Resumo:

Background Two ongoing phase II clinical trials (RENEW and SYNERGY) have been developed to test the efficacy of anti-LINGO-1 antibodies in acute optic neuritis and relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis, respectively. Across a range of experimental models, LINGO-1 has been found to inhibit neuron and oligodendrocyte survival, axon regeneration, and (re)myelination. The therapeutic effects of anti-LINGO-1 antibodies on optic nerve axonal loss and regeneration have not yet been investigated. Objective In this series of studies we investigate if LINGO-1 antibodies can prevent acute inflammatory axonal loss, and promote axonal regeneration after injury in rodent optic nerves. Methods The effects of anti-LINGO-1 antibody on optic nerve axonal damage were assessed using rodent myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), and its effects on axonal regeneration were assessed in optic nerve crush injury models. Results In the optic nerve, anti-LINGO-1 antibody therapy was associated with improved optic nerve parallel diffusivity measures on MRI in mice with EAE and reduced axonal loss in rat EAE. Both anti-LINGO-1 antibody therapy and the genetic deletion of LINGO-1 reduced nerve crush-induced axonal degeneration and enhanced axonal regeneration. Conclusion These data demonstrate that LINGO-1 blockade is associated with axonal protection and regeneration in the injured optic nerve.

Objective:To evaluate whether the anti-LINGO-1 antibody has immunomodulatory effects.Methods:Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (hPBMCs), rat splenocytes, and rat CD4+ T cells were assessed to determine whether LINGO-1 was expressed and was inducible. Anti-LINGO-1 Li81 (0.1–30 μg/mL) effect on proliferation/cytokine production was assessed in purified rat CD4+ T cells and hPBMCs stimulated with antibodies to CD3 +/– CD28. In humans, the effect of 2 opicinumab (anti-LINGO-1/BIIB033; 30, 60, and 100 mg/kg) or placebo IV administrations was evaluated in RNA from blood and CSF samples taken before and after administration in phase 1 clinical trials; paired samples were assessed for differentially expressed genes by microarray. RNA from human CSF cell pellets was analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR for changes in transcripts representative of cell types, activation markers, and soluble proteins of the adaptive/innate immune systems. ELISA quantitated the levels of CXCL13 protein in human CSF supernatants.Results:LINGO-1 is not expressed in hPBMCs, rat splenocytes, or rat CD4+ T cells; LINGO-1 blockade with Li81 did not affect T-cell proliferation or cytokine production from purified rat CD4+ T cells or hPBMCs. LINGO-1 blockade with opicinumab resulted in neither significant changes in immune system gene expression in blood and CSF, nor changes in CXCL13 CSF protein levels (clinical studies).Conclusions:These data support the hypothesis that LINGO-1 blockade does not affect immune function.Classification of evidence:This study provides Class II evidence that in patients with MS, opicinumab does not have immunomodulatory effects detected by changes in immune gene transcript expression.

Resumo:

LINGO software with many favorable features such as convenient operation, high running speed, wide application and valid result, has been widely used in solving complicated issues in environmental fields in the past a few years. In this paper, three practical examples in environmental monitoring were introduced and resolved by LINGO software, the reliability of the results was verified and the comparison with other methods was given. The results show that, LINGO software is useful to direct funds and resources’ allocation in environmental monitoring, and it is an effective tool to improve economic benefits and obtain better environmental benefits.

The distribution of fertilizers in Central Sulawesi Province has not been efficient due to the large transportation costs in March 2016, the distribution of fertilizers could not go directly to retailers because the distance between regencies was far enough so that fertilizer was sent to distributors before to retailers to minimize costs to be incurred. company. Transhipment problems are in the form of indirect distribution problems because the products sent must go through several stages before reaching the consumer. This study will compare the Vogel Approximation method in previous studies with the completion of linear programming with Lingo software tools. Transportation costs using the Vogel Approximation method in previous studies compared with transportation costs using the Lingo software tool have the same cost of IDR 508,289,000, but there are several different fertilizer distributions. Lingo software simplifies data processing so that the results obtained are more accurate than the Vogel Approximation method. Companies can use lingo software to minimize costs by working effectively and efficiently.

