The differential and total cross sections of the single gauge boson production in quasielastic high energy electron-photon scattering are obtained within the Standard Model in leading order and next-to-leading order of the perturbative theory. We address the effect of an anomalous triple gauge boson couplings on a physical observable for the electroweak sector of the Standard Model, when the S U 2 L ⊗ U 1 Y symmetry is spontaneously broken by the Higgs mechanism to U 1 e m . Our calculation is done within the framework of the gauge-invariant, but path-dependent variable formalism is an alternative to the Wilson loop approach. Our result shows that the interaction energy is the sum of a Yukawa and a linear potential, leading to the confinement of static probe charges. We update the indirect bounds on anomalous triple gauge couplings coming from the non-universal one-loop contributions to the [Formula: see text] width. This thesis is a presentation of an analysis of the $ZZ\rightarrow 4\ell$ ($\ell = e,\mu$) process in proton-proton collisions with centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at the LHC during 2015 and 2016 (a total integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb$^{-1}$), using the ATLAS detector.
