Resumo:

The article deals with unpublished poems by Russian poet and artist Boris Anrep, which are studied in the context of developing the traditions of English romantic epical poems. The research of these poems as evidence of creative dialogue between Anrep and the prophetic poetry of William Blake is proposed. The research considers the epics “Vladimir”, “Creation of the world” and “Creation of man” written by Anrep in the 1900s, before he emigrated from Russia, and are kept in the archive of N. Nedobrovo (Personal collection of the Manuscript Department of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences). The methods of comparative literature studies and those of analysis, synthesis and generalization are used. The idea is substantiated that Anrep, already in his early poetic work, inherits in many respects the poetics and themes of William Blake's prophetic books, which he knew in childhood. The author identifies the commonality in the figurative system of poems Anrep and Blake: the characters are elements, giants, generalized natural phenomena. The gravitation of Anrep to a combination of physiology and philosophy, synthesis of author's inference and mimetic descriptions also testifies to influence of romantic lyre-epics. It is concluded that the early poems of Boris Anrep, as well as his later works (“The Man”, “Fiza”, “Foreword To The Book Of Anrep”), are in many ways an attempt to embody in Russian the principles of English romantic poetry, primarily the prophecies of William Blake. The reception of these poems in the work of the artist Dmitry Stelletsky has been studied. It has been proved that such an example of the reception of English romanticism in general is typical for the culture of the Silver Age, which rediscovered European early romanticism (Poe, Novalis, Hölderlin) and felt it as modern art.

Resumo:

Este estudo objetiva analisar a abordagem das auditorias operacionais (ANOP) realizadas pelo TCE/CE quanto aos métodos e técnicas adotados e à utilização dos princípios da eficiência, economicidade, eficácia e efetividade. Os relatórios das ANOP realizadas pelo TCE/CE, no período de 2008 (ano do primeiro trabalho desenvolvido pelo órgão) a 2017, foram analisados por meio de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados indicam que existe uma predominância na utilização do princípio da eficiência na composição das ANOP do TCE/CE, em detrimento do princípio da economicidade, que é raramente utilizado. Ademais, os métodos de coleta mais empregados nas ANOP são o exame documental, as entrevistas e os questionários, e as técnicas de auditoria mais utilizadas são as análises stakeholder e SWOT.

Pendidikan vokasi menjadi perhatian pemerintah dalam upaya meningkatkan sumber daya manusia agar memiliki keterampilan dan daya saing yang baik. Pendidikan vokasi seperti sekolah menengah kejuruan memiliki program praktik kerja industri (Prakerin) selama 2 bulan untuk memberikan pengalaman kerja dan penerapan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi siswanya. SMK ANCOP melihat adanya kebutuhan pembekalan lebih dalam bagi siswa-siswinya yang mengikuti program praktik kerja industri pada biro perjalanan wisata di Jakarta sekitarnya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan selama 7 hari dan melibatkan program studi Pariwisata, Sistem Informasi dan Manajemen Bisnis Perjalanan (STP Bandung) dengan tujuan memberikan pengayaan materi keterampilan terkait dengan bidang kerja dan meningkatan kemampuan intra dan interpersonal (soft skill). Metode yang digunakan untuk materi keterampilan melalui praktikum di lab komputer untuk penggunaan teknologi informasi seperti Computer Reservation System, penelusuran informasi melalui mesin pencari, praktik pemanduan di TMII sedangkan untuk materi soft skill melalui paparan dan diskusi dalam kelas. Hasil dari kegiatan ini berupa kumpulan tugas mandiri yang dapat memperlihatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan dari masing-masing materi pengayaan dan evaluasi tertulis dari pihak yayasan ANCOP yang menyatakan bahwa siswa-siswi SMK ANCOP dapat menjalankan tugas tanggungjawabnya selama 02 bulan dengan menunjukkan kemampuan bekerja dan mampu berinteraksi dengan rekan kerja dan beradaptasi di lingkungan baru. Manfaat dari program pengayaan ini memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa-siswi SMK ANCOP untuk memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang terkini dalam upaya menghadapi dunia kerja yang kompleks khususnya dibidang perjalanan wisata, dimana tuntutan disiplin, mandiri, inisiatif dan kemampuan beradapatsai menjadi kunci keberhasilan.