Resumo:

Sarcasm is a manipulative concept that can be utilized in different forms and different senses to express different intentions. Inaam Kachachi makes full use of linguistic and figurative tools to express her sarcastic events and situations. Thus, this paper investigates the linguo-stylistic use of sarcasm in Kachachi’s ‘الحفيدة الامريكية’ (American Granddaughter), focusing on the purposes behind the use of sarcasm in this novel. Twenty extracts have been selected to be lingo- stylistically analyzed in terms of Leech and Short's (2007) model. The paper concludes that Kachachi utilizes lexical, grammatical, and figurative devices to depict her sarcastic events and circumstances.

AbstractLINGO-1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of cerebral ischemia. However, its biological function and underlying molecular mechanism in cerebral ischemia remain to be further defined. In our study, middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MACO/R) mice model and HT22 cell oxygen–glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) were established to simulate the pathological process of cerebral ischemia in vivo and in vitro and to detect the relevant mechanism. We found that LINGO-1 mRNA and protein were upregulated in mice and cell models. Down-regulation LINGO-1 improved the neurological symptoms and reduced pathological changes and the infarct size of the mice after MACO/R. In addition, LINGO-1 interference alleviated apoptosis and promoted cell proliferation in HT22 of OGD/R. Moreover, down-regulation of LINGO-1 proved to inhibit nuclear translocation of p-NF-κB and reduce the expression level of p-JAK2 and p-STAT3. In conclusion, our data suggest that shLINGO-1 attenuated ischemic injury by negatively regulating NF-KB and JAK2/STAT3 pathways, highlighting a novel therapeutic target for ischemic stroke.

This article evaluates the efficiency of the LiLFeS abstract machine by performing parsing tasks with the LinGO English resource grammar. The instruction set of the abstract machine is optimized for efficient processing of definite clause programs and typed feature structures. LiLFeS also supports various tools required for efficient parsing (e.g. efficient copying, a built-in CFG parser) and the constructions of standard Prolog (e.g. cut, assertions, negation as failure). Several parsers and large-scale grammars, including the LinGO grammar, have been implemented in or ported to LiLFeS. Precise empirical results with the LinGO grammar are provided to allow comparison with other systems. The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the LiLFeS abstract machine.

Aplikasi sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan seseorang dalam berbahasa Inggris, Aplikasi yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah aplikasi Duo Lingo . Aplikasi ini dapat di temukan di HP anroid. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris anak di Rumah Pintar Bersama Bukit Lawang. Metode pelaksanaan yang di gunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada anak-anak pada usia 12-15 tahun di Rumah Pintar Bersama yang berada di Bukit Lawang dengan menggunakan metode menyimak dan direct method . jumlah dari peserta dalam pengabdian ini adalah sebanyak 25 orang. Dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan ini anak-anak langsung kita latih untuk menggunakan aplikasi dengan baik. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dibagi menjadi lima bagian, yaitu kegiatan pre-test, eksplorasi, elaborasi, konfirmasi dan post-test. Pada tahap pre-test para peserta mengerjakan soal yang berkaitan dengan penilaian Aplikasi Duo Lingo, pada tahap eksplorasi nara sumber melalukan brainstorming kepada peserta yang berkaitan dengan penilaian berbasis Aplikasi Duo Lingo. Setelah melakukan brainstorming narasumber melakukan kegiatan elaborasi, yaitu penjelasan materi tentang penyusunan instrumen penilaian berbasis Aplikasi Duo Lingo . Pada tahap konfirmasi, peserta pelatihan diarahkan untuk membentuk kelompok dan melakukan diskusi dalam penggunaan aplikasi Duo Lingo. Tahap selanjutnya perwakilan kelompok mempresentasikan hasil diskusi di depan kelompok lainnya. Pada tahap post-test peserta mengerjakan soal yang berkaitan dengan materi pelatihan dengan hasil terdapat peningkatan nilai post-test dengan nilai peningkatan 59,52% dimana hasil rata-rata nilai post-test meningkat menjadi 74,60 dari nilai rata-rata pre-test 44,40 sehingga dapat disimpukan bahwa hasil Pelatihan ini secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan berbahasa Inggris anak-anak di Rumah Pintar Bersama Bukit Lawang

