In the last decade cloud computing transformed the way in which we build applications. The boom in cloud computing helped to develop new software design and architecture. Helping the developers to focus more on the business logic than the infrastructure. FaaS (function as a service) compute model it gave developers to concentrate only on the application code and rest of the factors will be taken care by the cloud provider. Here we present a serverless architecture of a web application built using AWS services and provide detail analysis of lambda function and micro service software design implemented using these AWS services.

Abstract: Cloud services are being provided by various giant corporations notably Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and others. In this scenario, we address the most prominent web service provider, which is Amazon Web Services, which comprises the Elastic Compute Cloud functionality. Amazon offers a comprehensive package of computing solutions to let businesses establish dedicated virtual clouds while maintaining complete configuration control over their working environment. An organization needs to interact with several other technologies; however, instead of installing the technologies, the company may just buy the technology available online as a service. Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud Web service, delivers highly customizable computing capacity throughout the cloud, allowing developers to establish applications with high scalability. Explicitly put, an Elastic Compute Cloud is a virtual platform that replicates a physical server on which you may host your applications. Instead of acquiring your own hardware and connecting it to a network, Amazon provides you with almost endless virtual machines to deploy your applications while they control the hardware. This review will focus on the quick overview of the Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute Cloud which also containing the features, pricing, and challenges. Finally, unanswered obstacles, and future research directions in Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute Cloud, are addressed. Este artículo reseñó la computación en la nube y de algunos de sus servicios de almacenamiento en sistemas gestores de bases de datos relacionales y no relacionales ofrecidos por Amazon bajo el modelo de la infraestructura como servicio (IaaS ‘infrastructure as a service’). Se realiza una comparación entre los sistemas tradicionales de almacenamiento en las organizaciones y la infraestructura como servicio, para dar a conocer las ventajas y las desventajas de la adopción de nuevas tecnologías en el ámbito personal, organizacional y académico en cuanto al almacenamiento y procesamiento de la información. Además, se describen los diferentes servicios de bases de datos ofrecidos por Amazon Web Services, los cuales ofrecen el servicio de almacenamiento según las necesidades y las tecnologías que el usuario necesite.

Abstract Semantic analysis of the patent array allows us to solve several modern problems: (1) Clustering of the patent array. This information can be useful for identifying patent trends, key modern technologies, and predicting the demand for technologies in the future period; (2) Automation of the work of the patent office expert. Based on a full-text query (the text of a patent application), a search for analogous patents can be performed. This study describes a developed software that provides the possibility of clustering the patent array (topic modeling), identifying groups of related patents (not based on patent classification but on the basis of key terms/phrases extracted from the texts), and a search for patents using AWS technologies.

Background NGScloud was a bioinformatic system developed to perform de novo RNAseq analysis of non-model species by exploiting the cloud computing capabilities of Amazon Web Services. The rapid changes undergone in the way this cloud computing service operates, along with the continuous release of novel bioinformatic applications to analyze next generation sequencing data, have made the software obsolete. NGScloud2 is an enhanced and expanded version of NGScloud that permits the access to ad hoc cloud computing infrastructure, scaled according to the complexity of each experiment. Methods NGScloud2 presents major technical improvements, such as the possibility of running spot instances and the most updated AWS instances types, that can lead to significant cost savings. As compared to its initial implementation, this improved version updates and includes common applications for de novo RNAseq analysis, and incorporates tools to operate workflows of bioinformatic analysis of reference-based RNAseq, RADseq and functional annotation. NGScloud2 optimizes the access to Amazon’s large computing infrastructures to easily run popular bioinformatic software applications, otherwise inaccessible to non-specialized users lacking suitable hardware infrastructures. Results The correct performance of the pipelines for de novo RNAseq, reference-based RNAseq, RADseq and functional annotation was tested with real experimental data, providing workflow performance estimates and tips to make optimal use of NGScloud2. Further, we provide a qualitative comparison of NGScloud2 vs. the Galaxy framework. NGScloud2 code, instructions for software installation and use are available at https://github.com/GGFHF/NGScloud2. NGScloud2 includes a companion package, NGShelper that contains Python utilities to post-process the output of the pipelines for downstream analysis at https://github.com/GGFHF/NGShelper.