ANTop (Adjacent Network Topology) es un protocolo distribuido y descentralizado para redes ad-hoc. Está basado en un hipercubo para el espacio de direccionamiento, donde se asegura la adyacencia de las direcciones de los nodos, lo cual permite que protocolos de ruteo glutones encuentren la ruta óptima. Un mecanismo distribuido, que establece una analogı́a entre los nombres reales y las direcciones de red, es implementado usando tablas distribuidas de hash. En este trabajo nosotros estudiamos los problemas de partición y mezcla, con el fin de completar las funcionalidades de ANTop, y proveer una implementación en sistemas Linux.

Resumo:

Myocardial stretch elicits a rapid increase in developed force, which is mainly caused by an increase in myofilament calcium sensitivity (Frank-Starling mechanism). Over the ensuing 10–15 min, a second gradual increase in force takes place. This slow force response to stretch is known to be the result of an increase in the calcium transient amplitude and constitutes the in vitro equivalent of the Anrep effect described 100 years ago in the intact heart. In the present review, we will update and discuss what is known about the Anrep effect as the mechanical counterpart of autocrine/paracrine mechanisms involved in its genesis. The chain of events triggered by myocardial stretch comprises 1) release of angiotensin II, 2) release of endothelin, 3) activation of the mineralocorticoid receptor, 4) transactivation of the epidermal growth factor receptor, 5) increased formation of mitochondria reactive oxygen species, 6) activation of redox-sensitive kinases upstream myocardial Na+/H+ exchanger (NHE1), 7) NHE1 activation, 8) increase in intracellular Na+ concentration, and 9) increase in Ca2+ transient amplitude through the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger. We will present the experimental evidence supporting each of the signaling steps leading to the Anrep effect and its blunting by silencing NHE1 expression with a specific small hairpin interference RNA injected into the ventricular wall.

ABSTRACTAdherence of bacteria to epithelial cells is an important step in colonization and immune modulation in the large bowel. The aims of this study were to use a three-stage continuous-culture system (CCS) to investigate how environmental factors affect bacterial attachment to Caco-2 cells and modulation of cytokine expression by gut microorganisms, including a probioticBifidobacterium longumstrain, DD2004. The CCS simulated environmental conditions in the proximal large intestine (vessel 1 [V1]) and distal colon (V2 and V3) at two different system retention times (R) within the range of normal colonic transits (20 and 60 h). The model was inoculated with human fecal material, and fluorescencein situhybridization (FISH) was used to characterize microbial populations and to assess bacterial attachment to Caco-2 cells. Real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) was employed to measure cytokine gene expression following challenge with bacteria from different components of the CCS in the presence and absence ofB. longum. At anRof 60 h, bacterial adherence increased from V1 to V3, but this trend was reversed at anRof 20 h. Atopobia were the predominant adherent organisms detected at both system retention times in each culture vessel. Modulation of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and IL-18 gene expression by CCS bacteria was marked at anRof 60 h, while at anRof 20 h, IL-4, IL-10, TGF-β2, IL-1α, and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) were significantly affected. The addition ofB. longumaffected cytokine expression significantly at both retention times. This study demonstrates that environmental determinants regulate the adherence properties of intestinal bacteria and their abilities to regulate cytokine synthesis.

Resumo:

In cat papillary muscles contracting physiologically, increasing the afterload caused a biphasic change in contractility. In response to an increase in afterload, contractility (as measured by peak shortening, peak developed force, or peak dF/dt) initially decreased (antihomeometric autoregulation) over the first few beats and then increased slowly with t1/2 of about 3 min at 30 °C and about 1 min at 37 °C (homeometric autoregulation). The antihomeometric autoregulation is due to decreased active shortening when the afterload is increased, since it also occurs in response to increased afterload in isotonic contractions. The secondary slow increase in contractility is primarily due to the increase in mean diastolic length that occurs as a result of increased afterload. The time course and the magnitude of the biphasic change in contractility are very similar to those observed in response to afterload increase in intact hearts; we suggest that the secondary slow increase in contractility that we observed is a contributory mechanism to homeometric autoregulation (or the Anrep effect), as it is observed in the whole heart.

