Streszczenie:
Fascination with petrified wood has stimulated interest in understanding the process of natural petrifaction. Early attempts of modeling natural petrifaction in the laboratory have been limited to mimicking incipient permineralization resulting in the creation of silica casts of pore spaces and inner cell walls. Silica lithomorphs produced through artificial silicification provided a possible avenue for studying microstructure of wood. More recently artificial petrifaction is motivated by the goal of creating advanced ceramic materials for engineering applications. The concept of using wood as a biotemplate has led to the creation of porous ceramics by cell wall replacement. To some extent artificial and natural petrifaction processes are comparable; although, some of the materials and procedures used in the laboratory are not found in nature. Research focused on the composition and structure of fossil wood from different-aged deposits is compared with research focused on the development of wood-templated porous ceramics. Differences and similarities in the pathways of natural silicification and creation of biomorphous ceramics are discussed. The comparison between artificial and natural silicification highlights the particular significance of the degree to which (de)lignification is needed for silica permeation.

Legends are narratives that emerged at a point where imagination and truth intersect, in other words, where the colors are not clear but gray colors dominate. It is not possible for a legend to determine which point of the truth or where in the imagination, which is more dominant, for a legend at the first moment it is read or listened to. We can immediately believe every single event in the legend, even if they are full of extraordinary things, because they are life and habitable events. One of the varieties that we encounter a lot in legends is the legends with petrifaction motif. These legends, which spread rapidly among people with "exemplary storytelling", make serious contributions to the continuation of the social order with the social messages they give to the society. These legends help the social order to easily process the religious, cultural and social rules to the individuals and place them in their subconscious in order to ensure the social order. In the study, Sakaoğlu's work was centered, and the legends of petrifaction were classified under 10 titles according to the assets that were petrifaction assets, in 7 main titles according to the events experienced by these beings, under 28 subtitles, and under 12 main titles according to the intensity of the topics covered, and 57 subtitles. Each sub-title has been interpreted in terms of the social messages to be given in the legends. In addition, the numerical densities of the legends are also indicated according to each sub-title. As a result, it has been revealed with numerical data that human beings are at the center of the legends about petrifaction with a rate of 85.9%, and social messages are generally focused on people and their mistakes.

Ancient forests comprised an enormous biomass and typically flourished in lowland habitats that offered favorable conditions for fossllization, so it is not surprising that petrified wood is the most abundant terrestrial fossil. His sudden death prevented him from revealing his method: recent studies have disclosed unexpected contacts between Segato and American scientists, who were very interested in his work.

Streszczenie:
This article examines a series of Greek myths which establish a structural equivalence between two motifs, stoning and blinding; the two penalties either substitute for one another in alternative versions of a single story, or appear in sequence as repayments in kind. After reviewing other theories concerning the motives behind blinding and lapidation, I argue that both punishments-together with petrifaction and live imprisonment, which frequently figure alongside the other motifs-are directed against individuals whose crimes generate pollution. This miasma affects not only the perpetrator of the deed, but risks spreading to the community at large, and prompts measures aimed at containing the source of the disease. Both blinding and lapidation are designed to cordon off the contaminant by removing him from all visual and tactile contact with other men. But it is not only the nature of the crimes that explains the kinship between the two penalties. I further argue that the attributes Greek thinking assigned to stones, repeatedly characterized as unseeing, mute, immobile, and dry, and symbolic of the condition of the dead, elucidate the connections and clarify the antagonism that myth suggests between lapidation and sight. Stoning, blinding, imprisonment, and petrifaction all consign the criminal to an existence exactly parallel to that of the stone, stripping him of the properties that distinguish the living from the dead, and making him both unseeing and unseen. Three examples drawn from archaic and classical literature provide examples of these interactions between stones, blindness, invisibility, and death: the snake portent sent by Zeus in Book 2 of the Iliad, the Perseus myth, and Hermes' activity in both the Homeric Hymn to Hermes and Aeschylus' Choephoroe.

