A new species, Xerodelphax ivanovi sp. n., of the subtribe Tanymecina (Tanymecini, Entiminae) is described and illustrated from the Ayagoz District of the Abai Region, Kazakhstan. The new species is similar to Xerodelphax parthicus Korotyaev, 1992 from Turkmenistan but differs in the pointed apex of the aedeagus, a broader pronotum anterior to and a narrower body. It is the first record of the genus Xerodelphax from Kazakhstan.

During a visit to the New Zealand Arthropod Collection in Auckland, New Zealand, in February 2007 I examined a series of specimens of a large flightless species of Entiminae from high elevation in the páramo of Colombia. To my surprise, they proved to represent an undescribed species of Tanymecini. This species is here described as Hadromeropsis annae Anderson, in recognition of the 80th birthday (19 July 2007) of Anne T. Howden, of Ottawa, Canada. The first record of Chlorophanus caudatus Fåhraeus, 1840 (Curculionidae: Entiminae, Tanymecini) from Western Siberia (Altaiskii Krai) is given. It is the most north-eastern find of this species. The new synonym, Chlorophanus caudatus var. simulans Faust 1897, syn. nov. to Chlorophanus caudatus, is established. The distribution map, illustrations and redescription of Chlorophanus caudatus are presented.

Riptortus pedestris (Fab.) (Hemiptera, Alydidae) is one of the most damaging insects of leguminous crops in Eastern Asia but has only recently emerged as a pest in Bangladesh. Eggs, nymphs and adults of R. pedestris are here reported from mung bean (Vigna radiata (L.)) fields in Bangladesh. The Chinese species of the highland weevil genus <i>Pachynotus</i> is revised, including a single known species, <i>P. lampoglobus</i> Chao &amp; Y.-Q. Chen, 1980, and the descriptions of two new species, <i>P. pilosus</i> sp. nov. and <i>P. arcuatus</i> sp. nov. All Chinese <i>Pachynotus</i> species occur in Xizang (Tibet), China, and a key to these species is presented. Additionally, the COI sequences of two species, <i>P. lampoglobus</i> and <i>P. pilosus</i> sp. nov., are provided, with details of the genetic distance.
