Objective. A methodology for facilitating the validation of skin dose estimation programs for interventional procedures is presented. Materials and methods. The methodology uses a series of irradiations stored as DICOM Radiation Dose Structured Reports (RDSRs) as well as reference skin dose values measured in each irradiation. Users must input the RDSRs to their program and compare output doses with reference doses. The authors performed 27 irradiations using two C-arms from different manufacturers. For each irradiation, the authors modified parameters that affect skin dose and measured it wit

Investigations of the interaction of secondary flow with developing, turbulent boundary layer in a rotating square-section straight channel have been done in a new rotating facility with normal hot wire anemometry. The measurements are performed with Re=18391 and Ro=0, 0.116, 0.232, respectively, characterized by the channel hydraulic diameter of 80 mm and the bulk mean velocity. Measurements at five stations distributed in the streamwise direction have been done to study the turbulent boundary layer streamwise development. The mean velocity profiles in both ordinary and semi-logarithm coordin

Abstract Enhancing physical human-robot interaction requires the improvement in the tactile perception of physical touch. Robot skin sensors exhibiting piezoresistive behavior can be used in conjunction with collaborative robots. In past work, fabrication of these tactile arrays was done using cleanroom techniques such as spin coating, photolithography, sputtering, wet and dry etching onto flexible polymers. In this paper, we present an addictive, non-cleanroom improved process of depositing PEDOT: PSS, which is the organic polymer responsible for the piezoresistive phenomenon of the robot ski

Abstract Apple is an important fruit worldwide with nutrition and a huge market value. However, due to the mechanical damage during its handling after the harvest, millions of dollars are lost in the apple industry. Bruise (subcutaneous) is a mechanical damage caused to a fruit without any tearing of the fruit-skin. It could be caused by a mechanical impact, vibration, or compression which the fruit might come across during its handling after the harvest. It results in local degradation of the flesh tissue with browning effect with time. Normally, apple bruises take place beneath the peel and

Streszczenie:
With the development of industry, cooling towers play a very important role in thermal power generation, and steel cooling towers are being used more widely. The surface of cooling towers is covered with profiled panels, and the skinned effect on the mechanical performance and stability of the structure should be considered. At present, most studies on steel cooling towers have not considered the skinned effect. In steel cooling towers, the skin panels are usually connected to members by self-tapping screws., the shearing test of self-tapping screw connection is carried out considering differe