AbstractThe goal of this article is to outline a triangular nexus between life, death, and attention. Not only does the act of attending animate or enliven consciousness in the passage from inactional and indeterminate potentiality to the actional determination of a noema but it also coincides with intentionality, itself the form of life proper to consciousness. Upon outlining the “enlivening” element in attention and the overlap between attention and psychic life as such, I will discuss its deadening aspects understood both in terms of the petrifaction resulting from a fixed, attentive, captivated gaze and, more positively, in terms of the potentiality of the inactional mode, in which consciousness lies dormant.

This paper investigates ‘black’ (minority) student experiences and living conditions at an Afrikaans-speaking historically white university, the University of Stellenbosch (SU). It is an empirical attempt to unearth the present conditionality of minority students that make up 14 per cent of the enrolled students at SU. Thus it involves social (under-)development and is a move away from the individual as unit of analysis per se and includes assessment of the social processes that condition a racialized dividing-line between different groups and at once prolong group affiliation/belonging. The main focus is on the following themes essential to the dispute on educational transformation in South Africa: racialized skin colour and stereotypes, access to language and education, and segregated spaces and economic reality. I apply qualitative research interview and utilize the post- colonial approach to argue that minority students constantly encounter the reinstatement of a racialized system of difference that excludes and positions them as marginalized subjects. It is argued that these experiences are due to the corporeal schema and cultural characteristics that delineate membership at SU, which make minority students more resistant and at once more ambivalent about the pursuit of education as a self-realization process, and more importantly an investment for future life, which constitute the main force for almost all of the minority students.

Tert-butyl peroxybenzoate (TBPB), a liquid organic peroxide, has been widely employed in the petrifaction industry as a polymerization formation agent. This study investigated the thermokinetic parameters of TBPB by isothermal kinetic algorithms and non-isothermal kinetic equations, using thermal activity monitor III (TAM III) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively. Simulations of 0.5 L, 25 kg, 55 gallon, and 400 kg reactors in liquid thermal explosion models were performed. It is based on the thermal hazard properties, such as the heat of decomposition (∆Hd), activation energy (Ea), self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT), control temperature (CT), emergency temperature (ET), and critical temperature (TCR). From the experimental results, the optimal conditions to avoid violent runaway reactions during the storage and transportation of TBPB were determined.

ABSTRACT Between July 1925 and March 1928, Bernard Shaw clashed with an attorney called Jesse Levinson over whether any cinematic version of The Chocolate Soldier would infringe his copyright on Arms and the Man. The case charted novel contours of intellectual property rights with regard to “talking picture” adaptation. Shaw would, in the course of preparing for this particular trial, discover that stunning acts of plagiarism had already occurred in the musical adaptation of Arms and the Man, entailing consequences for its prospective transfer to film. Although it caught the attention of the press at the time, the protracted legal dispute receives scarce mention in the scholarly conversation around Shaw’s life and writing. A much fuller account of it, however, emerges from the archived casefile of Shaw’s London solicitors, newly acquired by David Grapes.

Abstract This paper is part of a larger project of investigating the reception of the Accademia dei Lincei at the Royal Society. Perhaps due to the Lincei’s hesitancy to make more use of print, they constituted somewhat of a mystery for the subsequent generations of scientific communities. This is to say that the members of Royal Society were open to or perhaps even actively searching for knowledge related to the Lynxes. In this work, I trace this through a particular case-study in the transmission of knowledge: the arrival at the Royal Society of Federico Cesi and Francesto Stelluti’s Trattato del Legno Fossile Minerale Nuovamente Scoperto [Treatise on the Newly Discovered Mineral Fossil Wood] (1637) and its accompanying lignum fossile specimen. I aim to show how Robert Hooke, early keeper of the Society’s repository, diverged significantly from the initial sense of Cesi and Stelluti: if for the latter the specimen attested for a Renaissance-type continuous chain of being, the former appropriated it in his own theory of geomorphological change and ‘petrifaction’. Throughout this article, I also reflect more broadly on other two related issues: 1. The status of the discipline of petrification during the early modern times; 2. The availability of Lincean sources in England and Europe – while pointing out that much more work needs to be done in order to properly chart the dissemination of the Lynxes’s works. I conclude by indicating that the Lynxes played a key role in Hooke’s genealogical argument on the right use of microscopy.

