Bis-[4-amino-1,2,4-triazoles] were prepared by fusion of dibasic acids and thiosemicarbazide by condensation of aromatic acid hydrazides with hydrazine hydrate and carbon disulphide. Regioselective alkylation of these bis-[4-amino-1,2,4-triazoles] with 1,ω-dihaloalkanes in the presence of potassium hydroxide in aqueous methanol afforded novel N-aminotriazolophanes. The stereochemistry and antibacterial activity of these N-aminotriazolophanes were studied. The pillar[5]arene mono- and di(oxyalkoxy)benzoic acids were successfully prepared in high yields by sequential alkylation of ω-bromoalkoxy-substituted pillar[5]arenes with methyl or ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate followed by a hydrolytic reaction under basic conditions. This article presents both experimental and computational study of a new Ni(II) complex, namely, bis{2-(2-trifluoromethylbenzylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothioamido-κ2N2, S}nickel(II) (abbreviate as NiL2).