This study aims to solve the real-world multistage assignment problem. The proposed problem is composed of two stages of assignment: (1) different types of trucks are assigned to chicken farms to transport young chickens to egg farms, and (2) chicken farms are assigned to egg farms. Assigning different trucks to the egg farms and different egg farms to the chicken farms generates different costs and consumes different resources. The distance and the idle space in the truck have to be minimized, while constraints such as the minimum number of chickens needed for all egg farms and the longest time that chickens can be in the truck remain. This makes the problem a special case of the multistage assignment (S-MSA) problem. A mathematical model representing the problem was developed and solved to optimality using Lingo v.11 optimization software. Lingo v.11 can solve to optimality only small- and medium-sized test instances. To solve large-sized test instances, the differential evolution (DE) algorithm was designed. An excellent decoding method was developed to increase the search performance of DE. The proposed algorithm was tested with three randomly generated datasets (small, medium, and large test instances) and one real case study. Each dataset is composed of 12 problems, therefore we tested with 37 instances, including the case study. The results show that for small- and medium-sized test instances, DE has 0.03% and 0.05% higher cost than Lingo v.11. For large test instances, DE has 3.52% lower cost than Lingo v.11. Lingo v.11 uses an average computation time of 5.8, 103, and 4320 s for small, medium and large test instances, while DE uses 0.86, 1.68, and 8.79 s, which is, at most, 491 times less than Lingo v.11. Therefore, the proposed heuristics are an effective algorithm that can find a good solution while using less computation time.

ABSTRACT Linear programming is one of the most widely used operational research techniques in practice and is known for being easy to understand. The method in solving linear programming in "Naya Online Shopping" is by the graphical method and compared with LINGO software. The purpose of the completion of linear programming is to optimize the amount of production in obtaining maximum profits. And an optimal solution is obtained, namely a maximum profit of IDR 1,750,000. with 50 bags of "ting-ting bags" to be purchased from agents and many "crown wallets" to be purchased from agents of 100 pieces. From the maximum capacity of the shelter 150 pieces can be maximized by purchasing as many as 50 bags and purchasing 100 pieces of wallet. From the sensitivity test, it can be concluded that each capital increase or reduction of IDR 750,000 will result in a gain or loss of IDR 12,500. Completion of linear programming with research into the operation of graphical methods and LINGO software obtained the same value. Keywords: Linear programming, Operations of graphical method operations, LINGO software, sensitivity test ABSTRAK Linear progamming adalah salah satu teknik riset operasi yang paling banyak dipergunakan dalam praktik dan dikenal karena mudah dipahami. Metode dalam penyelesaian linear progamming pada “Naya Online Shopping” yaitu dengan metode grafik dan dibandingkan dengan software LINGO. Tujuan dari penyelesaian linear progamming ini adalah untuk mengoptimalkan jumlah produksi dalam memperoleh keuntungan maksimal. Dan didapatkan solusi optimal yaitu keuntungan maksimum sebesar Rp1.750.000, dengan banyaknya tas “ting-ting bag” yang akan dibeli dari agen sebanyak 50 buah dan banyaknya dompet “crown wallet” yang akan dibeli dari agen sebanyak 100 buah. Dari kapasitas maksimal penampungan 150 buah dapat dimaksimalkan dengan pembelian tas sebanyak 50 buah dan pembelian dompet 100 buah. Dari uji sensitivitas dihasilkan bahwa setiap penambahan atau pengurangan modal sebesar Rp750.000, maka akan didapatkan keuntungan atau kerugian sebesar Rp12.500,. Penyelesaian linear progamming dengan riset operasi metode grafik dan software LINGO didapatkan hasil yang sama nilainya. Para solução do problema abordado é proposto um modelo matemático que é validado através do software LINGO. Os resultados demonstram que a modelagem proposta em conjunto com o solver desenvolvido em linguagem LINGO são ferramentas importantes e perfeitamente adequadas para o correto tratamento do problema estudado.