The seeds of Lower Gondwana are found attached, detached, dispersed and mixed with other organs of being detached from the plants, which produced them. Like other plant fossils, seeds are also preserved in a variety of ways depending upon their structure and the conditions that prevailed during the time of deposition. They may be found as petrifaction or occur as impressions, cast and moulds or as carbonized compressions. Generally, seeds are longer than broad but few are broader than long. All these seeds are platyspermic. There are about thirty-two compressed seed genera are known from Lower Gondwana out of which twenty are described with complete structural details. The structural details and pollination of these seeds suggest that during the Palaeozoic time, seeds of at least three major groups of gymnosperms existed in Lower Gondwana countries, viz. Glossopteridales and allies, Cordaitales or Ginkgoales and primitive Coniferales.

Cellular organic structures such as wood can be used as scaffolds for the synthesis of complex structures of organic/ceramic nanocomposites. The wood cell is a fiber-reinforced resin composite of cellulose fibers in a lignin matrix. A single cell wall, containing several layers of different fiber orientations and lignin content, is separated from its neighboring wall by the middle lamella, a lignin-rich region. In order to achieve total mineralization, deposition on and in the cell wall must be achieved. Geological fossilization of wood occurs as permineralization (filling the void spaces with mineral) and petrifaction (mineralizing the cell wall as the organic component decays) through infiltration of wood with inorganics after growth. Conversely, living plants can incorporate inorganics into their cells and in some cases into the cell walls during growth. In a recent study, we mimicked geological fossilization by infiltrating inorganic precursors into wood cells in order to enhance the properties of wood. In the current work, we use electron microscopy to examine the structure of silica formed in the cell walls after infiltration of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS).

Measuring density of silicified wood and determining weight loss after 450°C heating provides useful data for interpreting the process of permineralization. These simple gravimetric methods do not replace X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, polarized light microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and other specialized techniques for studying fossil wood, but they can be performed rapidly, and require minimal laboratory facilities. Woods mineralized with opal have densities of 1.9–2.1 g/cm3, compared to 2.3–2.6 g/cm3 for wood mineralized with chalcedony or quartz. Weight loss after 450°C heating, commonly described as “loss on ignition” can be used to roughly estimate the % of original organic matter that remains in chalcedony or quartz-mineralized wood, using the density of extant taxa for comparison. For opalized wood, 450°C weight loss mostly represents dehydration of the hydrous silica. Data from specimens from 20 localities reveal two characteristics: 1) silicified woods typically consist either of opal or chalcedony/quartz, not an intermediate mixture of the two silica polymorphs; 2) the percentage of organic matter that remains after petrifaction is usually very small.

Cellular structures of L. johnsonii axes and periderm are preserved in silica—an unusual mode of fossil preservation for Pennsylvanian lycopsid plant remains. The early reports on the Trout Creek lycopsid fossils focused on taxonomic and paleobotanical aspects. Our 2019 reinvestigation of the locality produced many new specimens and a wealth of new data from a variety of analytical methods. Optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive electron spectroscopy, determination of specific gravity, and Loss on Ignition provide details of mineralization. Cell walls are preserved with very small fine quartz particles, and cell lumina are filled with microcrystalline quartz. Some cell exteriors are encrusted with euhedral quartz crystals. These multiple forms of quartz are evidence that petrifaction involved several episodes of silicification. The dark color of the fossil wood and siliceous matrix appears to be caused by traces of dispersed carbon, but 500 °C Loss on Ignition reveals that the fossil wood preserves only very small amounts of the original organic matter.