Durch die fortschreitende Digitalisierung stehen die Unternehmen in einem immer stärkeren Wettbewerb miteinander und müssen sich auf einem globalen Markt behaupten. Auch der Einsatz neuer Technologien zur Gewinnung unternehmensrelevanter Informationen ist zu einem kritischen Erfolgsfaktor geworden. Klassische Business-Intelligence-Methoden stoßen aufgrund unstrukturierter und komplexerer Datenbestände, wie Social Media oder IoT, immer wieder an ihre Grenzen. Die Trends Big Data und Cloud Computing bieten neue Möglichkeiten, diese Daten zu sammeln, zu analysieren und so nützliche Informationen in einem Wettbewerbs-umfeld zu erhalten. Unternehmen sind daher gezwungen, ihre IT stark zu verändern, um am Markt bestehen zu können. Amazon Web Services bietet eine Cloud-basierte Lösung, um klassische Business-Intelligence-Konzepte und große Datenmengen in einem System zu nutzen. Der Umstieg auf die Amazon Cloud ist jedoch ein großer Schritt und erfordert technologisches Know-how. Es stellen sich neue Herausforderungen und Fragen bzgl. der Sicherheitsaspekte, der Funktionalität sowie der Zuverlässigkeit einer Cloudplattform. Zu diesem Zweck befasst sich diese Arbeit mit der Implementierung von Data-Platform-as-a-Service-Lösungen unter Verwendung des Cloud-Anbieters Amazon Web Services. Sie soll als Werkzeug zur Wissensbildung dienen. Die relevanten Komponenten der Amazon Cloud werden theoretisch beschrieben und in einem Prototyp praktisch dokumentiert. Mit Hilfe eines selbst entwickelten Kriterienkatalogs kann der gesamte Prozess eingeordnet und kritisch bewertet werden. Damit bietet die vorliegende Arbeit einen ersten Anhaltspunkt zur Wissensbildung und ein mögliches Modellierungs-werkzeug für Unternehmen, die einen Wechsel in die Amazon-Cloud planen.

Untuk mendukung usabilitas web portal nya, SWA Media Online menggunakan layanan web hosting Colocation Server dari Wowrack. Layanan Colocation Server dari Wowrack ini memiliki lokasi server fisik atau pusat data di Surabaya, Indonesia. Seiring berjalannya waktu, penggunaan Colocation Server dirasa semakin menghambat perkembangan perusahaan, terbukti dengan melambatnya akses ke web portal swa.co.id. Untuk itu, pada bulan Mei - Juni 2015 SWA Media Online memutuskan berpaling dari Colocation Server ke teknologi cloud terbaru. Pada akhir bulan Juni 2015, SWA Media Online resmi bermigrasi dari colocation ke Amazon Web Services. Dimana server fisik nya berada di Singapura (untuk pelanggan ASEAN). Untuk fitur yang digunakan, hampir sama seperti saat menggunakan colocation yaitu yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan perusahaan. Namun, pada Amazon Web Services memberikan service atau fitur tambahan berupa adanya load balancer, auto scaling, dan bucket atau media penyimpanan. Metodologi yang peneliti terapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah metodologi analisis secara kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan hasil bahwa fitur tambahan yang diberikan Amazon Web Services mampu meningkatkan usabilitas portal dalam segi kemudahan dalam kecepatan akses portal. Kecepatan akses web portal meningkat lebih baik dibandingkan saat menggunakan Colocation Server.

