating the consequences of technical and organisational choices on the human activity that will take place in future operations. To foster efficient and safe work, the HOF approach is based on in-depth analysis of human activity in existing situations combined with simulation of probable activity in future operations, based on planned technical and organisational choices. The approach requires project owners to express their requirements clearly, good coordination with design and
