Streszczenie:
An important part of the system of Russian adverbs constitutes adverbs motivated by non-prepositional and prepositional case forms of nouns, which can be divided into three types regarding the planes of expression and content. The first type includes adverbs motivated by non-prepositionalforms of nouns, e. g., весной. The second type comprises adverbs motivated by prepositional case forms of nouns, such as наверху. The third type is adverbs formed from combinations of different case forms of the same noun, such as изо дня в день. All these types have a stepwise character in the process of adverbalization. The study shows that adverbialization of nouns is closely related to lexicalization, but the degree and ways of lexicalisation for noun word forms are different. The transitivity scale clearly represents the process of separation from the noun and approaching the adverbalization. In addition, in the process of lexicalisation, there is also a process of grammaticalization, which is reflected in morphological, semantic, and syntactic aspects.

Streszczenie:
When metal is subjected to extreme strain rates, the conversation of energy to plastic power, the subsequent heat production and the growth of damages may lag behind the rate of loading. The imbalance alters deformation pathways and activates micro-dynamic excitations. The excitations immobilize dislocation, are responsible for the stress upturn and magnify plasticity-induced heating. The main conclusion of this study is that dynamic strengthening, plasticity-induced heating, grain size strengthening and the processes of microstructural relaxation are inseparable phenomena. Here, the phenomena are discussed in semi-independent sections, and then, are assembled into a unified constitutive model. The model is first tested under simple loading conditions and, later, is validated in a numerical analysis of the plate impact problem, where a copper flyer strikes a copper target with a velocity of 308 m/s. It should be stated that the simulations are performed with the use of the deformable discrete element method, which is designed for monitoring translations and rotations of deformable particles.

Streszczenie:
Introduction: This paper studies the frequency with which hydrodynamic parameters change in the sudden expansion section of axisymmetric pressure flow, based on the boundary layer equations. Methods: The suggested method reveals the regularity of changes in the hydrodynamic parameters of the flow in the transitional area, making it possible to obtain a velocity profile in any cross-section under common initial and boundary conditions. Based on the general solutions, we studied the hydrodynamic processes occurring in the transitional area of the effective sudden cross-section expansion within the axisymmetric pressure movement, in the following cases: a) when the velocity is constant at any point of the inlet face; b) when the velocity is distributed along the inlet face according to the parabolic law. Our calculations were carried out for different values of the expansion factor. Results: Based on the results of the computer-aided experimental study, we obtained velocity diagrams along the length of the transitional area with constant and parabolic velocity distributions for fluid inflowing into the expanded section. We also determined the patterns of pressure distribution along the length of the relevant section.

This article examines the responses of students on being introduced to several of Winnicott's major concepts: transitional space, illusion, good enough mothering, true and false self. Building on Ogden's idea that Winnicott's style of writing and form of presentation is inseparable from the ideas he wishes to convey, this article shows how students evolved a developmental framework for themselves with the aid of Winnicott's theory. The new theory itself becomes a transitional object for further use and elaboration. Various examples of student's responses to the paper on transitional phenomena are cited, in addition to an examination of their responses to the application of transitional theory to organisations.

Streszczenie:
The article deals with the transitional phenomena in the functioning of the Ukrainian and Russian languages in Ukraine. The topicality of the research is conditioned by the necessity of consideration of transitional phenomena in the area of the language situation in Ukraine. Ignoring these phenomena may cause false or not quite correct inferences and decisions. The aim of the research is to identify the essence of transitional phenomena in the functioning of languages and to justify the cognitive bases of influence on public opinion concerning thelanguage situation in Ukraine. In order to achieve the goal the following tasks are carried out: information on the attitudes of Ukrainians to the language issue is summarized; cognitive basis for the formation of public opinion is proposed; features of transition in the functional aspect (the use of languages in everyday communication and understanding the importance of Ukrainian as the only official language) and in the cognitive-pragmatic (formation of communicative personalities on the basis of the choice of Ukrainian value priorities) are identified; according to the mentioned aspects polar and transitional types of communicative personalities are distinguished; the means of communicative impact on each of them are offered. It is proved that in the functioning of languages and in the attitude to the language issue, there are such transitional phenomena: discussions about the possibility of functioning of two official languages; the presence in Ukraine of types of communicative personalities (CP) who have different views on the language situation in Ukraine. Polar types of communicative personalities are divided into: +1 (CP who use the Ukrainian language in everyday communication and realize its importance as a means of consolidation of thenation) and –1 (CP who use Russian in everyday communication, do not realize the importance of the Ukrainian language as a means of consolidation of the nation and actively support the functioning of two official languages). Three transitional types of CP are described. All above-mentioned features are correlated in these types in different ways. It has been proved that in Ukraine, based on the language position, a new type of communicative personality has been formed – bilingual personality, who regardless of ethnicity and language of everyday communication, chooses purely Ukrainian value priorities and actualizes the communicative code inherent in the language consciousness of the Ukrainian and Ukrainian communicative culture. In order to expand the area of functioning of the Ukrainian language, it is proposed to carry out a communicative impact on the public taking into account the type of CP. The cognitive basis for such communicative influence is formed. The main principles are respect towards the personalities of each type, the absence of aggressive pressure and didactic colouring. The cognitive basis of influence is information on the possibilities of language development and the real state of social relations between native speakers in countries with two or more official languages.

