This study aims to examine the Influence of Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturers on the Effectiveness of Trainee Teachers during Teaching Training. The main focus of this study is to identify the four elements of guidance in the Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturers, namely Planning, Implementation, Reflective Practice and Attitude & Personality as well as its influence on the effectiveness of teachers throughout teaching practice. The objective of this study is to identify the level of Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturers and the Level of Teacher Effectiveness. In addition to identify the differences, relationships and influence of the professional practices of supervising lecturers on the effectiveness of trainee teachers during teaching practice. The respondents of the study are PDPP Trainee Teachers of Islamic Education Taken in June 2018, a total of 95 people. The design of this study is a descriptive type of survey that uses a questionnaire instrument. The questionnaires used were the Supervising Lecturer Professional Practice Form (α = 0.87) and Teacher’s Sense of Efficacy Scale - TSES (α = 0.86). The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed according to mean, standard deviation, t-test, correlation and regression using SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS 23.0). that the Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturers (mean = 4.85) and Teacher effectiveness (mean = 4.67) are very high, while there is no significant difference in the Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturers on gender (t value (95) = 0.36, p> 0.05). relationship, there is a strong positive relationship between Supervising Lecturer Guidance with Trainee Teacher Effectiveness (r = 0.78, p = 0.00) .Furthermore, the Professional Practice of Supervising Lecturer is a predictor of Teacher Effectiveness significantly, [F (1, 93) = 88.61, p <0.05] contributed a 48.8% variance (R2 = 0.488) in the teacher effectiveness score.Further suggestions were also recommended including expanding the study variables and using larger data, increasing tkan study population, study design should be detailed such as using Longitidunal and cross sectional study design. In addition, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis needs to be diversified to obtain a more accurate analysis of study results.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon related to PAI lecturer performance that is not optimal yet. The government has issued policies to improve the quality of lecturers as an effort to improve the quality of education through the improvement of welfare. However, conditions in the field show that some lecturers who have received the professional allowance have not shown any significant performance improvement. Some lecturers who have very good competence sometimes not followed by high performance, this is reflected from the results of the lecturer's performance.The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the level of competence and performance of lecturers of PAI in Padang city (2) to analyze efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers in Padang city (3) to find the level of competence influence on PAI lecturer performance in Padang city.This research is a quantitative type with survey method and correlational approach. The population is PAI lecturers at state universities in the city of Padang totaling 30 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data collection techniques used were the dissemination of questionnaires, documentation and literature study. While the data analysis technique used is the normality test Kolmogorof Smirnov method. Test validity using Product Moment Pearson correlation formula. Test reliability using Alpha Cronbach and processing analysis using SPSS version 15.The research findings are: (1) the actual condition of PAI lecturer competence in public universities in Padang city is generally quite good (TCR = 3,93 / 5,00 or = 76,98%) whereas actual condition of teaching performance of lecturer PAI lecturers at state universities in Padang city were in good condition (TCR = 3.81 / 5.00 or = 69.64 %). (2) The efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers according to the authors include: Planning the development of lecturer's performance, organizing lecturer performance assessment, conducting lecturer performance assessment with sustainability, supervising the performance of lecturers as well as following up the results of lecturer performance assessment. (3) there is a significant positive correlation between lecturer competence and lecturer performance of 22,3 %, meaning competence contribute to lecturer performance.Suggested to the lecturers of PAI to improve the competence to produce performance as expected. The various parties who have responsibility to improve the performance of lecturers are expected to give attention to the increased competence of PAI lecturers in order to give a significant influence in order to improve the quality of national education.

This article aims to determine lecturers’ performance in supervising thesis with thesis quality of students of Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training IAIN Palu. This is a quantitative study investigating 285 students of Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training IAIN Palu. who had finished their thesis examinations in 2020 by using proportional sampling technique? The data collection techniques were surveys, observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the performance of the lecturers in supervising the thesis was in good category with an average (mean) score of 79.79 and the quality of the thesis was in the good category with the average score (mean) of 81.16. There is a significant correlation between the performance of the lecturer in supervising the thesis and the thesis quality of the students.

Many articles regarding thesis assessment and its problems have been published for years. The dynamic of the relationship between the lecturers and their students are highly concerned. This paper, in addition, aims at investigating the lecturers’ experiences while supervising the thesis of students. 5 (five) lecturers from English Department of UIN Ar-Raniry were chosen randomly as the participants for this study. To collect the data, an open-ended interview was designed as an instrument to offer 6 (six) questions to be answered by the participants. The result of the interview showed that different strategies were applied by the participants during the supervision process. Arranging specific time of supervising was employed by each participant in order to discuss more details the thesis written. Students’ writing skill, in this case, was one of the issues highlighted that required specific handling. The result also identified the way of the participants deal with the problems arose; for instance, providing extra time of supervision for the students, asking the students to have peer-reviewed session to proof-read the thesis, and many other strategies. During the consultation period of the thesis, the lecturers believed that they built good communication and relationship with their students, which is very important as the encouragement for the students in completing their theses.

One of the requirements for graduating from the undergraduate level for universities in Indonesia is writing a final project or thesis. In order to graduate, of course, it is greatly influenced by the desire and strong spirit of the students and also the guidance of the supervisor. In determining the supervising lecturer, special attention must be paid to the field. Usually the selection of lecturers for thesis supervisors is determined by the study program through a meeting of lecturers in order to determine which lecturers are considered according to the title of the student and in accordance with the research of the supervisor. However, this method is a bit inconvenient and also quite time-consuming considering the number of students is more than a hundred and continues to grow every year. In this study, the thesis supervisor was classified based on the title proposed by the student. The methodology that will be used in this research is the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) methodology whose stages are: Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Preparation, Modeling, Evaluation, and deployment, as well as using Generative Pre-Technology. trained Transformers 3 (GPT-3)

Much current debate about undergraduate student research involves a focus on ‘students as partners’ and co-constructors of knowledge (Healey, Flint & Harrington 2014, 2016). This debate reveals interesting tensions between student freedom and the role of structuring frameworks. Undergraduate lecturers and research supervisors might feel we are in a quandary concerning how far we can help manage a balance between supportive frameworks and the independence that student researchers need to develop. Will the use of the Research Skill Development (Willison & O’Regan, 2006/2018) framework and other frameworks at every step of the undergraduate research journey form a constraint, or an essential scaffold? This paper considers frameworks, scaffolds and the need for freedom and creative co-construction of knowledge to enable successful undergraduate research within the context of final year research and writing at undergraduate third year (UK), honours (Australia) or senior/fourth year (US and Canada).

