A framework-based testing approach was employed to evaluate the comfort performance of a plus-size caesarean undergarment design for plus-size caesarean patients in Malaysia. A paired sample t-test was conducted to compare comfort performance across three comfort indicators: clothing comfort, physical comfort, and psychological comfort, at two-time points. The results showed a mean comfort score of 4.48 in the first hour and 4.61 in the fourth hour, indicating a significant improvement in comfort. The statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.000 (Sig. 2-tailed), suggesting a highly signifi

Exoskeletons and exosuits (exos) are wearable devices that physically assist movement. User comfort is critically important for societal adoption of exos. Thermal comfort (a person’s satisfaction with their thermal environment) represents a key design challenge. Exos must physically attach/interface to the body to apply forces, and these interfaces inevitably trap some heat. It is envisioned that thermal comfort could be improved by designing mode-switching exo interfaces that temporarily loosen around a body segment when assistive forces are not being applied. To inform exo design, a case ser

Electroencephalography method was used to evaluate clothing tactile comfort. Physical properties, such as compression, surface and heavy performance, were studied by objective and subjective evaluation. Electroencephalography data were analyzed by Curry 7 and EEGLAB. The results showed that P3 wave could be utilized to evaluate the surface roughness of clothing. When the subjects came into contact with smoother fabric, the latency of P3 wave was shorter and its amplitude was smaller.

A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 198 nurses. We present results of multiple regression analysis identifying some antecedents of nurses’ feelings of comfort with touch, namely, attachment style, worry, gender, and length of service. Worry is negatively associated with task-oriented contact and touch promoting physical comfort. Attachment security and length of service are associated

This study investigated the hypothesis that excessive physical comfort adversely affects mood states generally associated with superior mental performance. This hypothesis was explored in an experiment on office chairs. Eleven subjects evaluated three chair designs varying in comfort for eight hours on three separate days. The subjects performed a word processing task from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Comfort and discomfort were evaluated using the Shackel Scale and the Corlett Scale. Mood states were evaluated using a mood profile survey. The results suggested that the most comfortable chair induced ment