Streszczenie:
A drop that falls into a deep liquid can either coalesce with the receiving liquid and form a vortex ring or splash. Which phenomenon actually occurs depends on the impact conditions. When the impact conditions are gradually changed the transition between coalescence and splashing proceeds via a number of intermediate steps. These are studied by means of high-speed photography of the normal impact of water drops on a plane water surface. The characteristics of different flows that appear in the transitional regime and possible mechanisms causing these flows are discussed in detail. The phenomena considered include the rise of thick jets and the ejection of high-rising thin jets out of the impact crater, the entrainment of gas bubbles, crater dynamics, crown formation and the generation of splash droplets. Finally, a classification of the phenomena characteristic of the transitional regime is given.

Streszczenie:
Direct numerical simulation was performed on an incompressible, smooth flat-plate boundary layer at unit molecular Prandtl number and constant surface temperature under free-stream periodically passing turbulent planar wakes over the momentum thickness Reynolds number range of 80 ≤ Reθ ≤ 1850. This inhomogeneous free-stream wake perturbation source with mean deficit differs markedly from the isotropic turbulent patch used in the previous studies of Wu & Moin (J. Fluid Mech., vol. 630, 2009, p. 5; Phys. Fluids, vol. 22, 2010, 085105). Preponderance of hairpin vortices is observed in both the transitional and turbulent regions of the boundary layer. In particular, the internal structure of merged turbulent spots is a hairpin forest; the internal structure of infant turbulent spots is a hairpin packet. Although more chaotic in the turbulent region, numerous hairpin vortices are readily detected in both the near-wall and outer regions of the boundary layer up to Reθ = 1850. This suggests that the hairpin vortices in the higher-Reynolds-number region are not simply the aged hairpin forests convected from the upstream transitional region. Temperature iso-surfaces in the companion thermal boundary layer are found to be a useful tracer in identifying boundary-layer hairpin vortex structures. Total shear stress overshoots wall shear stress in the transitional region and the excess relaxes gradually in the downstream turbulent region. This overshoot is shown to be associated with a localized streamwise acceleration of the streamwise velocity component. Breakdown of the wake-perturbed laminar boundary layer is closely related to the formation of hairpin packets out of quasi-streamwise vortices. Mean and second-order statistics are in good agreement with previous data on the standard turbulent boundary layer. Downstream of transition, normalized root-mean-square (r.m.s.) wall-shear-stress intensity shows almost no variation with Reθ, whereas normalized r.m.s. wall-pressure intensity increases slightly. Taken together with the previous results of Wu & Moin, the generality of the following three phenomena in quasi-standard boundary layers can be reasonably established, namely, preponderance of hairpin vortices in the transitional as well as in the turbulent regions up to Reθ = 1850, transitional total shear stress overshoot, and a laminar-layer breakdown process closely tied to the formation of hairpin packets.

Streszczenie:
Hoarding is a disorder that has only recently begun to be understood by researchers and clinicians. This disorder has been examined from a biopsychosocial perspective and has features that overlap with obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as some unique characteristics. Hoarding disorder is widespread and maybe related to the evolution of collecting and storing resources among humans and other animals. While there have been a number of non-analytic theories related to hoarding and its treatment, psychoanalytic thinkers have rarely described the disorder or explored its underlying psychodynamics. Beginning with Freud, it is possible to understand hoarding in relationship to the vicissitudes of the anal stage of development. However, loss of a loved object, especially loss of the mother, can play an important role in the development of hoarding behavior in adults. The hoarding of inanimate items, examined from a developmental object-relations perspective, appears to involve transitional phenomena. Animal hoarding also involves transitional phenomena, but animals, which can serve as animated transitional objects, also have a repetition compulsion function. These psychodynamic characteristics are relevant for establishing a working transference with the analyst or therapist, in order to promote positive therapeutic outcomes.