Student Work Lecture (KKM) is one of the programs in higher education at Banten Jaya University (UNBAJA). Thematic KKM activities, is one form of integrating education, research, and community service activities. The current KKM data processing system is that students come directly to the relevant work units to register and report, Field Supervisors are also parties associated with KKM participants when collecting KKM assessments and their journals must come directly to the relevant work units. The purpose of this research is to design a system for KKM data processing in order to facilitate students, Field Supervisors and other relevant parties. This research development method uses System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. The proposed system is a KKM data processing system that is done computerized and online where students can register and report as well as Field Supervising Lecturers as well as easily collect assessments and journals provided by the system without coming directly to the relevant work units.

Delegative leadership is a leadership style undertaken by the leadership to subordinates who have the ability, in order to run its activities that for a time can not be done by the leadership for various reasons. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of leadership style and supervision of Head of Department toward lecturer performance. The research method is descriptive analytic. The study population of all heads of departments and lecturers amounted to 88 people. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The result of the research shows the positive and significant influence between leadership style of Head of Department toward lecturer performance (p= 0,001), the leadership style of its delegation leadership style has reached a good level where ability and willingness of subordinate have high. Its supervision there is no influence to lecturer's performance (p= 0,292). It gives meaning together with lecturer's performance can be predicted by both independent variables. In conclusion, the leadership style it has a positive effect on the performance, in contrast, the supervision of the department chief does not show the effect on the improvement of the lecturer's performance at the Health Polytechnic of Aceh. Advice, to improve the performance of lecturers then the leader should adopt a leadership style in a delegation manner.Keywords: Leadership style, supervision, head of the department, lecturer performanceKepemimpinan delegatif merupakan gaya kepemimpinan yang dilakukan oleh pimpinan kepada bawahannya yang memiliki kemampuan, agar dapat menjalankan kegiatannya yang untuk sementara waktu tidak dapat dilakukan oleh pimpinan dengan berbagai sebab. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan supervisi ketua jurusan terhadap kinerja dosen. Metode penelitian adalah deskriftif analitik. Populasi penelitian semua ketua jurusan dan dosen yang berjumlah 88 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara gaya kepemimpinan ketua jurusan terhadap kinerja dosen (p= 0,001), gaya kepemimpinan ketua jurusan yaitu gaya kepemimpinan delegatif sudah mencapai tingkatan yang bagus dimana kemampuan dan kemauan bawahan telah tinggi. Supervisi ketua tidak menunjukan pengaruh terhadap kinerja dosen (p= 0,292). Hal ini memberi makna secara bersama-sama dengan kinerja dosen dapat diprediksi oleh kedua variabel bebas tersebut. Kesimpulan, gaya kepemimpinan Ketua berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja, sebaliknya supervise ketua jurusan tidak menunjukan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kinerja dosen di Politeknik Kesehatan Aceh. Saran, untuk meningkatkan kinerja dosen maka pemimpin harus menganut gaya kepemimpinan secara delegatif.Kata kunci: Gaya kepemimpinan, supervisi, Ketua Jurusan, kinerja dosen

This study aims to determine the role and function of supervisors in implementing guidance, and student perceptions of Diploma Degree Islamic Banking Study Program of FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry on the role of supervisors of Practical Work Reports. The population in this study were alumni of Diploma Degree Study Program in Islamic Banking in 2016-2017. The respondents used were student alumni with 248 respondents. Descriptive analysis is used to analyze data. The results showed that in general, the role of the Practical Work Report supervisor produced a very good level of performance. The perception of the majority of student alumni is very good for the performance of the supervisors. Supervising practical work report lecturers are expected to continue to improve their quality in the guidance process, so that practical work reports and students who write these reports have the quality expected by Diploma Degree Study Program of Islamic Banking FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah alumni Prodi D-III Perbankan Syariah tahun 2016-2017. Responden yang digunakan adalah alumni mahasiswa dengan jumlah responden 248 orang. Descriptive analysisdigunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasecara umum, peran dosen pembimbing LKP Program Studi D-III Perbankan Syariah FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh menghasilkan tingkatan kinerja yang sangat baik. Persepsi sebagian besar alumni mahasiswa sangat baik terhadap kinerja dosen pembimbing LKP Prodi D-III Perbankan Syariah FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry.Dosen pembimbing laporan kerja praktik diharapkan terus meningkatkan kualitasnya dalam proses bimbingan, agar laporan kerja praktik dan mahasiswa yang menulis laporan tersebut memiliki kualitas yang diharapkan oleh Prodi D-III Perbankan Syariah FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry. <p><em>Madrasas are Islamic educational institutions that have a major role in developing Islamic education that is growing. This of course cannot be separated from the role of the government which regulates its governance, including by implementing supervision of its implementation as an effort to improve the quality of learning. School/madrasah supervisors have an important role in providing enlightenment and directing schools/madrasas so that they can run optimally. The purpose of this study is to design and develop a model for supervising school supervisors based on a spiritual approach so that the role of supervision is not only oriented to the right or wrong of a job but as a companion who can guide schools/madrasahs towards improvement in instructional based on a spiritual approach.</em><em>In the data collection process, library research methods were used and data collection was taken from the theory of educational supervision and Islamic teaching sources in order to obtain a spiritual-based supervision model that could be implemented in the supervisory activities of school/madrasah supervisors. The draft that has been compiled is then discussed involving experts consisting of lecturers and school/madrasah supervisors who are distributed via google form. The results of this study indicate that the supervisory model of school/madrasah supervisors based on a spiritual approach consists of: 1) supervisory duties as a mandate from Allah swt, 2) supervisor duties as a charity, 3) supervisor duties as the obligations of knowledgeable and knowledgeable people, 4) supervisor duties as the recipient of the baton of the struggle of the Prophet Muhammad.</em></p>

The purpose of this community service activity at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga is to help students become more proficient in managing Preschool Field Introduction Program activities. Students will practice direct observation of school culture, observation to develop competence, and direct observation of the learning process in class during this community service activity. Teachers, staff and supervising lecturers at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga also guide students in carrying out this observation activity so that it can be realized in further activities. The method used in this service uses a field survey method. This program involves school principals and teachers at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga. The results of this service show that students have achieved the indicators set such as observation, attitude and discipline very well with a score weight of 1075.03 with an average score of 89.59.