Abstract A Neogene hematite-goethite concretionary ‘ironstone' horizon in laterized fluvial sediments in the Massif du Sud of New Caledonia yields abundant fossil dicotyledonous angiosperm leaves. The leaves are preserved in iron oxide, mainly goethite, which replicates the morphology and anatomy of the leaf tissues and comprises 73% of the matrix. Organic remains are minimal and associated with aluminosilicate clay. Leaf tissues are preserved three-dimensionally in multiple ways including casts/molds, permineralization/petrifaction, and replacement. Although the mesophyll is less well preserved, reflecting its greater susceptibility to decay, cellular details of vascular and epidermal tissues are commonly evident. Analyses of leaves from an analogous modern setting reveal the early encrustation and impregnation of tissues by amorphous iron-oxides and clays in association with a microbial biofilm. We propose a taphonomic model in which the fossil leaves, like their modern counterparts, were permeated by iron oxides due to the high availability of iron derived from weathering of ultramafic basement. In contrast to the iron-rich aluminosilicate coatings that form in relatively iron-poor settings, the unusually high concentration of dissolved iron oxides permitted rapid anatomical preservation.

Taking the story of Efisio Marini as its starting point, this paper argues that embalming and photography are materially and historically connected due to their chemical nature. Photography and modern embalming both originated in the “chemical complex” of the nineteenth century, i.e., the idea that nature and natural processes could be synthesized in the laboratory. As Ursula Klein and Wolfgang Lefèvre have remarked, eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century chemists experimented with materials, studied the possibilities for improving their production, examined their properties, explored their reactions, and analyzed their composition. Eighteenth-century chemistry, in their words, could be seen as the most authoritative science of materials. Marini’s story relates to this ontology of materials in that it refers to experiments with chemical substances and subsequent changes in their materiality and meaning.

This paper presents a spectroscopic analysis and solubility study of rosin, copal, and Burmese amber samples to reveal the structural changes that occur during amber formation. The infrared spectra indicate that during the long geological process of amber formation, small resin molecules first crosslinked and slowly oxidized, eventually forming a stable organic polymer mixture. An analysis of Raman peak areas demonstrated that among the tested samples, the degree of polymerization is highest in Burmese amber and lowest in rosin. Ultraviolet-visible spectra indicate the presence of unsaturated bonds (e.g., carbonyl groups) or conjugated systems in Burmese amber, copal, and rosin. The evaluation of amber, rosin, and copal solubility in six solvents (ethanol, acetone, 1,4-dioxane, ethylacetate, N,N-dimethylamide, and dichloromethane) demonstrated that solubility decreases in the following order: rosin > copal > Burmese amber. Together, the results suggest that the structure of Burmese amber includes large organic molecules containing six-membered rings along with CH2, CH3, C=O, C=C, C–O, and C–C groups.

This paper investigates the folktale motif, "transformation of human into stone," i.e., petrifaction, in two narratives of different oral cultures; the Mauritian myth of the Pieter Both mountain and the Singaporean Malay iteration of Si-Tanggang. While both stories feature a character petrified as punishment for his misdeeds, the Singaporean retelling of Si-Tanggang makes no mention of a specific location nor geographical feature, unlike the Mauritian folktale and other versions of Si-Tanggang recounted elsewhere in the Malay Archipelago. To discover possible reasons for of functionalism as a folk explanation for natural phenomena by the Singaporean narrative, I conduct a comparative analysis of the two, through a lens of form, Propp (1968), field, and function. The comparison reveals divergences between form and field, in that between Singapore and Mauritius, storytelling as a cultural practice differs in its moralistic, nationalistic and ecological functions. The loss of an explicit geographical link in the Singaporean iteration of Si-Tanggang may be explained by how storytelling in Singapore has largely shed its ecological function. These observations also suggest that structural comparisons of folktales can help further our understanding of each individual oral culture, and in particular, how they have been shaped by historical and sociocultural forces.

