Introduction: Sprengel syndrome is a rare condition in which the scapula is located in an abnormally high position on the back. This condition occurs due to abnormal musculoskeletal development in the shoulder region during pregnancy. Objective: to verify in the literature which musculoskeletal changes in the shoulder complex are present in children with Sprengel syndrome. Methods: a scoping review of primary, observational or interventional studies will be carried out, as long as they report musculoskeletal changes in patients with Sprengel deformity. Sprengel shoulder is a rare congenital deformity of one or both scapulae that is usually detected at birth. It occurs due to failure of the scapula to descend during intrauterine development and its cause is still unknown. Although the deformity appears randomly most of the time, familial cases have been reported. Sprengel shoulder is often associated with Klippel–Feil syndrome and other congenital skeletal deformities. Anteroposterior X-ray imaging can accurately diagnose Sprengel deformity. The main clinical changes are the hypoplasia and abnormal positioning of the scapula, causing cosmetic problems and limit the movements of the shoulder girdle. We report such a similar case of 6 years old child presenting with high ridging scapula, who had pain, difficulty in caring school bag and cosmetic deformity, He was successfully treated by modified Green’s procedure.

The pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Diagnosis is made in early childhood. Imaging, CT in particular with multi-planar reconstruction, plays a fundamental role in the positive diagnosis and assessment of the disease. Ultrasonography and MRI are second-line examinations. (1) Background: Sprengel’s deformity (SD) is a rare congenital anomaly caused by failure in the descent of the scapula. We aimed to systematically review the current literature reporting data from children undergoing surgery for SD, in order to explore the rate of success and complications of the different surgical techniques, possibly providing recommendations about the management of SD in children. (2) Methods: we electronically searched the literature from Ovid, MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library databases. Demographic data, surgical procedures, outcomes and complications were analyzed. We ca

Quaternary climate and environment oscillations have profoundly shaped the population dynamic history and geographic distributions of current plants. However, how the endangered and rare tree species respond to the climatic and environmental fluctuations in the subtropical regions of China in East Asia still needs elucidation. In this study, we collected 36 natural populations of an endangered and rare tree species Magnolia sprengeri Pamp. in subtropical China to determine the demographic history, and modeled the changes of geographic distributions of this species in East Asia based on the Max

Plectranthus amboinicus (Loureiro) Sprengel is popularly known as malvariço or indian borage. This paper carries out the technological prospecting of this species with an emphasis on its biological activities. The research consisted of an integrative literature review based on information collected from patent and electronic databases. Initially, 3019 results were obtained, which, after the screening, selection and analysis process, resulted in 55 articles and 48 patent documents. It was found that 77.08% (n=37) of patent deposits refer to obtaining or improving the process and 22.92% (n=11) t

Cold-treated leaves retained their fresh appearance with minimal weight loss when stored in sealed plastic bags; although color intensity of the underside of leaves was measurably reduced, the change was not visually perceptible. Similarly, irradiation was associated with a darkening of leaves and a loss of color intensity, but these changes were

The report discusses the species Lathyrus humilis, which is included in the Red book of the Perm Krai. On the territory of the Krai, two locations of the species growth are known. In one habitat, the species has not been recorded in the last 10 years. All herbarium collections of Lathyrus humilis in the territory of the Krai are in a vegetative state. To find out what the plants will look like in the flowering state, plants were taken from the natural environment and planted in flower pots at home. The excavated plants were infect-ed with the web tick and insect pests thrips. To destroy pests,

The liming and mineral fertilization can improve the growth and quality of forest species seedlings. The effects of the application of nitrogen fertilizer rates and limestone on growth and quality of Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert seedlings were investigated in this study. Peltophorum dubium plants were grown in 1.4-L polyethylene bags filled with sandy soil under greenhouse conditions. Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour.) Spreng is the most important aromatic medicinal plant and has antimicrobial activity. This study investigated the major bioactive constituents and antibacterial activity of P. amboinicus extracts. The results revealed that the dominant phytochemicals that might be responsible for its bioactivity are alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins, phenolics, luteolin, and verbascoside. The herbal extract showed antibacterial capacity against the Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strain PB57, with a maximum zone of inhibition. The MIC and MBC values of the extract were found to be 7.8

The recommendations of external authors are analyzed. A variant of a quasi-isothermal pressure regulator is proposed, which assumes the mixing of flows after energy separation. The discrete thin plate spline is a data fitting and smoothing technique for large datasets. Current research only uses uniform grids for this discrete smoother, which may require a fine grid to achieve a certain accuracy. This leads to a large system of equations and high computational costs. Adaptive refinement adapts the precision of the solution to reduce computational costs by refining only in sensitive regions. The error indicator is an essential part of the adaptive refinement as it identifies whether certain regions should be refined. Error indicators are well researched in the finite
