Male growth is best described by a von Bertalanffy growth model and female growth by a logistic growth model. This sexual dimorphism is correlated with greater relative surface activity and lower survivorship of juvenile males when compared to juvenile females. The work is devoted to the specific features of the description of animals in the work of Abu Usman al-Jahiz “Kitab Al-Hayawan” on the example of chapters on lizards in the light of their comparison with ancient treatises. The raised problem concerns the degree of borrowing of the ancient heritage by Arabic literature. The article defines the similarities and differences between the treatise “Kitab al-Hayawan” and its potential prototypes “Physiologist” and “Book of Animals” by Aristotle on the example of chapters on lizards. The fence lizard and fire ant ecological system provides an excellent real-world case study for students to examine the impacts of nuisance introduced species on native organisms, with particular emphasis on the topic of adaptation. In this exercise, students are tasked with making predictions, analyzing real scientific data, and applying critical-thinking strategies to interpret their results. A reflection component at the end of the exercise involves the creation of a concept map to synthesize and integrate ideas from the lesson within the broader context of natural selection.

แย้ หรือ Butterfly lizard เป็นสัตว์เลื้อยคลานจำพวกกิ้งก่าที่มีความสำคัญในระบบนิเวศ ปัจจุบัน การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพแวดล้อมและถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัย และการล่าโดยมนุษย์ ส่งผลให้ประชากรแย้ในธรรมชาติมีจำนวนลดลง จึงได้มีการอนุรักษ์โดยนำแย้พ่อพันธุ์-แม่พันธุ์มาเพาะเลี้ยง และปล่อยคืนสู่ธรรมชาติ หนึ่งในพื้นที่ ๆ มีการนำแย้มาปล่อยเพื่อเพิ่มจำนวนในธรรมชาติคือ เกาะแสมสาร อำเภอสัตหีบ จังหวัดชลบุรี ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่โครงการอนุรักษ์พันธุกรรมพืช อันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี และแย้ที่นำมาปล่อยเป็นหนึ่งในสี่สายพันธุ์ที่พบในประเทศไทยคือ ชนิด Leiolepis belliana หรือ แย้ผีเสื้อ (Common
