Wireless inductive power transfer systems are the only viable option for transferring energy to a moving vehicle. In recent years, there has been a great deal of interest in in-motion vehicle charging. The dominant technology thus far for in motion charging is elongated tracks, creating a constant eld for the moving vehicle. This technology suers from high volt ampere ratings and lower efficiency of 70%. On the other hand, stationary charging systems can demonstrate efficiency up to 95%. Streszczenie:
Animal monitoring devices are deployed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in remote areas. Currently this requires field workers to visit each device on a regular basis, which is costly and time consuming. This report details wireless technologies that would allow remote monitoring of these devices to bring about increased operational efficiency for DOC. Of particular interest is the wireless transmission of images through forested terrain. While traditionally recognised as a difficult environment for wireless communications, research undertaken has indicated transmissions at 27 MHz ar

Streszczenie:
In telecommunications, distributed cooperative communications refer to techniques which allow different users in a wireless network to share or combine their information in order to increase diversity gain or power gain. Unlike conventional point-to-point communications maximizing the performance of the individual link, distributed cooperative communications enable multiple users to collaborate with each other to achieve an overall improvement in performance, e.g., improved range and data rates. The first part of this dissertation focuses the problem of jointly decoding