Among all the fossils, petrified wood belongs to the most impressive and most common of materials. Still, its study has not exceeded the purely phenomenological level. The recognition of the conserved structure of petrified wood seems to be of meaning for understanding the geological past, the complete carbon cycle inside the Earth, and the structure of potential new materials. The first ever published spatial distributions of the remains of the primordial organic material (lignin, cellulose, pectins) in the cells of permineralized wood, from Dunarobba (Central Italy), are presented here. They were collected using μ-Raman spectrometry. The composite nature of the petrified material (calcite located in the lumena of cells and goethite located in the cell walls) was confirmed by electron, proton, and X-ray microprobes. The structure of the cell walls was well preserved. The mineralization process was induced by the tracheidal water flow and was stopped after formation of pipe-like goethite shielding of the cell walls on the cellulose scaffolds. The chemical (Eh and pH ranges) and probable microbial conditions for such a pattern of mineralization were determined. We estimate that substantial amounts of the primordial organic matter were preserved in bodies of petrified wood on a global scale. The wood petrifaction process, if well understood, can be a basis for the production of “everlasting” organic–inorganic composite compounds.

The tears of stone. Literary transformations of the myth of Niobe The aim of this essay is the study of recreations and transformations of the myth of Niobe and Niobidae in modern Greek literary texts of the end of 19th and 20th centuries. The research of the sources place the poetry in one primary position: a lot of poets (e.g. Palamas, Markoras, Varnalis, Ritsos) and one novelist (T. Athanasiadis) recreate the basic thematic lines of the myth and insist on divisions between life and death, loss and revengeful mania, deadening figure and living impetuous emotion or even more to redemptive petrifaction. As the metamorphoses of the myth of Niobe, at least the most of them, are revolved round the maternal grief and the plea, the focus and the insistence on human insult are cancelled. Niobe - and the poet who suffers along with her – as is not arrogant but just sorrowful, is able, for example, to transform her accumulated grief into love, to search in existential surroundings the revival through the erotic desire or/and thematize the power of art for the achievement of her presence in the long duration of time. From this aspect, a signifying displacement is noticed: by projecting a distressed human existence the divine presence is confined only indirectly, that is from the consequences of the relentless punishment.

Aim. To study the peculiarities of placental structure and the state of utero-placental and fetal-placental blood flow in fetal growth restriction.Methods. A prospective study of 50 pregnant women admitted to the department of pathology of pregnancy with fetal growth restriction followed by a retrospective analysis of the obtained data considering risk factors and clinical course of the pregnancy and the results of morphological examination of afterbirth. For the diagnosis of fetal growth restriction ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound of blood flow in the uterine arteries and umbilical artery, and cardiotocography were performed.Results. The most informative sonographic markers of the critical state of the fetus in case of fetal growth restriction are abnormal blood flow indicators of «mother-placenta-fetus» system (critical blood flow disorder in uterine arteries and umbilical artery grade III, blood flow disorder in the medial cerebral artery of the fetus), and also significant hypamnion and changes in placenta combined with poor results of cardiotocography. Obtained data correlated with the results of morphological examination of aftherbirth. Impaired blood flow and significant hypamnion on ultrasound indicate acute placental insufficiency, suggest poor fetal condition, including antenatal death. Petrifaction, infarction and calcification on ultrasound point to chronic placental insufficiency and compensated fetal condition, and they correlate with more favorable perinatal outcomes.Conclusion. The findings of the study demonstrated that ultrasound, Doppler, clinical laboratory and subsequent morphological examination provide very detailed information about the state of placental structure and need for urgent care.

The proclamation of Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945, marked Indonesia's transition from being a nation as an imaginary community to being a state as a legal-rational community. For the first time, the Indonesian have the authority to form the rule of law independently, apart from the intervention of the colonial nation. The fierce spirit of anti-colonialism was immediately reflected in various legislative products, including the 1945 Constitution. The opening part of the 1945 Constitution, which is often regarded as the highest source of value in the Indonesian legal system, reflects a thick post-colonial spirit. During the colonial period, the legal system was built on hegemony, by placing indigenous people as The Other in their own homeland. They are labelled as third-class identities, under other national groups. This mentality is then tried to be reversed after independence. The values of independence, perpetual peace, and social justice are presented clearly into the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. The Preamble of the 1945 Constitution inherited the anti-colonial spirit and immediately became a manifesto of resistance to colonial domination. However, the process of value petrifaction of the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution should not be considered as complete when that text was announced. The real challenge actually happened today, decades after Indonesia's independence. The injustice and hegemony relation that still occurs throughout the world ideally awakens the Indonesian to continue to contextualize anti-colonial values in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