Studies of genomes and transcriptomes are performed using sequencers that read the sequence of nucleotide residues of genomic DNA, RNA, or complementary DNA (cDNA). The analysis consists of an experimental part (obtaining primary data) and bioinformatic processing of primary data. The bioinformatics part is performed with different sets of input parameters. The selection of the optimal values of the parameters, as a rule, requires significant computing power. The article describes a protocol for processing transcriptome data by virtual computers provided by the cloud platform Amazon Web Services (AWS) using the example of the recently emerging technology of long DNA and RNA sequences (Oxford Nanopore Technology). As a result, a virtual machine and instructions for its use have been developed, thus allowing a wide range of molecular biologists to independently process the results obtained using the "Oxford nanopore".

This provides a standardized research environment for all users, and enables perfect reproducibility and compatibility. The secured web-based voting framework is the need of the present time. We propose another secure authentication for the online voting framework by utilizing face recognition and hashing algorithm. A simple verification process is accomplished during the initial registration process via email and phone. The voter is asked to give a unique identification number (UIN) provided by the election authority and face image at the time of main registration. This UIN is converted into a secret key using the SHA algorithm. The face image that is saved in the Amazon web service (AWS) acts as an authentication mechanism which enables people to cast their vote secretly. The voters, who cast numerous votes amid the way toward voting is guaranteed to be counteracted by encrypted UIN. The election organizers can see the election parallelly as the voting is saved in the real-time database. The privacy of the voter is maintained as the details are converted into the key. In this system, an individual can vote from outside of his/her allocated constituency.

Una mayor definición por lo general requiere el procesamiento de imágenes de mayor tamaño, esto trae consigo la necesidad de aumentar la capacidad de cálculo. El presente artículo expone un caso de estudio en el cual se muestra la implementación de una plataforma de bajo costo, sobre la nube de Amazon, para el procesamiento (renderizado) de imágenes y animaciones de forma paralela.

In this era, traditional technologies such as having servers and various kinds of hardware have been abandoned by large companies, which are turning to cloud computing technology. This technology makes it easier for companies to run their business. Of the many cloud computing service providers, Amazon Web Service (AWS) is one of the first and biggest service providers. Problems that occur in the use of cloud computing technology is the provision of access rights in data management. AWS has a service to manage access control for each service, namely Identity and Access Management (IAM). This service seeks to prevent activities that lead to security breaches. The results obtained are in the form of groups that can access AWS services according to the role given. Pada era ini, teknologi tradisional seperti memiliki server dan berbagai macam hardware telah ditinggalkan oleh perusahaan besar, yang beralih pada teknologi cloud computing. Teknologi ini memudahkan perusahaan dalam menjalankan bisnisnya. Dari banyaknya penyedia layanan cloud computing, Amazon Web Service (AWS) adalah salah satu penyedia layanan pertama dan yang terbesar. Masalah-masalah yang terjadi dalam penggunaan teknologi cloud computing adalah pemberian hak akses dalam melakukan manajemen data. AWS memiliki suatu layanan untuk mengatur kendali akses pada setiap layanan yaitu Identity and Access Management (IAM). Layanan ini berupaya mencegah aktivitas yang mengarah pada pelanggaran keamanan. Hasil yang didapatkan berupa group yang dapat mengakses layanan AWS sesuai dengan role yang diberikan.

As Web services become more widely disseminated, tools are needed to help users find and integrate these services. As these services become more available, users and service providers will want to obtain new and value-added services by combining and reconfiguring existing services. We propose novel Web service composition based on a behavior network that selects services automatically through internal and external links with environmental information from sensor and goals. Optimal services are selected at each step, resulting in a globally optimal service sequence for achieving a preset goal. We developed our prototype using Amazon Web services to verify its feasibility. Experimental results comparing rule-based system and user tests demonstrated the potential of the behavior network for Web services applications.

En la presente investigación se parte de la determinación de un problema que se encuentra hoy en día en muchos campos de las organizaciones que se dedican a la investigación, como lo es la Universidad de la Amazonia, en la cual existen grupos de investigación que generan altos volúmenes de información gráfica. Estos fueron tomados como base para realizar un procesamiento inteligente que permita clasificar los tipos de agua en su nivel primario y determinar si se puede llevar esta clasificación a un servicio web desplegado en la nube y consumido desde una aplicación móvil desarrollada para dispositivos con sistema operativo Android.