The Educational Internship Program is a form of self-actualization for those who have received various educational theories ranging from codes of ethics and the teaching profession, classroom learning planning, making learning instruments, classroom management to learning evaluation. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to analyze the implementation of Educational Internships Economic Education students at Jenderal Soedirman University in Senior Highschool and Islamic Senior Highschool in Banyumas Regency in terms of (1) Study Program Readiness in the Implementation of Educational Internships (2) School readiness in implementing Educational Internships (3) Students' readiness in implementing Educational Internships. The subjects in this study were Lecturers in the Economics Education Study Program, students who had carried out educational internships, teachers and students from SMA and MAN in Banyumas Regency which became the internship places for economic education students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling method. The research respondents included 8 civil servant teachers, 8 principals, 7 supervising lecturers, 48 students participating in educational internships, and 40 students who had been taught by practical students. Data was collected using in-depth interview, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) observation and documentation techniques. The results of data collection were then analyzed using interactive model analysis techniques consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, data quality testing, and drawing conclusions. In addition, the data obtained were analyzed using the CIPP model analysis (context, input, process, and product) which is a comprehensive evaluation mode based on its components.

This study aims to raise the perspective of Islamic law on the policy of preventing radicalism at PTKIN in South Sulawesi, which is by dharuriyyat al-khamsah in maqasid shari'ah. This research is qualitative research with a maqasid sharia approach with data collection methods obtained through documentation and interviews. The results of this study found that; First, The stipulation of the Chancellor's Decree regarding the ethics committee and appointing several lecturers from the leadership element, as well as the involvement of senior lecturers providing an understanding of peace and Islam as a religion of rahmatan lilalamin, then supervising academic activities, having strict, active, and consistent duties in carrying out ethics committee sessions, considered capable of preventing radically oriented behaviour. Second, build the image of the campus as a centre for Islamic studies and Bugis culture. Third, to provide room for discussion, both through seminars and face-to-face, especially with students exposed to radicalism. Fourth, make a study of Religious Deradicalization, which aims to prevent radicalism and strengthen religious moderation. When viewed from the perspective of maqaṣhid shari'ah, some of these efforts in preventing radicalism in several PTKIN in South Sulawesi are very important to determine as the main factor in efforts to deradicalize religion and also religious moderation. As relevant to the values of maqaṣhid shari'ah, which uses some of its features, namely universality, the interplay of hierarchies, and openness (freedom of the academic pulpit).

To obtain initial data related to the focus of this analysis, the researchers conducted interviews and documentation studies to: (1) 5 students randomly selected who had followed the PPL which were seen from the background of the study program, motivation, goals and expectations for joining the PLP-PSP. ; (2) 2 supervising lecturers and PLP-PSP civil servant teachers; (3) the head of the study program; (4) deputy dean I as deputy dean for academics; and (5) documentation study of PLP-PSP documents and literature related to PLP-PSP. Validation, evaluation, and revision are carried out to obtain clarity, material quality and attractiveness of the resulting product. The results of this study conclude that the model of teaching materials designed meets the correct procedures and is feasible to use.

One of the demands of the students ' success in learning in College is having a positive attitude towards lecturers so that students are able to build positive interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively with his professors. The number of complaints against the attitude of the supervising lecturer whose dibimbingnya are mainly in terms of communicating makes the background in this research. This research aims to know interpersonal relationships of college students toward professors in the process guidance of thesis. This research was conducted with descriptive method quantitative approach through. The population of the research was all students majoring in Islamic religious high school of Tarbiyah (STAIN) Curup the academic year 2010/2011 who are on semester 8 and is in the process of completion of the thesis. The number of samples as many as 69 people. The data obtained via the question form. The data were analyzed with the help of the program SPSS version 16.0. The results showed that interpersonal relationships of college students toward professors in terms of attitudes towards students appreciate lecturer in process guidance with thesis score tend to be occupied by students on the criteria either i.e. 74.5%. Interpersonal relationships of college students toward professors in terms of loyalty and tolerance attitudes of students toward professors in the process of graduation thesis guidance with a score that tend to be assigned to students on criteria either i.e. 66.6%. Interpersonal relationships of college students toward professors in terms of openness towards students in the process of graduation thesis guidance lecturer with a score that tend to be assigned to students at 60.2% i.e. enough criteria. Interpersonal relationships of college students toward professors in terms of friendliness toward students in the process of graduation thesis guidance lecturer with a score that tend to be assigned to students in not a good criteria i.e. 50.7%. Thus, the overall total score that tend to be assigned to students at enough where the score obtained is 75.08%. Document management for submission of proposals, assessments, and reports on research and service activities at the Research and Community Service Center of the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic is still manually carried out and not computerized. To facilitate the process of implementing, managing research and service management as well as supervising research, service, publication, and evaluation activities, an information system was built using the waterfall method. This system has been created under the name SIMPENDI PHB by involving 9 actors. The result is that the system runs according to the functions of the actors involved. This system was tested with black box and usability. The results of system testing (black box) is that 9 actors involved in this system have been running according to the function of each actor. As for the usability results by involving several actor menus, namely as many as 30 users consisting of 6 managers in related units, 4 users from the assessment team, and the proposer users (lecturers) is a UI/UX score of 86% in the "Very good" category.

Data collection is done by interviewing techniques and documentation. The technique used in data analysis is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation is used to explain the validity of the data by using source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. The results of the study show: (1) The process of formulating the program content is done by drafting the KKN student work program through the KKN workshop. (2) The form of implementation of community empowerment carried out is training in packaging techniques and product labeling. (3) The results of community empowerment are carried out, namely the fulfillment of the basic needs of the community of Tebat Monok Village in the field of Entrepreneurship. We know the lecturer workforce turnover for a university has considerable trouble. The lecturers' rapid turnover will influence the teaching process's stability. To shorten the lecturer workforce's turnover, the university desires to have an effort to enhance the quality of the lecturers' work-life. This research decides to create life's variables, which is a variables aspect for Maranatha Christian University lecturers to resign from their jobs. Using a survey method to get the data, it distributed questionnaires to 150 lecturers from Maranatha Christian University. The data collected were treated using Amos 22 software. The supervision style and job satisfaction variables' correlation results showed 5.33 and the relationship between salary allowances and supervision style showed a precise result. The conclusion obtained for Maranatha Christian University's lecturers, the quality of work-life, appears not instantly to touch lecturers' desire to move their jobs. However, the supervision and calculation of allowance salaries directly affect job satisfaction, although this relationship realistic presently affects lecturers to drop their jobs. The purpose of this research is to provide information for Maranatha Christian University. This research aims to scale down the lecturers' workforce turnover by increasing the quality work of life variables.