This research aimed to solve the economic crop planning problem, considering transportation logistics to maximize the profit from cultivated activities. Income is derived from the selling price and production rate of the plants; costs are due to operating and transportation expenses. Two solving methods are presented: (1) developing a mathematical model and solving it using Lingo v.11, and (2) using three improved Differential Evolution (DE) Algorithms—I-DE-SW, I-DE-CY, and I-DE-KV—which are DE with swap, cyclic moves (CY), and K-variables moves (KV) respectively. The algorithms were tested by 16 test instances, including this case study. The computational results showed that Lingo v.11 and all DE algorithms can find the optimal solution eight out of 16 times. Regarding the remaining test instances, Lingo v.11 was unable to find the optimal solution within 400 h. The results for the DE algorithms were compared with the best solution generated within that time. The DE solutions were 1.196–1.488% better than the best solution generated by Lingo v.11 and used 200 times less computational time. Comparing the three DE algorithms, MDE-KV was the DE that was the most flexible, with the biggest neighborhood structure, and outperformed the other DE algorithms.

Pemrograman linier merupakan salah satu ilmu matematika terapan yang bertujuan untuk mencari nilai optimum dari suatu permasalahan, yang dirumuskan dalam model matematika. Salah satu aplikasinya adalah adalahmencari nilai optimum masalah penugasan (memaksimalkan penempatan tenaga kerja yang sesuai dengan kemampuannyaatau meminimalkan biaya penempatan tenaga kerja). Penyelesaian masalah penugasan bisa dilakukan denganMetode Hungarian. Selain Metode Hungarian, sudah banyak shoftware yang dapat digunakan untuk mengeksekusi masalahpenugasan, salah satu shoftware tersebut adalah LINGO. Kata kunci: metode penugasan, Hungarian, LINGO.

This paper presents an algorithm to solve the multilevel location–allocation problem when sabotage risk is considered (MLLAP-SB). Sabotage risk is the risk that a deliberate act of sabotage will happen in a living area or during the transportation of a vehicle. This can change the way decisions are made about the transportation problem when it is considered. The mathematical model of the MLLAP-SB is first presented and solved to optimality by using Lingo v. 11 optimization software, but it can solve only small numbers of test instances. Second, two heuristics are presented to solve large numbers of test instances that Lingo cannot solve to optimality within a reasonable time. The original differential evolution (DE) algorithm and the extended version of DE—the modified differential evolution (MDE) algorithm—are presented to solve the MLLAP-SB. From the computational result, when solving small numbers of test instances in which Lingo is able to find the optimality, DE and MDE are able to find a 100% optimal solution while requiring much lower computational time. Lingo uses an average 96,156.67 s to solve the problem, while DE and MDE use only 104 and 90 s, respectively. Solving large numbers of test instances where Lingo cannot solve the problem, MDE outperformed DE, as it found a 100% better solution than DE. MDE has an average 0.404% lower cost than DE when using a computational time of 90 min. The difference in cost between MDE and DE changes from 0.08% when using 10 min to 0.54% when using 100 min computational time. The computational result also explicitly shows that when sabotage risk is integrated into the method of solving the problem, it can reduce the average total cost from 32,772,361 baht to 30,652,360 baht, corresponding to a 9.61% reduction.

