Texto completo da fontePedagogy has been blamed of silence and superficiality on the relationship between mafias and education; however, nowadays we are facing a spreading of interest among civil society and institution around educational projects. This research aims to contribute to the pedagogical debate around possible directions to support the civil society response to the problems of mafias. First of all, it deepens different theoretical framework (sociological, criminological, historical, law) and compares the different evolution of mafias (Cosa nostra, camorra, 'ndrangheta in the italian and international context, but also yakuza, triads, and italo-american mafia). The aim is to keep a wide and deep perspective of the problem of mafias in the globalized era. From this analysis emerges the importance of comprehension not only of the pervasiveness of the phenomenon but also the permeability of the contexts and the convergence with inauthentic lifestyles which are connected with consumption, utilitarianism, anthropocentrism and disengagement. Considering this, the research address to understand the evolution of political-institutional and civil initiatives. The importance of education has increased since the '80s, when the law enforcement agents have started to be murdered. To comprehend possible educational goals, the research analyzes different projects, which are narrated through the documentation, interviews and surveys of actors involved and it confronts them with the pedagogical reflections on citizenship and legality. Listening to the relatives of victims, working on the land confiscated to mafiosi and turned into social land trust or social projects, restoring and taking care of public spaces and goods, trying new way of social living: these practices allow us to open the horizon to the utopy of the civilization of empathy if we engage in the development of the ability to comprehend reality and the reasons of the other and to nurture the art of resistence, in the sign of empathy.

In the first one, through an historical-critical reconstruction of Antonio Banfi’s mindset, I have tried to focus on the main concepts of the critical and antidogmatical effort at the base of his critical rationalism. That is: the concepts of critical reason, experience and transcendental. Special attention has then been paid to what is defined as Banfi’s “Marxist turn” and how it has related to his critical rationalism, a true theoretical platform of pedagogical propblematicism. In other words, I have tried to understand whether, and to what extent, his adhesion to Marxism and historical materialism implies a waiver to the concept of transcendental, that has given a clear and definite antidogmatic touch to his critical rationalism, or we can suppose, instead, a possible integration of the transcendental perspective with Banfi’s new idea of historical development. In the second part of my research project, I have tried to analyze, on the one hand, the “topicality” and validity of Marxian speculation to face the dimensional crisis investing people and society as a whole, and, on the other hand, its “outdatedness” (in Banfi’s and problematicistic meaning), intended as his mindset’s irreducibility and reaction against dominant trends of the present and ability to be an alternative social and educational model to the rampant neo-liberal model. Finally, through a critical comparison with the concept of alienation suggested by the German philosopher Rahel Jaeggi, some of the main theoretical concepts of pedagogical problematicism have been analyzed, such as the topic of freedom, identity, authentic existence and existential planning.

Texto completo da fonteThe purpose of this PhD thesis is to examine in a pedagogical vision the transition period of the crisis of classical and philological humanism through the arrival and obsolescence of human sciences, up to the current current system which is called by many a kind of post humanism. This transition brings a new kind of pedagogical theorizing, from the context and frame in the sense of humanism to the context and frame of the sense of post humanism. This thesis signals the passage from a supporting framework which is modeled on philosophy to a framework which is based on techno-biology and neurobiology, passing through the crisis of the so-called human sciences. Along the way, the theorietical inquiry is centered on the bipolarization of humanism/post humanism. Such dialectic radicalization is represented, within the philosophical horizon, by the development of positions such as that of Jacques Martin(philosophical humanist) and of Peter Sloterdijk (post humanism philosopher). The form of the theoretical approach is developed through a critical analysis of the current biological and techno-biological paradigm represented by positions such as those of Edoardo Boncinelli and Giacomo Rizzolatti, who seek their supporting frameworks in biology, as the latest of the human sciences. Texto completo da fonteThis PhD thesis, titled “Skin color discrimination in primary school. Intercultural education and antiracism”, wants to continue a previous study started between 2013 and 2016. In this study, I analyzed colorism as a phenomenon among children, with specific attention to gender studies. This is an empirical study which started from a very detailed bibliography review, especially related to US’ colorism. Then I move to some Italian studies who focused on the intersection between intercultural education, racism and antiracism. Starting from this theoretical framework I started my empirical research in two very different Italian schools, in Bologna (Emilia-Romagna) and Catania (Sicily). I choose these schools because they both defined themselves as interculturally involved. In this sense, I wanted to understand if they included some antiracist goals in their projects. Using a qualitative methodology, I realized some focus groups with children (78 children) and some interviews with teachers (20 teachers). Indeed, I analyze all the documental material related to these intercultural projects.

Texto completo da fonteThis research came from the issue of how to identify suitable strategies for the affirmation of a development culture sustainable for the environment and respectful of a person's dignity, strategies that are in contrast with neoliberal logic and instead are able to value differences and take charge of the problems people face during their lives. The central theme is work, an aspect that is decisive for the conditions of social belonging and the value of human resources. This research takes into account the studies about the reality we are immersed in, a reality characterized by the liberal thought dominant at a global scale in recent decades leading to a conception of social relationships based on an exasperated competitiveness and exclusion of anyone not in line with the laws of the market: the dramatic consequences of the liberal swindle; reducing people to consumers; the escape from the community and refuge in separate identities; the era of risk, fear and separation between ethics and business. In contrast, this research also takes into account studies from a research prospective that introduce an inclusive and humanizing development: the prospects of decline; social business; a Christian path towards a just economy; the promotion of the capacity of human resources. This research then examines the connections with the ongoing experiences in the territory of Bologna that promote opportunities for a community welfare through a collaboration between institutions, intermediary organizations and citizens: the introduction of social clauses in public contracts for the professional fulfilment of the disadvantaged; the promotion of corporate social responsibility for social-labour inclusion; the resource value of people living through a prison experience. Although these are limited experiences, they can constitute a cultural and operative reference point for a possible developmental model that can suit everyone and remain compatible with humanizing and environmental limits.