Resumo:

An increase in coronary perfusion, transversal stretch of the myocardium, increases developed force (Fdev) (Gregg effect) through activation of stretch-activated ion channels (SACs). Lengthening of the muscle, longitudinal stretch of the myocardium, causes an immediate increase in Fdev followed by a slow Fdev increase (Anrep effect). In isometrically contracting perfused papillary muscles of Wistar rats, we investigated whether both effects were based on similar stretch-induced mechanisms by measuring Fdev and intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) after a muscle length increase from 85% to 95% L max (length at which maximal isometric force develops) at low and high coronary perfusion before and after inhibition of SACs with gadolinium (10 μmol/l Gd3+). The increase of Fdev and peak [Ca2+]i by the Gregg effect was of similar magnitude as the Anrep effect (from 3.5 ± 0.8 to 3.9 ± 1.2 mN/mm2 and from 3.0 ± 0.7% to 3.8 ± 0.9% normalized [Ca2+]i, means ± SE). SAC blockade completely blunted the increase of Fdev and peak [Ca2+]i by the Gregg effect; however, it did not affect the Anrep effect. The slow force response, but not the calcium response, was augmented by an increase in coronary perfusion. Therefore, increased coronary perfusion, transversal stretch of the myocardium, and muscle lengthening, longitudinal stretch of the myocardium, increase myocardial contraction in the rat through different stretch-triggered mechanisms.

Resumo:

The heart has two intrinsic mechanisms to enhance contractile strength that compensate for increased mechanical load to help maintain cardiac output. When vascular resistance increases the ventricular chamber initially expands causing an immediate length-dependent increase of contraction force via the Frank-Starling mechanism. Additionally, the stress-dependent Anrep effect slowly increases contraction force that results in the recovery of the chamber volume towards its initial state. The Anrep effect poses a paradox: how can the cardiomyocyte maintain higher contractility even after the cell length has recovered its initial length? Here we propose a surface mechanosensor model that enables the cardiomyocyte to sense different mechanical stresses at the same mechanical strain. The cell-surface mechanosensor is coupled to a mechano-chemo-transduction feedback mechanism involving three elements: surface mechanosensor strain, intracellular Ca2+ transient, and cell strain. We show that in this simple yet general system, contractility autoregulation naturally emerges, enabling the cardiomyocyte to maintain contraction amplitude despite changes in a range of afterloads. These nontrivial model predictions have been experimentally confirmed. Hence, this model provides a new conceptual framework for understanding the contractility autoregulation in cardiomyocytes, which contributes to the heart’s intrinsic adaptivity to mechanical load changes in health and diseases.

Resumo:

O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi propor um modelo de meta-avaliação e aplicá-lo à auditoria de natureza operacional [ANOP] do Tribunal de Contas da União, meta-avaliando seus critérios, padrões, validade e confiabilidade dos procedimentos e resultados das ANOPs. Para tal, delimitaram-se os conceitos de auditoria, avaliação e meta-avaliação. O referencial teórico que sustenta o modelo proposto provém da abordagem metodológica qualitativa e adota estes procedimentos: síntese de categorias da análise de conteúdo; agrupamento dedutivo de critérios Joint Committee e Síntese de Estudos Qualitativos. Conceitua-se meta-avaliação como uma avaliação de outra avaliação, considerando como parâmetros para a análise: metodologia; seleção dos sujeitos; objetivos; critérios e análise dos resultados. Analisaram-se dez auditorias de áreas de atuação do governo. Os resultados demonstram forças das ANOPs, como avaliação do contexto e checagem de características dos programas e fraquezas relacionadas principalmente à aplicação dos métodos e técnicas da auditoria. Conclui-se descrevendo as dificuldades metodológicas para a realização das auditorias e apresentam-se sugestões para melhor aplicação da ANOP do tribunal.

