Avtorica se v prispevku sprašuje, v čem se pravzaprav razlikuje andragoška teorija od prakse razvoja človeških virov (HRD). V ta namen predstavi cilje andragogike in cilje HRD. Razmerje med andragogiko in HRD opredeli s fokusom nadzora nad učenjem. Predstavi posamezne faze andragoškega ciklusa in podrobno opiše, kje lahko govorimo o nadzoru učenca nad lastnim učenjem in kje se je v praksi izkazalo drugače. Prispevek sklene z mislijo, da si andragogika in HRD nista v takšnem nasprotju, kot se zdi na prvi pogled, saj HRD precej upošteva nasvete in spoznanja andragogike.

Resumo:
Prispevek obravnava znanstveno pot enega najvplivnejših slovenskih pedagogov in andragogov, ki je ponudil klasifikacijsko opredelitev pedagogike in andragogike kot znanstvenih ved ter njuno vrednost znotraj sistema vzgoje in izobraževanja »izenačil«. Še več, izobraževanje odraslih je videl kot »dejavnik ocelotenja sistema vzgoje in izobraževanja«. Avtor ugotavlja, da je bil dr. Pediček eden izmed prvih, ki je uvidel (naraščajoči) pomen andragogike za sodobno družbo s teoremom permanentnega izobraževanja in tako anticipiral pojem vseživljenjskost učenja.
