Due to the migration of scientists towards green chemistry, landfilling and incineration will no longer be acceptable options for plastics waste disposal in the future. Consequently new methods for recycling plastics and plastic products such as carpets are being researched. This study serves as a preliminary effort to study the catalytic feedstock recycling of polyolefins, specifically PP and PE, as source for gasoline range fuels, as well as an alternative for plastic waste disposal. This Thesis is concerned with the synthesis of new Fe- and Rucontaining homopolymers and block copolymers and their applications as precursors for the fabrication of catalytically active nanoparticles upon pyrolysis (NPs). The strained sila[l]ferrocenophane (T]-CSH4) Fe(T]-CsH4)SiMeRc has been synthesised. Two different routes for its synthesis Were employed and compared. The compound was polymerised via thermal ringopening polymerisation (ROP), which afforded insoluble polymeric material. Photo controlled ROP. was used to afford narrowly dispersed, high molecular . weight (Mn between 10,000 a

Production of bio-oil from biomass is now becoming best substitute of fossil fuels in the transportation sector. Pyrolysis is one of the most promising route to produce bio-oil from biomass.  However, bio-oil needs to be upgraded due to presence of high percentage of oxygenated compounds. Catalytic fast pyrolysis is a very efficient way to produce and upgrade the bio-oil either it is in-situ or Ex-situ arrangement. This study presents the experimental investigation of fast pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass by ex-situ catalytic upgradation.  The whole process consists of four parts: biomass

In this study the catalytic pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of Turkish coal samples in O2/N2 and O2/CO2 (oxy-fuel conditions) ambient conditions were explored and the evolution of emissions during these tests was investigated using non-isothermal Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TGA) technique combined with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Potassium carbonate (K2CO3), calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), iron (III) oxide (Fe2O3) and iron (III) chloride (FeCl3) were employed as precursors of catalysts to investigate the effects of potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and iron (Fe). Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior<br>Nowadays, one of the major challenges worldwide is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, whose contribution to climatic changes was comproved. The emissions of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossile fuels are the main factor that increases the global warming. Biodiesel is a biodegradable fuel derived from renewable sources that can be obtained by different processes such as pyrolysis, esterification or even transesterification. The pyrolysis reactions refer to the rupture of carbon-carbon binding in hydrocarbons molecules.
