Texto completo da fonte-- The present work was developed in two main stages: the obtaining, characterization and evaluation of the anti-inflammatory activity of the hydroalcoholic extract of the species Baccharis latifolia “Chilco”; and, the obtaining, characterization and evaluation of the anti-inflammatory activity of a pharmaceutical dosage form of topical usage containing the extract in study satisfactorily. In the obtaining of the hydroalcoholic extract, dry and pulverized leaves of the plant collected in the department of Amazonas were used; this extract was characterized using physicochemical and chromatographic techniques and a phytochemical screening; the anti-inflammatory effect was evaluated using the carragenina-induced edema method in mice, concentrations of 1,25 mg/g, 2,5 mg/g, 3,75 mg/g, 5 mg/g and 7 mg/g of the extract were tested with respect to a control group, it was found that the minor dose which maintains an inhibition of the edema up to the 70% after 5 hours of the carrageenin injection was the 2,5 mg/g concentration. This concentration was chosen to develop the pharmaceutical dosage form that allowed the incorporation of the extract at 2% in relation to the dry residue, obtaining with the pharmaceutical dosage form cream – gel optimal characteristics in the finished product, which was evaluated using physicochemical and chromatographic techniques. Finally, the anti-inflammatory effect of the finished product was evaluated using the carragenina-induced edema method in mice, determining that the anti-inflammatory effect was greater than the effect of the extract, verifying that the anti-inflammatory effect of the extract in the cream-gel stays and is even superior. -- Key words: Baccharis latifolia, anti-inflammatory effect, cream - gel.

Texto completo da fonte--- “Appraisal of the Anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids in patients that need inferior third molars surgery” The purpose of the research was to determinate if the intramuscular (IM) administration in gluteus muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone before and the IM administration in masseter muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone after inferior third molar’s extraction provoked greater decrease than the IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4mg of Dexamethasone only before of surgeon, the IM administration of 4 mg Dexamethasone in masseter only after of surgeon and front of Control group. The Dexamethasone was administered in 28 patients (16 woman and 12 man) of Stomatology Department at Naval Medical Center, with Impact inferior third molar diagnosis whose were divided in four groups: three groups in the Study Group; group of patients with IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone before and the IM administration of 4mg Dexamethasone in Masseter muscle after of inferior third molar’s extraction, the group of IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4 mg Dexamethasone only before the surgeon, the group of IM administration of 4 mg. Dexametasona in masseter muscle finished the surgeon and Control Group (patients who hadn’t been administered Dexamethasone). The evaluation of inflammation was divided in three sub variable: edema, trismus and pain these were evaluated in Study Group and Control Group. Edema was determinated by horizontal measurement’s variation of the anatomic point’s intersection (Tragus- Pogonion of soft tissue, Gonion-external angle of eyes). The measure was doing until the three day and the seven day after the extraction. Trismus was determinated evaluating the interincisal opening maxim with measurements daily for seven days after of inferior third molar’s extraction. The pain was determinated wearing the Analogous Visual Scale and counting the number of analgesic taken by patients, the pain’s measurement was done three days later of inferior third molar’s extraction. The results showed that it doesn’t exist significant statistics difference in decreases of edema, trismus, and pain among the group of IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone before and the IM administration in masseter muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone after of inferior third molar’s extraction, the Group which has received IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4 mg Dexamethasone only before the surgeon and the group of IM administration in masseter muscle of 4 mg Dexamethasone finished the surgeon only. The group of IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4mg. Dexamethasone before and the IM administration in masseter muscle of 4mg Dexamethasone after of inferior third molar’s extraction; and the IM administration in gluteus muscle of 4 mg Dexamethasone only before the surgeon provoked a greater decrease of inflammation front of Control group with significant high difference. Finally the results found the use of Dexamethasone in inferior third molar’s surgeon produced less inflammation post surgeon than patients who hadn’t been receive Dexamethasone. The use of Dexamethasone is an useful tool to prevention of inflammatory complications post surgeon of inferior third molars and other kinds of oral surgeons.

Texto completo da fonteObjective: The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of bromelain on serum and bone concentration of clindamycin after oral administration. Methods: It is a quasi-experimental, transversal and prospective research. We used a population of 36 albino rats of the National Institute of Health (INS), divided into three groups, which were oral dosing 90 mg/kg of clindamycin (Group A, positive control), 90 mg/kg of clindamycin more 75mg/kg of bromelain (Group B, experimental) and 1 ml 0.9% NaCl (Group C, negative control). It was obtained samples of serum and bone tissue one hour after oral doses of drugs by intracardiac puncture and mandibular dissection, respectively. To measure the concentration of clindamycin was used the antibiotic potency method, cylinder-plate. Results: The mean concentration of clindamycin in serum was 1.91 μg/ml in group A and 1.64 μg/ml in group B, while the average concentration of clindamycin in bone was 0.09 μg/g in group A and 0.39 μg/g in group B, these results being statistically significant (P <0.05) for both types of samples. In samples of group C, did not obtain any concentration. Conclusion: We conclude that bromelain decreases serum concentrations of clindamycin and at the same time considerably increases the concentration of the antibiotic bone after its oral administration, demonstrating that bromelain has an action not yet determined on the antibiotic. Grupo PVP-I (D): feridas operatórias lavadas com PVP-I.

Passiflora edulis is a member of the family Passifloraceae. It is populary know in Brazil as maracujá. Two types of P. edulis are grow commercially, the purple form (P. edulis Sims or also P. edulis forma Sims) and a yellow form (P. edulis forma flavicarpa Degener). This species have been used in medicine popular mainly as sedative and tranquilizer. In this work the P. edulis f. flavicarpa was researched. The phytochemical research was performed with the leaves, fruits and roots extracts. Chromatographic analyses on silica gel indicated flavonoids C-glycosides in the leaves and fruits extracts but not in the roots extracts. Fractionation of the leaves methanolic extract resulted in two sub-fractions and allowed the isolation of a C-glycosilflavon, identified on the basis of NMR - 1H e 13C spectral data. The main compounds identified in the sub-fractions were vitexin, isovitexin, orientin and isoorientin. From the dicloromethan fraction of the roots three compounds were isolated. The compound SRI was identified as a triterpenoid on the basis of NMR 1H and 13C, DEPT, HETCOR, COSY and HMBC, the 3 , 16 - diacetoxyurs-12-ene. This is the first report of this compound in Passiflora species. The compoud SRII was identified as sitosterol. Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory activities of the liophylized aqueous extracts obtained from the leaves, pericarp of the mature fruits and roots were evaluted in mouse model of pleurisy induced by carrageenan. The leaves extract (50, 100, 250 e 500 mg/Kg, i.p.), inhibited leukocyte migration. The antiviral potencial activity of the liophylized aqueous and hydroetanolic extracts obtained from the leaves, pericarp of the mature fruits and roots were evaluted. The results showed that the liophylized aqueous roots extract has antiviral activity with selectivity indices (SI=CC50/EC50) varying from 6,21 to 11,8, respectively, against KOS and 29R strains (aciclovir resistant). Further investigations are required to characterize the actives fractions.