Hintergrund: Bis heute gibt es nur wenige größere randomisiert-kontrollierte Therapiestudien zu Anorexia nervosa (AN), und es fehlt weiterhin eine evidenzbasierte Behandlung der Wahl für diese Störung. Die Beleuchtung der Sicht von Patienten kann daher einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur vorhandenen Evidenz und zur Weiterentwicklung wirksamer Therapieansätze leisten. Die ANTOP-Studie (Anorexia Nervosa Treatment of OutPatients) ist die bisher größte multizentrische randomisiert-kontrollierte Untersuchung weltweit zur ambulanten Psychotherapie bei erwachsenen Patientinnen mit AN. Ziel der Studie war, die Wirksamkeit zweier spezifischer Psychotherapieverfahren, kognitive Verhaltenstherapie (CBT-E) und fokale psychodynamische Psychotherapie (FPT), im Vergleich zur bisher üblichen Standardbehandlung i. S. eines optimierten «Treatment as usual» (TAU-O) zu untersuchen. Rückmeldungen von Patientinnen, die CBT-E erhalten hatten, wurden ausgewertet mit dem Ziel, Informationen zur Akzeptanz und subjektiv erlebten Qualität des verwendeten Therapiemanuals zu erhalten. Methodik: Achtzig Patientinnen wurden mit CBT-E behandelt. Einundsechzig der 72 CBT-E-Patientinnen, die mindestens 50 % der insgesamt 40 Sitzungen erhalten hatten (84,7 %), füllten den Feedbackbogen am Ende der Therapie aus. Der Fragebogen wurde speziell für die ANTOP-Studie entworfen und enthielt 11 offene Fragen. Zum Zeitpunkt der 1-Jahreskatamnese wurde der Feedbackbogen erneut ausgegeben und von 57 Patientinnen (79.2 %) im CBT-E-Arm ausgefüllt. Ergebnisse: Zum Ende der Therapie beurteilte die überwiegende Mehrheit der Patientinnen die Behandlung als subjektiv erfolgreich. Neben essstörungsspezifischen Aspekten schätzten Patientinnen vor allem die Thematisierung von Beziehungen als besonders relevant ein. Zu beiden Messzeitpunkten wurde die manualisierte CBT-E-Behandlung von den Patientinnen als hilfreich erlebt und die Behandlungsdauer als adäquat bewertet. Schlussfolgerung: Neben der Erfassung von Outcome-Parametern, die die Pathologie bei AN widerspiegeln, ist es von zentraler Bedeutung, die subjektive Patientensicht bzgl. der erhaltenen Behandlung zu untersuchen. Dieses Feedback kann zu einem besseren Verständnis der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Patient, Therapeut und Therapie beitragen und dabei mithelfen, vorhandene Behandlungsoptionen zu optimieren.

Resumo:

We recently reported superior right ventricle (RV) performance in response to acute afterload challenge in lambs with a model of congenital heart disease with chronic left-to-right cardiac shunts. Compared with control animals, shunt lambs demonstrated increased contractility because of an enhanced Anrep effect (the slow increase in contractility following myocyte stretch). This advantageous physiological response may reflect preservation of a fetal phenotype, since the RV of shunt lambs remains exposed to increased pressure postnatally. Nitric oxide (NO) production by NO synthase (NOS) is activated by myocyte stretch and is a necessary intermediary of the Anrep response. The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that NO signaling is increased in the RV of fetal lambs compared with controls and shunt lambs have persistence of this fetal pattern. An 8-mm graft was placed between the pulmonary artery and aorta in fetal lambs (shunt). NOS isoform expression, activity, and association with activating cofactors were determined in fetal tissue obtained during late-gestation and in 4-wk-old juvenile shunt and control lambs. We demonstrated increased RNA and protein expression of NOS isoforms and increased total NOS activity in the RV of both shunt and fetal lambs compared with control. We also found increased NOS activation and association with cofactors in shunt and fetal RV compared with control. These data demonstrate preserved fetal NOS phenotype and NO signaling in shunt RV, which may partially explain the mechanism underlying the adaptive response to increased afterload seen in the RV of shunt lambs.

Standardised treatment manuals facilitate therapy planning and enhance comparability for research purposes. Within the Anorexia Nervosa Treatment of Out Patients (ANTOP) study, the largest multisite outpatient intervention trial in anorexia nervosa (AN) to date, manualised enhanced cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT-E) was offered as one treatment modality. The manual consisted of 9 modules, of which Motivation, Nutrition, Formulation and Relapse Prevention were compulsory. Homework worksheets were provided, to ensure the transfer of therapeutic improvements to daily life. This study investigated the use of modules and worksheets in order to explore practice styles of trained therapists in the treatment of AN. This secondary analysis was based on log-sheets (n = 2604) CBT-E therapists completed after each session. Frequencies of modules and worksheets used across all sessions were calculated. Relationships, such as that between use of module and duration of illness, were examined. The most commonly used module was Motivation. In patients with longer illness duration, the module Self Esteem seemed to be particularly important. The worksheet Scales, balancing the pros and cons of AN, was prioritised by therapists. The results underline the importance of motivational work in the treatment of AN, including validating the ambivalence experienced by most AN patients. With increasing duration of illness, resource-oriented elements, such as self esteem stabilisation, should be of focus.