Jaringan komputer merupakan satu teknologi yang banyak digunakan oleh perusahaan yang berfungsi menghubungkan satu lokasi dengan lokasi yang lainnya. Penggunaan internet sebagai suatu media komunikasi selain sangat bermanfaat untuk perusahaan, namun tetap memiliki kelemahan dalam hal keamanannya. Kendala yang dihadapi yaitu bagaimana mengakses data yang berada dikantor dan menjadikan perangkat karyawan menjadi satu jaringan yang diperlukan untuk testing API tanpa harus datang langsung ke kantor, tentunya dengan tingkat keamanan yang sangat memadai. Solusi yang bisa digunakan untuk masalah tersebut yaitu membangun sebuah sebuah server OpenVPN sebagai tunnel untuk diteraptakan agar dapat membantu karyawan untuk dapat mengakses jaringan kantor atau karyawan lainnya. Dengan mengimplementasikan sistem tersebut testing API pada aplikasi mobile, yang mana berjalan pada komputer local kantor maupun berjalan pada computer client atau karyawan lain

Advantages and disadvantages of using cloud technologies in companies are considered. The programmatic mechanisms for protecting data and users’ resources from an unauthorized access that are given by an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud service provider are analyzed. The basic vulnerabilities which can be present even when effective programmatic methods for cloud resources safety exist are analyzed. Such problems as obsolescence of the access keys, open ports and untuned safety rules, presence of resources which are not in use in a cloud are highlighted. In the article approaches for increasing data protection strength and information security in the AWS cloud are proposed. Development of the framework is proposed, the main functions of this framework is the following: scanning and removing outdated access keys, open ports, resources which are not in use and vulnerable configurations of protection mechanisms in a cloud. For ease of use of the framework, it is supposed to develop scripts for automating the process of its deployment.

To improve efficiency and accuracy of semantic web service composition, a topic maps oriented semantic web service composition policy is proposed. Firstly describes topic maps and web service with ontology, then defines a service composition view to implement service composition mapping. Secondly, a matching dependency for semantic web service is defined, and employ greedy genetic algorithm to optimize the results. Finally, this paper implements the method based Amazon services set and the results show that it is better efficiency than old method.

Cloud computing is one of the paradigms that have undertaken to deliver the utility computing concept. It views computing as a utility similar to water and electricity. We aim in this paper to make an investigation of two highly efficacious Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure (Azure) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) from users’ perspectives the point of view of users. We highlight and compare in depth the features of Azure and AWS from users’ perspectives. The features which we shall focus on include (1) Pricing, (2) Availability, (3) Confidentiality, (4) Secrecy, (5) Tier Account and (6) Service Level Agreement (SLA). The study shows that Azure is more appropriate when considering Pricing and Availability (Error Rate) while AWS is more appropriate when considering Tier account. Our user survey study and its statistical analysis agreed with the arguments made for each of the six comparisons factors.

This paper consists of four major sections: The first section is a literature review of cloud computing and a cost model. The next section focuses on detailed overviews of cloud computing and its levels of services: SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. Major cloud computing providers are introduced, including Amazon Web Services (AWS),<br />Microsoft Azure, and Google App Engine. Finally, case studies of implementing web applications on IaaS and PaaS using AWS, Linode and Google AppEngine are demonstrated. Justifications of running on an IaaS provider (AWS) and running on a PaaS provider (Google AppEngine) are described. The last section discusses costs and technology analysis comparing cloud computing with local managed storage and servers. The total costs of ownership (TCO) of an AWS small instance are significantly<br />lower, but the TCO of a typical 10TB space in Amazon S3 are<br />significantly higher. Since Amazon offers lower storage pricing for huge amounts of data, the TCO might be lower. Readers should do their own analysis on the TCOs.