The objective of this research is to know the EFL students’ difficulties in writing and finishing their thesis. This research employs descriptive qualitative research. From the result analysis of a questionnaire, there are internal and external factors of EFL students’ difficulties in writing and finishing a thesis. In internal factors are 1) difficulty in choosing the title of the English title, 2) feeling bored, pessimistic, bored/saturated, and doubtful with their abilities, 3) feeling fears or worries during the proposal seminar exam or thesis examination later, 4) having a health problem or down, 5) students’ disability in understanding the systematics of writing a thesis, 6) tending to use online translation tools, 7) having difficulty in using English grammar, choosing the right vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation correctly. The students’ difficulty in writing and completing a thesis shows that the most difficult parts are in chapter 4 (result/findings and discussion). While external factors are 1) having communication problems with supervisors, for example, lecturers are difficult to contact, reply to messages for a long time, or do not reply to messages. 2) having problems with supervising lecturers’ writing, for example, writings cannot be read clearly or be understood. 3) having difficulty in finding references on the internet, 4) there are no complete reference sources and no free access to digital libraries on campus, 5) technical problems on devices such as laptops/computers, 6) having cost or financial problems and personal problems during the process of working on and completing the thesis. 7) students’ surrounding environment is not/less conducive. But, have a part-time job, have a busy life with hobbies or personal pleasures, and have a busy life in organizations both on and off-campus. do not influence them in working on and completing the thesis.

Abstract: This paper aims to find out the response of students in looking at the works of lecturers at IAIN Purwokerto and to know the absorption of students to the knowledge delivered by lecturers who have works (modules or textbooks). The results of this study found that Purwokerto's IAIN students had quite interesting views on the lecturers' works displayed in lectures to inspire. They also want to work by generating ideas, only lacking direction. Students' absorption of knowledge delivered by lecturers who have works (modules or textbooks) is realized through three things, namely through efforts to make their works published in the form of books (joint and single anthologies), publishing works in mass media (newspapers, journals, or magazine), and participation in competitions featuring works. The direction and guidance from the lecturers make them produce creative and innovative power in a race that has strict supervision. In this published domain, the seriousness of the work of students can be tested, besides they will later produce works in the form of a thesis as research at the end of the learning process. A financial management system is essential for any organization to manage its cash flow and keep track of its spending and earnings. Currently, our faculty-student organization, Persatuan Teknologi Maklumat (PERTEKMA), still uses multiple Excel spreadsheets to log in financial records and depend on physical ledgers printed from the Excel sheet to keep track of its accounts. This project aims to develop a web-based system that keeps track of the PERTEKMA association's revenue and spending and prevents inconsistencies between different ledgers such as activity and kiosk ledgers maintained by various executive committees (Exco) members of PERTEKMA. The system's targeted users are PERTEKMA Exco members and the lecturers responsible for supervising PERTEKMA. The methodology used to develop the proposed project is the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. An interview was carried out with two treasurers in PERTEKMA to obtain the requirements, and their suggestions were used to develop and design the proposed system. In addition, an interview session was carried out with two PERTEKMA advisors to collect the system requirements to design the system. The system developed aims to replace the current approach to managing financial records through a centralized online platform.

Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian terdiri atas ketua, pembantu ketua, ketua jurusan, kepala UPT, kepala bagian pendidikan dan pengajaran, dosen, dan mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode observasi, pengkajian dokumen, dan wawancara. Sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, lembar pengkajian dokumen dan pedoman wawancara. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui perpanjangan waktu penelitian, pengamatan intensif dan trianggulasi. Selanjutnya analisis data dilakukan dengan mereduksi, menyajikan dan memverifikasi data. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate information literacy (IL) education in library schools in Nigeria, to establish whether they are in line with international and national library and information science (LIS) standards (“library schools” here indicates departments offering LIS qualifications within higher education institutions). The study used document analysis and qualitative methods. First, departmental documents from heads of department and students’ handbooks containing the LIS curriculum were collected from thirty (30) library schools in Nigeria and analyzed. Secondly, lecturers in the department of LIS from the thirteen (13) library schools offering an IL course were engaged in an interview. The study revealed a significant improvement compared to previous studies as 13 out of the 30 Nigerian universities surveyed offered the course “information literacy” as a stand-alone course in the department of LIS. Unfortunately, the study found that majority of the LIS departments do not have IL laboratories for students to acquire practical skills. These findings will provide useful data for stakeholders in the university system such as supervising bodies, university management, heads of department, and library associations and regulatory bodies, assisting them in the creation of policies related to the integration of IL courses into the school system and in enforcing the implementation of these policies.

Related to the nowadays technology<br />development, to conduct performance assessment of<br />lecturer can use the Decision Support System based on<br />several criteria as the assessment material. The provided<br />criteria in this paper seem to be the obtained criteria from<br />P2KP and BKD component. P2KP is performance<br />assessment of lecturer under the Badan Kepegawaian<br />Negara (BKN) supervision. Meanwhile BKD is<br />performance assessment of lecturer under the DIKTI<br />supervision. The lecturer criteria are taken from those two<br />components because the lecturers’ status cannot be<br />separated from the officer under BKN and educator under<br />the DIKTI support. It is expected that the criteria coming<br />from both components integration will be able to produce<br />performance assessment of lecturer objectively. The<br />method to proceed the assessment was Weighted Product<br />(WP). The examined data of the lecturers were the<br />Brawijaya University lecturers’ data. The final<br />examination data was conducted by taking the data<br />randomly from 20 Brawijaya University lecturers. The<br />final output from this Decision Support System is the<br />lecturers which are selected from three categories, which<br />are, less, normal, and good. It is expected that Decision<br />Support System is able to categorize the standard eligible<br />lecturer (Normal/medium category), and the lecturer<br />surpassing the standard (good category).<br /></span>