Resumo:

O objetivo do artigo foi analisar a atuação e articulação da sociedade civil na resistência contra a remoção forçada das comunidades em localidades próximas às construções de equipamentos para os megaeventos esportivos. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa descritivo-interpretativa realizada em duas etapas: na primeira, coletaram-se dados nos jornais Folha de S. Paulo e O Estado de S. Paulo (Estadão); e, na segunda, no Portal Popular da Copa e das Olimpíadas. Constatou-se que o processo de remoção forçada de comunidades tem ocorrido em diversas cidades sedes dos megaeventos esportivos, atingindo as camadas sociais menos favorecida da população. A sociedade civil tem se organizado pela Articulação Nacional dos Comitês Populares da Copa (Ancop), que reúne as ações dos comitês populares de cada cidade sede, utilizando diferentes formas de ação na luta contra a violação dos direitos. Os repertórios centrais são ocupações de prédios públicos, práticas de protestos, criação de dossiês, abaixo-assinados e postagens de vídeos em redes sociais.

An experimental study was conducted during 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 at Horticulture Research Station, Mondouri, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Monhanpur, Nadia, West Bengal, India, to evaluate the performance of fourteen different bush type French bean genotypes for seed yield and to study varietal characterization based on plant morphology. The genotypes, studied under this experiment were namely, Abhay, Shillong Local-3, Arjun, Selection-9, Arka Anoop, Arka Komal, Badshah, Anupam, Arka Suvidha, Falguni, Sonali, Local, Victoria and Vaishnavi-264. From overall point of view of the outcome of the experiment, it has been revealed that genotype with relatively bolder seeds with more number of seeds per pod, and higher bearing capacity per plant generally gives higher seed yield. Among the genotypes under study, Arka Suvidha was the best one as it produced the highest seed yield (2180.92 kg/ha) and relatively good plant vigour and fairly high seed vigour index (2944.38). Falguni and Mohanpur Local also can be considered promising once for seed production point of view.

To examine the stimulation-seeking function of hyperactivity in children with ADHD. Antrop and colleagues analyzed the behavior of 30 hyperactive and 30 nonhyperactive children during a waiting situation, either with or without extra stimulation. The behavior was assessed by frequency measures. In their study it was hypothesized that children with ADHD would show a greater decrease in activity in the presence of stimulation than control children. Since confirmation for this hypothesis was only found for 2 of 25 target behaviors, the present re-analysis included other behavioral measures to assess two relationships: first, how hyperactivity varies under fixed time conditions, using measures of duration and intensity of behavior instead of frequency measures, and second, how the perceived duration of waiting time affects behavior. Analysis indicated that children with ADHD showed a greater decrease in behavior in the presence of stimulation for touching objects and movements of trunk, as reported. Further, children who underestimated the waiting period were more apt to seek additional stimulation in its absence than those who overestimated the waiting period.

ABSTRACT Porphyromonas gingivalis is one of the principal organisms associated with adult periodontitis. Bacterial surface proteins such as fimbriae and gingipain hemagglutinin domains have been implicated as adhesins that actuate colonization of epithelium lining the gingival sulcus. We investigated the genetics of P. gingivalis adhesion to monolayers of epithelial cells using wild-type and gingipain mutant strains. These experiments suggested that arginine-specific gingipain (Rgp) catalytic activity modulated adhesion. From the data obtained with rgp mutants, we constructed a working hypothesis predicting that attachment and detachment of P. gingivalis to epithelial cells were mediated by gingipain adhesin and Rgp catalytic domains, respectively. A membrane-based epithelial cell binding assay, used to locate adhesins in extracellular fractions of wild-type and mutant strains, recognized gingipain peptides as adhesins rather than fimbriae. We developed a capture assay that demonstrated the binding of gingipain adhesin peptides to oral epithelial cells. The adherence of fimbrillin to epithelial cells was detected after heat denaturation of cell fractions. The prediction that Rgp catalytic activities mediated detachment was substantiated when the high level of attachment of anrgp mutant was reduced in the presence of wild-type cell fractions that contained gingipain catalytic activities.