The Transitional Alternative Fuels Vehicle model simulates the use and cost of alternative fuels and alternative fuel vehicles over the period 1996 to 2010. It is designed to examine the transitional period of alternative fuel and vehicle use. It accounts for dynamic linkages between investments and vehicle and fuel production capacity, tracks vehicle stock evolution, and represents the effects of increasing scale and expanding retail fuel availability on the effective costs to consumers. Fuel and vehicle prices and choices are endogenous. Preliminary results that illustrate the role of potentially important transitional phenomena are discussed. This model extends previous, long-run comparative static analyses of policies that assumed mature vehicle and fuel industries. As a dynamic transitional model, it can help to assess what may be necessary to reach mature, large-scale, alternative fuel and vehicle markets, and what it would cost.

The issue of the relationship of synonyms with transitional words is still actual. Because these two phenomena are important for linguistics. The article mentions the opinions of scientists in determining the nature of synonyms, as well as their specificity, the formation of synonyms in the Kyrgyz language, and their relationship with transitional words. Synonyms used figuratively for stylistic purposes have been corroborated by examples of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, euphemism, and discovery. Examples are given to show that euphemisms are a type of trope that conveys a figurative meaning of a word. In this regard, it is noted that in works of art, in addition to the generally accepted euphemisms for the Kyrgyz people, individual, contextual euphemisms are widely used, and transitional words are closely related to synonyms, especially with their contextual form and euphemisms. All of them are studied in fiction and serve as artistic means.

Grounded on the comparison of consolidated maps of typical isoglosses, based on the material of more than 50 maps of distribution of lexical-semantic and phonetic phenomena in the dialects of Nadvirna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the article reveals opposing structural-territorial integrations within the dialectal continuum of Nadvirna region, defines zone of mixed-transitional sub-dialects of Hutsul-Pokuthian, Hutsul-Upperdnistrian, Upperdnistrian-Pokuthian types and describes their features. In particular, it is noted that sub-dialects located at the confluence of the Pokuthian and Upperdnistrian, Pokuthian and Hutsul, Upperdnistrian and Hutsul dialects appeared as a result of contact between genetically related dialects. Previous studies of dialectologists on mixed and transitional sub-dialects are analyzed. Characteristic features of transitional and mixed dialects are generalized from linguistic sources about transitional and mixed sub-dialects of different linguistic-territorial formations. It is established that sub-dialects, located in the contact zone of Hutsul, Upperdnistrian, Pokuthian dialects are a distinct type of sub-dialects – mixed-transitional, which combine features of mixed and transitional. It is found that mixed-transitional sub-dialects of dialectal adjacencies of Nadvirna region are characterized by combination of different dialectal features, extinction of vocabulary and semantics, which are characteristic of the nexus of dialects, the emergence of contaminated forms, active enrichment of sub-dialects with synonymous rows, preservation of archaic meanings. At the same time, their systems do not undergo radical changes, show signs of mechanical mixing of elements of adjacent dialects. Keywords: areology of Nadvirna region, transitional sub-dialects, mixed sub-dialects, mixed-transitional sub-dialects, dialect boundary.

This article presents the development of a clinical outpatient analytic group and advances a view on twin phenomena in dreams. The influence of real and transferential twin experiences on the dynamic matrix is also shown. The way diffuse ego-boundaries and narcissistic injuries in the group lead to self-exclusion is discussed. The group’s struggle with autonomy–dependency conflicts is reflected upon with reference to lack of differentiation between self- and object-representations as they are also known in twin psychodynamics. It is demonstrated how the group intersubjectively connects with the psychotic experience of one participant. This leads to the group eventually being able to serve as a transitional space and deal with deep issues by managing projective and splitting mechanisms in both psychotic and non-psychotic transference and countertransference. Foulkes’ concept of the transpersonal is used to define how these intense occurrences lead to a beneficial outcome in the treatment of severe psychic disorders.

Streszczenie:
<p>This article analyses the role and the limits of transitology in framing transitional justice studies after the collapse of dictatorial regimes in Southern Europe, Latin America and Eastern Europe. It examines the evolution of the scholarship with reference to three main topics that have been pioneered by transitologists and developed further by transitional justice scholars, namely: the connections between justice for past abuses and democratisation; the determinants of transitional justice; and the relationship between accountability and the passage of time. The article argues that while transitology has nurtured important research initiatives in the field of transitional justice, its approaches suffer from serious shortcomings. They remained overly prescriptive and short-term in focus, and they often dehistoricised social phenomena. Adopting a teleological perspective on transitions supposedly bound for democracy, they overlooked comparisons and interconnections between transitional justice processes originating in democratic contexts and those arising from dictatorial settings. Moreover, in their attempt to build general typologies and establish causalities between types of dictatorial regimes, exit modes from authoritarianism and justice mechanisms, transitological approaches often failed to explain the peculiarities of national cases, and likewise paid scant attention to international contexts and transnational interactions.</p>