Conceptual framework brings all aspects of a study together through a process that explicates their connections and the contexts shaping a research setting as well as the study of the phenomena in that setting. It gives a theoretical meaning to what is contained in the main text of the study. The aim of this study was to understand challenges faced by postgraduate students in the application of conceptual frameworks in their researches. The study was informed by a case study and interpretivist paradigm. Participants were made up of four lecturers and twenty postgraduate students. The study findings suggest that students did not understand what the conceptual framework was really about such that, even those who had some ideas could not precisely apply it. This situation was partly attributed to poor understanding by supervising lecturers and lack of prioritization in teaching conceptual frameworks during learning process as well as lack of interactive supportive materials. The study further revealed that students did not substantively review literature to understand their research area that would eventually help them develop shrewd conceptual framework. It was also found that many students who purported to use conceptual framework failed to explain and relate it to methods and findings. Premised on the study findings, the study says that, postgraduate candidates lacked explicit and cohesive understanding of the relationships among concepts throughout the research process, they instead focused on the methods whilst overlooking the conceptual framework. The problem with application of conceptual framework was not only on trainees, but also on the trainers both of whose defensive arguments tended to be projected towards the opposite party. This therefore calls for a critical individual reflection and reflexivity on both parties and to ensure a co-engaged way of teaching and learning that is transformatively hands-on from the onset. The study proposes a framework that can generally enhance effective teaching of complex topics in research methodology courses at all academic levels.

Teacher trainees should be prepared to teach and exposed to the approaches, models, and techniques of literature teaching. Being ready can also boost their confidence to teach literature so that the lessons can be delivered smoothly. These teachers are so new to teaching that they might face difficulties when teaching English, specifically literature. There are teaching techniques, strategies and approaches that those pre-service teachers can investigate to understand better how to apply in their teaching. Additionally, their lack of exposure towards literature teaching can also affect the performance of teaching. This paper seeks to investigate pre-service teachers’ readiness to teach literature in schools and the challenges faced by them while teaching literature. It also attempts to offer suggestions to improve better literature teaching. This mixed method research study used questionnaires distributed to 22 TESL pre-service teachers from a public university in Johor. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted with two lecturers who have vast experiences in supervising pre-service teachers at schools. Results show that a majority of fourth year TESL students are ready to teach literature with the training and courses provided by the university. Also, among the challenges that they faced are time management and their students’ feelings on the subject. This study hopes to provide insights to training teachers on literature teaching.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to change all aspects of our lives, including higher education. As a result, lecturers get an impact in terms of technology literacy obligations. This situation certainly affects their performance in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the performance of lecturers during the Covid-19 pandemic. These factors include age, education, motivation, satisfaction, perception of appreciation, supervision, learning facilities, and technological literacy. The method for collecting data was questionnaires and open interviews with 150 lecturer respondents at a university. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using a logistic regression model, where the parameter estimation was conducted using a genetic algorithm. The estimation process is assisted by Matlab 7.0 software. The results of the analysis show that the factors of age, education, motivation, satisfaction, perception of supervision, learning facilities, and technological literacy have a significant effect on lecturer performance. This study implies that the University needs to consider significant factors for improving lecturers' performance so that teaching and learning activities can run effectively. Partially organizational support has a positive and significant effect on the work performance of Efarina University Lecturers, Partially supervision does not significantly affect the work performance of Lecturers at Efarina University, the R2 value obtained is 0.423 or 42.3% which indicates the ability of the climate variable learning , support organization and supervision in explaining the variation that occurs in the Lecturer 's performance variable is 42.3%, while the remaining 57.7% is explained by other variables that are not included in the model such as compensation, organizational culture, job satisfaction, and others.

The study assessed perspectives in the supervision of human and material resources and its contribution to the teaching effectiveness of Physical and Health Education Lecturers’ in Colleges of Education in South-South region of Nigeria. Two null hypotheses were formulated based on the specific objectives of the study. A 35-item questionnaire was developed by the researchers and used for data collection. A sample of 69 Physical and Health Education lecturers from 7 colleges out of 12 who offer Physical and Health Education were selected through the status sampling technique. Pearson Product Moment correlation was used in data analyses. It was revealed that teaching effectiveness of Physical and Health Education lecturers had significant relationship with the supervision of human resources in the colleges of education; also, involvement of lecturers in facilities supervision had significant influence on Physical and Health Education lecturers teaching effectiveness. Based on the findings, it is concluded that human resource and facilities supervision are institutional predictors of Physical and Health Education lecturers teaching effectiveness in these colleges of education. It was recommended that staff selection process should strictly be supervised by credible academics and recruitment based on merit. In addition, that lecturer (human resource) should be given opportunity to develop their professional capacities, through in-service training, conference and workshop. Thirdly, Lecturers of Physical and Health Education should be made to participate in practical supervision of equipment, facilities and other materials used in the facilitation of physical and health education activities.

This study aimed to describe some of the problems students face in online learning in educational supervision courses in the Kerinci Regency. This type of research is classified as a qualitative research type. This study enrolled four fifth semester students, two from class B and two from class D. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation and interviewing. The techniques used in data analysis include data collection, data reduction, presentation and conclusion. Credibility, dependability, and confirmability tests can be used to determine validity. The research phase entails the following activities: theme selection, literature review, formulation of the research objective and difficulty, data collection, data refinement, data processing, data analysis, theoretical dialogue, triangulation of findings, and research conclusions. The research findings indicate that: (1) the internet network is frequently disrupted, resulting in material explained by lecturers via zoom meetings not sounding clear and being misunderstood by students; (2) some students lack access to learning tools such as laptops and androids, which slightly impede the lecture process and group discussions during zoom meetings; and (3) the level of seriousness and activeness of students in participating in online lectures through zoom meetings is still not good.

