The contact angle and oil absorbent capacity ability of the obtained sponge were measured. Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) decorated on zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) arrays by combining hydrothermal method toward ZnO nanorods template and subsequent decoration on Au NPs on the ZnO surfaces by DC magnetron sputtering. The efficiency of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) in inhibiting Phytophthora spp. growth in both durian fruits and stems is demonstrated. The size of ZnO-NPs used was in range of 25-50 nm in diameter. Diseased durian sample were collected from a durian orchard located in southern of Thailand. In this communication we report on the fabrication of two different heterostructured core@shell 1D materials by low temperature (135 oC) plasma enhanced chemical deposition: Ag@TiO2 and Ag-NPs@ZnO nanorods (NRs).
