This study compared perceptions of prescribers and pharmacists (N = 89) regarding multiple aspects of prescription drug abuse. Questionnaires were developed to assess perceptions regarding the prevalence of prescription drug abuse, self-perceived communication competence, and additional communication and prescription drug abuse domains. Objectives: To compare pharmacy students’ value beliefs across residency training, fellowship training, and graduate education with research and non-research emphases using expectancy-value theory as a framework. Method: First through fourth professional year (P1-P4) students (N=263) completed the 26-item Postgraduate Training Value Instrument (PTVI) for four postgraduate training paths. This study undertaken in Indonesia, examined how the pharmacist's role could be expanded into medication safety. It explored the feasibility of implementing interprofessional education as a means of fostering interprofessional practice. While also looking at pharmacy students' readiness to engage in interprofessional learning and graduates' perceptions of their preparedness to deliver patient care, a clinical pharmacy service pilot was also conducted to document need. Facilitators and barriers to education and practice change were also explored.