Dampak insentif ini dilihat secara umum dan pasca- lahirnya kebijakan baru tentang penghentian beberapa insentif finansial dosen tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi dokumentasi, dengan sampel purposive dan teknik snowball. Pembahasan hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan analisis induktif interpretatif komponensial yang dikembangkan berdasarkan model Spradley. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) UNY tidak memiliki satu aturan khusus dan integral yang mengatur mekanisme pemberian insentif untuk tenaga akademik, baik pada tingkat universitas maupun fakultas. (2) Insentif finansial, non-finansial dan perverse incentives yang ditemukan dari hasil penelitian memiliki pengaruh terhadap kinerja tenaga akademik. Tetapi insentif finansial memiliki pengaruh lebih signifikan dibanding kedua bentuk insentif lain. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tingkat kehadiran dosen mengajar dan mengawas ujian mahasiswa di kelas yang tinggi saat ada insentif dan menurun saat insentif tersebut dihilangkan. Kata kunci: insentif, dampak insentif, tenaga akademik THE MECHANISM OF INCENTIVE DISTRIBUTION OF ACADEMIC STAFF AT YOGYAKARTA STATE UNIVERSITY Abstract This study reveals the mechanism of incentive distribution and its impact on the performance of academic staff at UNY. Its impact is seen in general and after the issuing of a new policy that stopped the financial incentives of lecturer in 2013. The research used a qualitative method. Data were collected through depth interview, observation, and review of documents, with purposive sampling based on snowball technique. The data was analyzed using componential interpretative inductive analysis developed by Spradley’ model. The result shows, (1) UNY does not have the specific and integral rules that regulate mechanism of incentive distribution for academic staff, both at the university and faculty level. (2) Financial, non-financial and perverse incentives found from the research have an influence on the performance of academic staff, but financial incentive has more significant effect than the two other incentives forms. It is shown by the lecturers presence for teaching and supervising students examination in the class which is high when there is a financial incentives and decreases when there was no financial incentives. This study is a pioneer study that seeks to explore the association between supervision outputs and the nature of the supervision (by e-mail, face-to-face, the student&rsquo;s independence). In addition, the association between the supervising lecturer&rsquo;s personal background (gender, age), professional background (faculty, tenure, excellence in teaching), and the supervision outputs (articles written, presentations at conferences) and nature of the supervision is explored. The purpose of the study is to explore items in depth so that they can be used in developing a questionnaire exploring the association between supervision outputs and the nature of the supervision. The research findings show, for various items, significant interactions between age and gender, excellence in teaching, and tenure. Significant interactions were also found between gender and faculty, as well as between age and excellence in teaching. Differences were also found between faculties. The findings of this study might have practical consequences for establishing the output-guided association in research supervision, as well as for establishing the practical association between the nature of the supervision and the lecturer&rsquo;s personal background, professional background, the supervision outputs, and the nature of the supervision. These findings constitute a foundation for methodological thinking concerning supervision by staff members, a subject that has considerable meaning for the initial steps taken by young student researchers and for the systematic establishment of the pattern of academic supervision, which although not frontal teaching may be even more demanding.

We are talking about lecturers in this case. Government rule says in teacher and lecturer act No. 14 year 2015 that lecturer is professional educator and scientist who transform, develop, and propagate science, technology, and art through education, research, and society dedication. Lecturer is educator who has important role in transforming learners, and lecturer has to have good qualification of academic and character. Lecturer is prosecuted to present good performance. A high lecturer performance influences a higher education quality. This research is aimed to figure out the factors that influence lecturer performance. Performance factors of lecturer include experience, skill, age, sex, education, work period, responsibility, work satisfaction, perception, motivation, leadership, fee, supervision, and work condition (Robbins S P, 2011). There are seven (7) factors, in this research, that influence lecturer performance in learning process in private universities in Bandung city such as age, education, work period, work motivation, work satisfaction, fee perception and supervision perception. The result of the research says X1 variable (age) influences in the amount of 0,069, X2 variable (education) influences in the amount of 0,571; X3 variable (work period) influences in the amount of 0,034; X4 variable (work motivation) influences in the amount of 1,185; X5 variable (work satisfaction) influences in the amount of 0,554; X6 variable (fee perception) influences in the amount of -0,38; X7 variable (supervision perception) influences in the amount of 0,209.

Determining the segmentation and positioning of the lecturers in selecting the thesis supervisor is very important to do. It is because, with this information, the supervision process in thesis writing can run well. This study intends to analyze the segmentation and positioning of lecturers related to determine the thesis supervisor using the Clusterwise Bilinear Spatial Multidimensional Scaling Model (CBSMSM) method. The data used is survey data for fifth-semester bachelor students of the 2019/2020 academic year of the Department of Computer Science, Pakuan University. One hundred sixty-one student observations provide an assessment of 10 attributes regarding the characteristics of 32 lecturers of the department. Furthermore, the estimation of the segment coordinate parameters, lecturer coordinates, dimensions, and attributes simultaneously uses the alternating least square (ALS) algorithm. The number of segments and dimensions are selected based on the smallest sum square error (SSE) value for combining segments and other dimensions. As a result, we get four segments and four dimensions with an SSE value of 4864.003. Furthermore, the department can use this result to illustrate student assessments of their lecturers' characteristics regarding thesis supervision.

The University of Darussalam Gontor is a university that pays attention to learning Arabic. This is by the curriculum in each study program. As the founder stated that University must be a university that consistently teaches the language of the Qur`an, all students must master Arabic. However, the Islamic Economics study program does not yet have Arabic language teaching materials that have a bad impact on lecturers or students in the teaching and learning process. So, the researchers tried to compile Arabic language teaching materials specifically for students of Islamic Economics study programs at the University of Darussalam Gontor. The formulation of the research problem is “What the characteristics of Arabic teaching materials to improve reading skills of Islamic Economics study program students at the University of Darussalam Gontor?” and “How effective are Arabic teaching materials in improving reading skills of Management study students at the University of Darussalam Gontor?”. This study aims to explain the characteristics of the Arabic language teaching materials in improving the reading skills of students in Islamic Economics study programs at the University Darussalam of Gontor and to see the effectiveness of Arabic teaching materials to improve reading skills of students in Islamic Economics at the University of Darussalam Gontor. This research is a type of Research and Development (R & D) research which is preceded by data collection with interviews, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. To analyze the data collected, the author uses the t-test formula. The results of this study that teaching materials are arranged in the form of books, which are preceded by supervising for instructors of Arabic, learning steps, and syllabus. And the core of this book is material consisting of 13 chapters, consisting of reading texts and practice questions. At the end of this book, there are vocabulary words and their meanings arranged according to the alphabet. From the results of the pre-test and post-test values, it was found that the post-test value was greater than the pre-test. This shows that the compiled book is used both for students and instructors of Arabic. Then the Arabic language instructors must pay attention to the things students need to learn Arabic by looking at the condition of the students and their language skills. From the results of this discussion, researchers hope that lecturers of Arabic language material will always pay attention to the needs of students, so they can choose the right material and learning methods and according to their needs.