The LinGO grammar consists of a specification of a type system and of various typed feature structures which are well-formed according to the type system. The typed feature structures function as grammar rules, lexical rules and lexical entries. There are several variant typed feature structure formalisms, with different computational properties, so in this appendix we very briefly specify the version assumed by the LinGO grammar.This appendix is necessarily terse, and is only intended to allow a reader who already has a knowledge of typed feature structures to understand the specific formalism used in the LinGO grammar. The definitions given below basically follow Carpenter (1992), with the notion of type constraint from Copestake (1992). For formal details of typed feature structures in general see Carpenter (1992). A detailed account of the specific assumptions made here is given in Copestake (1999) (See Chapter 4 for an introduction, and Chapter 5 for a semi-formal account.)Note that the LinGO grammar uses a very restricted formalism. For instance, it does not utilize disjunctive feature structures, negation, implication, inequalities, defaults, set-valued features, extensionality or relational constraints. Constraint resolution does not require that every type be made maximally specific, and the type inference system is essentially non-recursive. The recursive power necessary in grammars is explicitly encoded via rules, which are expressed as typed feature structures, but interpreted as phrase structure rules.

This paper aims to solve the location and routing problem (LRP) in the agricultural sector with the objective function of fuel cost minimization. Many farmers may have problems when transporting and selling products because of high costs and unfair prices. The proper location of standardized procurement centers and suitable routes will relieve farmers’ problems. This paper includes a realistic constraint that a farm can be visited to collect product more than once. A mathematical model was formulated to be solved by Lingo software, but when the problem size was larger, Lingo was unable to solve the problem within a reasonable processing time. The variable neighborhood strategy adaptive search (VaNSAS) is proposed to solve this LRP. The main contributions of this paper are a real case study problem and the first introduction of VaNSAS. Furthermore, the different combinations of the solution approach are proposed to prove which combination is the best algorithm. The computational results show that VaNSAS can find the solutions for all problem sizes in much less processing time compared to Lingo. In medium and large-sized instances, the VaNSAS can reduce processing times by 99.91% and 99.86%, respectively, from solutions obtained by Lingo. Finally, the proposed VaNSAS has been deployed in a case study problem to decide the best locations and transportation routes with the lowest fuel cost.

Resumo:

Based on the application in the system optimization of environmental problem, the solution procedures of dynamic programming are introduced. Combining with some typical problems, such as the shortest path problem, the optimum scheme problem of water treatment and the water resources allocation problem, reliability analyses of the solution procedures by LINGO software is processed. The results show that the LINGO software can effectively solve this kind of dynamic programming problem and is the effective tool to solve the environmental problems and resource problems.

After an acute central nervous system injury, axonal regeneration is limited as the result of a lack of neuronal intrinsic competence and the presence of extrinsic inhibitory signals. The injury fragments the myelin neuronal insulating layer, releasing extrinsic inhibitory molecules to signal through the neuronal membrane–bound Nogo receptor (NgR) complex. In this paper, we show that a neuronal transcriptional pathway can interfere with extrinsic inhibitory myelin-dependent signaling, thereby promoting neurite outgrowth. Specifically, retinoic acid (RA), acting through the RA receptor β (RAR-β), inhibited myelin-activated NgR signaling through the transcriptional repression of the NgR complex member Lingo-1. We show that suppression of Lingo-1 was required for RA–RAR-β to counteract extrinsic inhibition of neurite outgrowth. Furthermore, we confirm in vivo that RA treatment after a dorsal column overhemisection injury inhibited Lingo-1 expression, specifically through RAR-β. Our findings identify a novel link between RA–RAR-β–dependent proaxonal outgrowth and inhibitory NgR complex–dependent signaling, potentially allowing for the development of molecular strategies to enhance axonal regeneration after a central nervous system injury.

This paper addresses a little piece of a lot more extensive undertaking looking at the connections between working class and migrant writing which will frame a piece of my thesis. I will discuss the employments of lingo, class struggle and interesting differences in these books from the 1950s – John Braine’s Room At the Top (1957), Alan Sillitoe’s Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1958) and Sam Selvon’s The Lonely Londoners (1956). I’ll begin with reference to a novel from the very period that maintains a strategic distance from broad utilization of tongue, prior to going to how these creators use vernacular and standard English alongside one another, just as set against one another, prior to getting done with an endeavor to historicize their employments of lingo. English the most prevalent language of the world has evolved with times influenced by German about 30%, Latin 30%, French 25%, Greek 5% and other languages about 10%. Surprisingly London alone has 300 other different languages spoken and they all influence add to the further development of Lingo and communication.