Numalos Abadi memerlukan penerapan Internet of Things untuk mendapatkan informasi mesin, salah satu informasi mesin yang menjadi fokus utama adalah running hour yang merupakan penjumlahan durasi mesin berjalan. Running hour yang tidak terpantau mengakibatkan penurunan kinerja mesin yang berdampak pada hasil produksi maupun kerusakan mesin. Tidak adanya pemberitahuan dini waktu perawatan mesin mengakibatkan tidak adanya persiapan materi maupun waktu yang merugikan bagi customer. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, dikembangkanlah sebuah solusi berupa sistem monitoring dan laporan mesin untuk mengelola waktu perawatan mesin dan mengurangi potensi kerugian bagi customer. Pengembangan sistem monitor dan laporan mesin diimplementasikan menggunakan Amazon Web Services dalam aplikasi web dan mobile. Dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan aplikasi web dan mobile menggunakan metodologi Waterfall untuk menghasilkan kualitas sistem yang baik dan dokumen pengembangan sistem yang terorganisasi. Pengujian dilakukan secara simulasi dan running hour yang telah melewati batas akan menampilkan indikasi alarm serta notifikasi. Pengujian Black Box yang dilakukan juga menunjukkan secara fungsional aplikasi dapat bekerja dengan baik dan mengeluarkan hasil yang diharapkan.PT Numalos Abadi is a distributor and after-sales service company for machinery, one of which is the Flottweg Z5E decanter. PT. Numalos Abadi required using the Internet of Things to obtain information on the machines it distributes. One of the main focuses is the running hour of a machine which is the number of hours a machine is in operational mode, if not monitored could cause a decrease in machine performance which impacts the production results and machine damage. Due to the absence of a notification Customers often requests sudden maintenance without any preparation. Based on this problem, a solution was developed in the form of a machine Monitoring and Reporting system to manage maintenance time and reduce potential losses. The development of the system is implemented using Amazon Web Services in web and mobile applications. Waterfall methodology is used in this research to produce good system quality and organized system development documents. Testing is done by simulation and running hours that have exceeded the limit will display alarm indications and notifications. Black Box testing shows that functionally the application works and produces the expected results.

Mining online shopping websites with their information will becomes a major important task. Web Mining plays a major important role to mine the details of online websites efficiently. Web mining is the process of data mining that learns without human intervention and mine information obtained from the documents in web and also services. Sentiment categorization and web mining has become a truly significant task recently, with profound business and research impact. Machine learning algorithms and soon after deep learning methods have been the market leaders in sentiment analysis. The advent of capsule networks has been a landmark event in deep learning. It has been truly proficient in image processing. In case of text classification, standalone capsule networks are not optimally suitable. Here, a hybrid BiLSTM-Capsule framework is introduced for sentiment analysis of web texts of reviews from various datasets. In the model beginning, there is a bidirectional LSTM layer after which is an attention layer and a final capsule layer. This review analysis will helps to improve the products from amazon, increase the movie quality. The analysis of outcome depending on MR, IMDB, SST and Amazon datasets indicated the introduced framework performs better than some benchmark deep learning models. Significantly, the BiLSTM-Capsule can put its words in sentimental trend showing the capsules’ attributes without utilizing the linguistic knowledge.

Managing the large volumes of IoT and M2M traffic requires the evaluation of the scalability and reliability for all the components in the end-to-end system. This includes connectivity, mobile network functions, and application or services receiving and processing the data from end devices. Firstly, this paper discusses the design of a containerized IoT and M2M application and the mechanisms for delivering automated scalability and high availability when deploying it in: (1) the edge using balenaCloud; (2) the Amazon Web Services cloud with EC2 instances; and (3) the dedicated Amazon Web Services IoT service. The experiments showed that there are no significant differences between edge and cloud deployments regarding resource consumption. Secondly, the solutions for scaling the 4G/5G network functions and mobile backhaul that provide the connectivity between devices and IoT/M2M applications are analyzed. In this case, the scalability and high availability of the 4G/5G components are provided by Kubernetes. The experiments showed that our proposed scaling algorithm for network slicing managed with SDN guarantees the necessary radio and network resources for end-to-end high availability.