Social networking services (SNSs) have been popular and essential media to increase lecturer-student interaction, collaboration, and communication as well as lecturers' supervision in Indonesian universities including in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). This mixed method study utilized a survey and interview as the techniques of data collection which specifically explored the lecturers' perspectives on the use SNSs for personal and educational purposes as well as demographic information related to the experience and frequency using SNSs, ownership (possession) of SNSs, and SNSs popularity. The findings revealed that the participants had much knowledge and experiences with SNSs. Even though most participants found some benefits of SNSs in EFL classes including easing communication, supervision and evaluation, time flexibility, and creativity. There were two barriers that have emerged, including lack of skill and cost to use. Implications and future research are offered to improve technology integration in higher education.

Relationships between teachers, children and university lecturers must be positive, productive and professional to optimise the learning and development of student teachers in school-based experiences. The limited research into these ‘high stakes’ relationships mostly explores alternative approaches. This paper explores the perceptions of student teachers and associate teachers as they consider the value of an alternative practicum supervision approach. The lecturers supervised and mentored the student teachers in all of their practicum experiences. Findings indicate a clear preference for this approach, mostly because of reduced stress, especially in the final practicum. The lecturer was a stable influence with a greater depth of knowledge of the student’s learning journey. The later visits were future-focused, identifying next steps in developing both strengths and weaknesses. There are some current examples of this approach, but these participants suggest that it should be common practice because of the value of the professional conversations that occurred.

Independent campus policy was a form of Student Centred Learning (SCL) actual implementation. Through this policy, learning might be performed outside campus area, yet still within lecturer’s supervision. The policy implementation needed carefulness. Objective of this research was to establish the implementation of independent campus at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. This research used qualitative descriptive method using in-depth interview. This research, also, used diffusion of innovation theory to see how the adaptation process performed by academics of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta in implementing independent campus policy. Result of this research showed that University of National Development (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta satisfied Independent Campus program preparation in the future and would be elaborated and referred to 5 decision making processes. Stages in diffusion of innovation were stages of knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. Lecturer as educator had been socialized about Freedom to Learn – Independent Campus (MBKM) program. Therefore, after draft of Independent Campus had been implemented, freshmen would be the first batch that would be tried with this policy. In competency, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta lecturers had been known that they met the teaching quality standard. In addition, learning process method would be made creatively and innovatively to balance the MBKM dynamics.

This study aims to analyze efforts to develop student morals and the supporting and inhibiting factors at Ma'had Saad bin Abi Waqqash Palembang. This research is a field research, the type of data used is qualitative data and the informants in this research are some lecturers and two Ma'had administrators. Methods of data collection using in-depth open interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research show that the lecturer's efforts in fostering student morals are by the method of giving descriptions to students about the meaning and importance of morals, habituation by strengthening programs, upholding discipline, creating conducive and Islamic nuances of ma'had areas, preparing reference books on lecturer morals and exemplary. In general, student morals can be said to have been good with activities and activities implemented through moral aspects, basic matters regarding good morals, piety to Allah, temperament and character and are active and participate in programs that have been implemented in the ma'had area or in the hostel. The system applied in shaping student morals in an Islamic way is to return to the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah, exemplary, supervision, advice, habituation, guidance, learning and discipline.

The study investigated the extent to which lecturers comply with quality assurance mechanisms in public universities in Delta State. Two objectives, two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consisted of 1,299 lecturers and 6,826 students from the public universities in Delta State. A sample of 260 lecturers and 409 students representing 20% and 6% respectively of the population which was obtained using the proportionate random sampling technique was used. The instrument for data collection was the researchers made questionnaire titled “Compliance with Quality Assurance Mechanisms Questionnaire (CQAMQ). The Cronbach Alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the items and it yielded a result of 0.78 and 0.79. The researchers and two assistants distributed 669 copies of the questionnaire and successfully collected 628 copies of the questionnaire administered. The research questions were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation and rank order statistics, while the hypotheses were tested using z-test at 0.05 level of significance. It was found that lecturers’ in public universities in Delta State complied with punctuality and regular attendance to lectures and adhered to the course outline to a high extent. Based on the findings, it was concluded that lecturers compliance with the quality assurance mechanism of punctuality and regular attendance ,adherence to the course outline is high, it was recommended that the university management should encourage lecturers to adhere to the course outline through collegial supervision, and ensure that the course outlines to be used are submitted to the head of departments, the university management should initiate a reward system whereby lecturers that are always punctual and regular in attendance to lectures are given prizes and recognition.

As technology progresses in education, 21st-century educators need to use impactful instructional methods to ensure that the focus of education is on preparing today's children for the future. However, the biggest challenge for most lecturers in Multimedia University is teaching the non-graded subjects (pass or fail in nature). Since the subjects do not affect the CGPA, students were found not being serious or showing interest in the class. Consequently, it affects the learning outcome of the subject and also the psychosocial and moral of the students and lecturers. Therefore, action research using the Scaffolding method with a group of lecturers teaching non-graded subjects to see the effectiveness and impact on student’s learning. Grooming and Professional Etiquette subjects were chosen to be the focus of this study. The lecturers applied the new role of teachers in education using the scaffolding teaching method. Students were given tasks to organize a grooming and professional etiquette program while they showed groomed behavior. There were lectures and small discussions in the class before the event. There were peer discussion and collaboration before and during the event with minimum supervision from the lecturers. Survey questionnaires were distributed to the students at the end of the event/class for the particular semester. The results showed that this approach managed to boost up students’ grooming and professional etiquette as well as their class participation. They enjoyed the activities, more attentive, and confident when experiencing the task themselves rather than listening to lectures and watching videos in the class. Drug abuse is one of the health-related problems among Nigerian youth and has been a source of concern to educational stakeholders. Its social implications to undergraduate students cannot be quantified. In light of this, this study examined causes and consequences of drug abuse among undergraduates at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study and a simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents for the study. The instrument used was a researcher-designed questionnaire on the causes and consequences of drug abuse among undergraduates. The instrument was validated by lecturers in the Department of Social Sciences Education and it possessed a coefficient of 0.72 using a test re-test method. All of the undergraduate students of the University of Ilorin formed the population of the study. The demographic data of the respondents and drug abuse variable were described and analyzed using percentages. Means were used to analyze the research question, while t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to test the null hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that the major cause of drug abuse among undergraduates at the University of Ilorin was the need to cope with academic challenges. Findings also revealed that the main consequences of drug abuse among undergraduates of the University of Ilorin was low self-esteem. It was further revealed that there were no significant differences in the causes and consequences of drug abuse among undergraduates of the University of Ilorin based on gender and their faculty. It was, however, recommended among others that the government should enact measures on people that are selling drugs indiscriminately and should be supervising the target area, and if possible, check the activities of the victims of drug abuse. The Ministry of Education in conjunction with the National Campaign against Drug Abuse (NACADA) should engage in appropriate interagency agreements in order to streamline the provision of services to support students with social and behavioral problems emanating from drug abuse.

Salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran guru di kelas dilakukan melalui sebuah supervisi. Salah tugas kepala sekolah yaitu sebagai supervisor. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepala sekolah dalam membuat instrumen supervisi dan menganalisis hasil supervisi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29 November 2019 yang diikuti sebanyak 34 orang peserta. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, praktek langsung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui dua tahapan yaitu: tahap pertama berupa pembekalan peserta secara teoritis mengenai konsep supervisi dan tahap kedua berupa praktik membuat instrumen supervisi. Produk yang dihasilkan dari pengabdian ini berupa instrumen supervisi pembelajaran. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menujukan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest yang menunjukan rata-rata skor peserta sebesar 49,4 dan 82,3 dengan persentase peningkatan sebesar 65%. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa bimbingan teknis pembuatan instrumen supervisi untuk kepala sekolah PAUD yang diberikan memberikan manfaat bagi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepala sekolah di kelompok kerja kepala sekolah (K3 PAUD) di Kecamatan Alalak, Barito Kuala tentang cara-cara membuat instrumen supervisi dalam pembelajaran di PAUD. One effort to improve the quality of teacher learning in class made through supervision. One of the headmaster tasks is as a supervisor. Community service aims to increase the headmaster's knowledge and understanding in making supervision instruments and analyzing the supervision results. To achieve these objectives, the methods used are lectures, questions, and answers, direct practice. This dedication activity carried out through two stages: the first stage is in the form of briefing participants theoretically about the concept of supervision, and the second stage is the practice of making supervision instruments. The products produced from community service implemented in the form of learning supervision instruments. The community service results aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding based on the results of the pretest and posttest, which showed an average score of participants of 49.4 and 82.3 with a percentage increase of 65%. This indicates that the technical guidance of making supervision instruments for kindergarten principals provided benefits for increasing the knowledge and understanding of principals in kindergarten headmaster's association in Alalak Barito Kuala about ways to make supervision instruments in learning in Kindergarten.

Higher education is a service industry, therefore it must be able to provide excellent service. Therefore one of the lecturers’ job satisfaction must be considered. Lecturers who feel job satisfaction will work optimally. InHigher Education Z, it was found that there was an indication of the dissatisfaction of the lecturers’ work, therefore the purpose of this study was to design an Instrumenr of Lecturer performance satisfaction in Higher Education, to find out how high the level of job satisfaction was, and to identify variables from aspects that were not yet optimal Z. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The results of the analysis of the validity test, the value oh the item correlation of each variable, namely form Work, Salary and Wages, promotion Opportunities, Supervision, Co-Workers and Working Conditions by using the formula product moment r value result from 6 variables> r table (0,286) so that the design the job satisfaction instrumrnt is valid. Cronbachs Alpha value reliability test obtained Cronbach’s Alpha value greater than the critical value of (0.60). Then it can be concluded thet the items of the research instrument are reliable. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Aula Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Bandar Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini: 1) Ekspositori: instruktur ceramah atau presentasi dengan menggunakan media visual, 2) Tanya jawab: dalam ceramah atau presentasi yang disampaikan oleh instruktur kepada peserta disertai tanya jawab antara peserta dan instruktur, 3) Pemberian tugas: instruktur memberikan tugas kepada peserta untuk melaksanakan kegiatan sesuai dengan materi yang telah diberikan. Pemberian tugas dilakukan secara individu dan kelompok, 4) Diskusi kelompok: kegiatan yang dilakukan secara kelompok dalam rangka menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan oleh instruktur yang hasilnya dipresentasikan dihadapan kelompok lain, 5) Latihan: kegiatan praktik pembuatan rencana kegiatan pengawasan akademik. Sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah kepala sekolah dasar yang masa jabatannya kurang dari lima tahun. Hasil kegiatan: 1. Meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta tentang pentingnya pengembangan guru, peran dan tanggungjawab kepala sekolah, konsep dasar sipervisi akademik, dan pendekatan, prinsip dan teknik supervisi akademik, 2. Materi kegiatan merupakan hal yang dibutuhkan dan bermanfaat bagi peserta atau kepala sekolah untuk merencanakan dan melaksanakan kegiatan supervisi akademik di sekolah, 3. Menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan sikap positif kepala sekolah terhadap pelaksanaan supervisi akademik dalam mengembangkan profesional guru, dan 4. Meningkatkan keterampilan kepala sekolah dalam membuat perencanaan pengawasan akademik dan menggunakan lembar pengamatan untuk menilai guru mengajar. Kata kunci: penguatan, supervisi akademik, kepala sekolah ABSTRACT Activities to strengthen academic supervision competencies for primary school principals aimed to: 1) Increase understanding of the role of school principals as supervisors and the importance of academic supervision in improving teacher professionalism which had an impact on improving the quality of education in schools, 2) Increasing the positive attitude of school principals in developing abilities and efforts to improve the implementation of academic supervision in schools, 3) Increasing the ability or skills of school principals in implementing this activity is that the principal had a positive attitude to develop abilities and efforts to improve the implementation of academic supervision in schools. The activity was carried out in the Hall of the Education and Culture Office of the City of Bandar Lampung. The methods used in this activity were: 1) Expository: instructors gave lectures or presentations using visual media, 2) Question and answer: lectures or presentations were delivered by the instructor to participants accompanied by questions and answers between participants and instructors, 3) Assignment: the instructor gave tasks for participants to carry out activities in accordance with the material that had been given. Assignments were carried out individually and in groups, 4) Group discussion: activities carried out in groups in order to complete the tasks given by the instructor whose results were presented in front of other groups, 5) Exercise: practical activities were done by making plans for academic supervision activities. The targets of this activity were primary school principals whose tenure was less than five years. Results of the activity were: 1. Increasing participants' knowledge about the importance of teacher development, the roles and responsibilities of school principals, basic concepts of academic supervision, and approaches, principles and techniques of academic supervision, 2. Activity materials were things that were needed and useful for participants or school principals to plan and carry out academic supervision activities in schools, 3. Cultivating and increasing the principal's positive attitude towards the implementation of academic supervision in developing teacher professionalism, and 4.