This article concerns the anthropological inquiry about collective identity of contemporary Belarusian kolkhozniks. The author had conducted her field research (1993-2011) in both west and east Belarus. Source materials consist of about seven hundred conversations with individuals overwhelmingly more than sixty years of age. By analyzing and interpreting their narrative, the author traced the implicit values, norms, rules, basic semiotic dichotomies, and distinctive attributes in search of an unbiased insight into the content, structure, and building process of collective identity of the subjects under study. She concludes that the dichotomies, constitutive for collective identity of kolkhozniks—“peasant” versus “lord,” “peasant” versus “Jew,” and “Christian” versus “Jew”—result in the self-definition of muzhik-kolkhoznik as a simple, hard-working man “from here” belonging to a “Christian nation.” Neither the nation nor motherland, state nor language, belongs to the principal values of this group, which are “working the land” and “faith in God.” As a result of the petrifaction of the old model of the serfdom manor by the Soviet kolkhoz system, in a Belarusian village we presently encounter one of the last European residuals of premodern mentality and social identity. The image of Belarusian kolkhozniks’ collective identity has little to do with the popular category of Homo sovieticus and with the common stereotype of the kolkhoz. The human subject of the author’s anthropological reflection shows up as a person dealing amazingly well with extremely difficult living conditions and the modern, vivid personification of the archaic Homo religiosus.

Osteoporotic spondylopathy (OS) mainly develop in women (7:1), usually in the post climacteric period. The pathogenetic background of the OS is the hormonal deficiency, especially estrogens. OS may be divided as primary (affection of the gonads) and secondary (affection of other endocrine glands). There were studied 32 patients within the age group of 36-72 years with spondylotic medullar ischemic disturbances. The general clinical manifestations of OS are as follows: adiposity, hirsutism, cramps, reduction of height, gibus, horizontal abdominal fold, memory disturbances. The spinal ischemic pathology develops usually in the region of the thoracic – lumbar spondiles at the III-rd stage of vertebral dystrophy with biconcave, tamping spondiles, channel stenosis, ossification of the ligaments and meninges. These modifications compress radiculo-medullar arteries, producing ischemic foci, that can develop as acute forms (spinal stroke type) and slowly progressive (ischemic myelopathy). The acute forms (14 patients) manifest with flaccid para- and tetraplegia, sensory sublesional and sphincter disturbances, Chronic forms (18 patients) develop slowly progressive starting from an intermittent medullar claudication with later establishing of spastic, spastic-atrophic and amyotrophic para- and tetra paresis in relation to the localization and intensity of the ischemic foci. An important role in the pathogenesis of the ischemic medullar disturbances plays the compression factor of the medullar arteries by the dystrophic modifications of the spondiles, petrifaction of the meninges, early atherosclerosis, determined by impaired lipid, protein, mineral metabolism within the deficiency of the sexual hormones. Decisive roles in the establishment of the diagnosis of OS play anamnesis, investigation of the hormones and metabolism, imagery diagnosis of the vertebral column. The treatment is directed to activate the function of the gonads and substitution feminine sexual hormones in small doses, prevention and treatment of vascular ischemic disturbances.

Abstract: This paper aims to emphasize the theme of language in Levinas in its relation to the endeavor of demystification, that is, as a process which Levinas describes as “expression and word”. The word is a possibility of overcoming the anarchy of facts as well as the anonymity of a world without sense. In our perspective, Levinas thinks that the preeminence of Knowledge, as it has been present in the western philosophical tradition, is not free from that kind of petrifaction and imprisonment which characterized the mythical world. Thus, when he refers to a demystification of language, Levinas intends to question the unconditional value of a supposed unity of reason and, at the same time, the danger of a world marked by the challenge of this unity itself.

