To describe the presentation and management of three cases of placenta accreta spectrum. Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), first described in 1937, refers to the pathological invasion of placental trophoblasts into the myometrium and beyond. While a strong association exists between PAS and uterine scarring-often attributed to defective decidualization at the endometrium-myometrium interface-this does not fully explain all cases. Here we report three cases of placenta accreta spectrum disorders, two cases with placenta accreta and one with placenta percreta. Emergency LSCS was performed for two

BACKGROUND: One of the principal indications of placenta accreta is pathological vascular remodeling in the region of the placental site. This phenomenon, which may result from various mechanisms, can give rise to significant blood loss in women undergoing cesarean section [2]. AIM: The study aims to evaluate the correlation between different types of abnormal hypervascularization observed on pelvic magnetic resonance imaging in pregnant women with placenta accreta and blood loss during surgical delivery by cesarean section. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 224 patients in the second and thir

Placenta previa and related pregnancy complications are more common in In vitro fertilization pregnancies compared with spontaneous ones. There is evidence that PAS disorders are more common in pregnancies after IVF. Factors leading to a higher incidence of this pathology in IVF pregnancies have not been fully studied. Possible causes are the advanced age of women undergoing IVF, factors related to infertility itself, causes from the biological part of the In vitro procedure or controlled ovarian stimulation. The study of these factors is crucial for clinical practice as it would improve the o

Objective Prior cesarean delivery is a well-known risk factor for placenta accreta spectrum disorders. While primary cesarean section is unavoidable in some patients, in others it may not be clearly indicated. The aim of the study is to determine the proportion of patients with placenta accreta spectrum who had a potentially preventable primary cesarean section and to identify factors associated with preventable placenta accreta spectrum. Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorder is a potentially life-threatening condition which rarely complicates second trimester miscarriages. This report describes a woman who was pregnant at 17 weeks with a history of previous caesarean section and uterine curettage. She presented with hypovolaemic shock following massive per-vaginal bleeding at home. A 180 g fetus was spontaneously aborted, but the placenta was retained in the uterus. After resuscitation, she underwent surgery, during which a morbidly adherent placenta was identified necessitating an emergency hysterectomy. Histopathological

Abstract Placenta accreta (PAS-disorders) is one of the most serious complications of pregnancy, associated with the risk of massive uterine bleeding, massive hemotransfusion and maternal mortality. Peripartum hysterectomy is a common treatment strategy for patients with placenta accreta. Currently, there is a clear trend of changing surgical tactics in favor of organ-saving operations, but there are no studies devoted to anesthesiological support of such operations. The aim of the study is to substantiate an effective and safe method of anaesthesia in organ-saving operations for placenta accre
