Treatment of patients with bilateral terminal defects of the dental arches requires a comprehensive approach to restore the functional activity of the masticatory apparatus. Dental implantation is currently an actual treatment method to fill the defects of dental rows. The electromyography (EMG) method allows us to determine the condition of the masticatory muscles, their functional activity, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment. Objective: To study electromyographic changes in patients with bilateral terminal defects of the dental arches, combined with dysfunction of the temporo

Rehabilitation patients with malocclusions and dental arches defect is important separate question. It depends on differences in treatment planning this type of patients. Actually, there is prosthetic stage which replaces orthodontic preparation. There are two possibilities of this algorithm. 1 - orthognathic surgery and prosthetic dental arches reparation. 2 - simultaneously orthognathic and preimplantation surgery and at second stage - dental arches restoration (usually with dental implants). This approach opens many options: simultaneous surgery cut rehabilitation time, combination some ope

The level of development of each era determines the specifics of recognizing diseases and teaching about them. Nowadays, there is an increased interest taken by patients in their own appearance as well as in the structural features of the facial part of their heads. Another issue currently faced by the dentistry is the growing prevalence of dentofacial anomalies and deformities among various population groups. The etiological factors behind anomalies and deformities include dental system congenital and acquired pathologies, and especially dental arch defects . The effect of the dental arches p

The analysis of textbook and modern literature sources devoted to the graphic construction of human dental arches was carried out in order to select the optimal research methods, taking into account the individual characteristics of the craniofacial morphology. The features of the construction of dental arches according to the Hawley method are presented and the possibilities of using this technique only for some types of dental arches are shown. Information is given on the amendments to the calculations of the radius of the Hawley circle, taking into account the geometric laws of the circle.

During dentition development stages, various defects of the dental structures can appear and can be in shape, number, position, structure. The latter primarily affect the aesthetic appearance, but also the other functions of the dentomaxillary system, when the severity of the lesions is important. Enamel hypoplasia in the frontal area of dental arches, with moderate extension of defects, can be easily treated with modern resin composite materials using adhesive technique, by direct restorations. In this way, the coronal morphological integrity and the harmonious dento-facial appearance are res

Dental implants have become a well-established treatment modality for the management of complete and partial edentulism. Recent advancements in dental implant systems and CAD/CAM technologies have revolutionized prosthodontic practice by allowing for the predictable, efficient, and faster management of complex dental scenarios. This clinical report describes the interdisciplinary management of a patient with Sjogren’s syndrome and terminal dentition. Currently, dental implantation is widely used in practical dentistry to restore defects in dental arches with fixed orthopedic structures. At the same time, complex anatomical and topographic conditions of the bone tissue of the alveolar process of the upper and lower jaws cause a number of clinical difficulties that require bone grafting before installing dental implants, which requires an individual approach. In case of severe atrophy of the alveolar process of the jaws in the frontal and lateral sections, the choice of surgical correction method is bone augmentation by distraction osteogene

Methods. Based on 100 cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images (50 males and 50 females), we obtained 100 pairs of basal bone arches, which were the horizontal inner cortex contours passing the furcation of the first molar paralleled to the lower occlusal plane. In Chapter 21, we described the development of the pharyngeal arches and their derivatives. Craniofacial abnormalities account for about one third of all live birth defects. These arise during the development of the pharyngeal arches described in Chapter 21 or during the events described in this chapter. The first pharyngeal arch, the mandibular arch, is one of the basic building blocks needed to form the face and associated structures. The other major building block is the frontonasal process that covers the developing forebrain. The development of the face begins after the first pharyngeal a