ABSTRACTAnatomically preserved plants are recorded from calcareous nodules and include Lepidodendron calamopsoides Long which demonstrate for the first time the presence of anisotomous branching, in addition to the normal isotomous branching and details of the stele and the cortex seen in longitudinal section. The nodules also contain Setispora subpaleocristatus (Alvin) Spinner and Lagenicula crassiaculeata Zerndt megaspores. There is an abundant compression flora. Compressions and petrifactions of Tristichia ovensi Long may not represent the same plant and may not be connected to Stamnostoma huttonense Long. We suggest that the compressions of T. ovensi were of a pteridospermous plant with unlaminated fronds bearing small uncupulate seeds and lateral clusters of microsporangiate organs of a new type.

Dictyastrum chestriensis n. gen. and sp. is a seed fern that occurs in the Chester Series (Upper Mississippian) of the Illinois Basin, and is based on compressions, impressions, and pyritemarcasite petrifactions of the stem and frond. The stem has a mixed prostele with indistinct protoxylem, and the larger specimens have a thin zone of secondary xylem that contains many small rays. The inner cortex contains numerous transversely-oriented sclerotic nests, whereas the outer cortex contains prominent anastomosing fiber bundles that produce the Dictyoxylon-type pattern that is frequently observable on compressions and impressions. The petiole is massive, has an expanded base, and forks distally into unequal subdivisions. The distal frond has small pinnules with rounded lobes and corresponds to the form species Sphenopteris stricta (=S. bermudensiformis), which is used for isolated compressions and impressions. Dictyastrum chestriensis belongs to the Lyginopteridales and is intermediate morphologically between Lyginopteris and Heterangium.

The remains of fossil roots (rhizolithes) of two morphotypes (M1 and M2) from Upper Permian deposits near the town of Vyazniki in the east of the Vladimir region are described. In the section, M1 rhizolites are vertically oriented and are represented by several types of preservation: rhizocretions, imprints of the roots surface and root petrifactions. The study of transverse and longitudinal sections of ferruginized root fragments showed that among the rhizolites there are three types of structure of the central conducting beam (stele). On two rhizolites, it was noticed that the places of branch of the lateral roots are located by four rhizostiches, which indicates a tetrarch type of stele for these roots. The discovery of the remains of root systems in an upright position and without any traces of transportation indicate the first stages of primary soil formation. M2 rhizolites are a network of finely intertwined roots. New findings of in situ rhizoliths are significantly complement our understanding the Late Permian paleoenvironments and paleoecosystems in the center of the Russian Platform.

With the consume of traditional petrifaction energy origin such as coal, matelote and physical gas and the increasingly serious question of entire warming, the penetration ratio of wind power in the energy economy continues to enhance. Wind farms are generally built-in areas with strong winds, tough working environments and a high probability of equipment failure. Faults on large grid-connected wind turbines will seriously influence the safety and stability of conventional strength grids. In addition, unplanned maintenance after a breakdown of wind turbines needs a lot of manpower and corporeal resources, which greatly decrease the efficiency of wind strength production and enhance production costs. Therefore, the key to solving the above problems is to quickly and efficiently identify fan faults, which in turn enables accurate troubleshooting. In the article, the malfunction diagnosis of intelligent wind power system based on data fusion is discussed, and it is found that the GBoost algorithm has high accuracy in detecting sensor gain error, sensor offset error and sensor standard error when the Gaussian white-to-noise ratio exceeds 45 dB. In addition, DBN has different diagnostic effects for different faults with different Gaussian noises, at 45 dB and 35 dB, each type of error varies slightly, and the dotted line varies; at 25 dB, each type of error has a large difference. The difference is large, indicating that at 25 dB, this type of error is more sensitive; comparing the state estimation effect makes DLSTM have good adaptability to time series, and also shows that DLSTM considers the system to be reliable enough, and can be obtained by data fusion of the parameters of each system. What is the state of its system, and then take corresponding measures.
