La pregunta por la particularidad del padecer femenino y su referencia al campo de lo materno surge a partir del trabajo clínico con pacientes mujeres, en diversos contextos institucionales y frente a una multiplicidad de problemáticas clínicas. Es en la persistencia de la referencia a la madre en el discurso de las pacientes mujeres, principalmente quejas y reproches, y en la recurrencia de casos en que la maternidad resulta ser conflictiva y provoca malestar y sufrimiento, que comienza a instalarse la pregunta respecto a lo femenino y a su vínculo con lo materno. Si bien en distintos casos de pacientes mujeres la asociación entre su padecer y el vínculo con la madre, es más o menos directo en tanto es parte del discurso de las pacientes, este vínculo aparece también a partir del padecer desubjetivante de algunas pacientes, en que la referencia al campo de lo materno como lugar de subjetivación se va evidenciando. De modo que la madre no es solo la figura de la madre, que parece en el discurso de las pacientes, la madre encarna también lo materno como campo, registro y función en que la subjetivación tiene lugar (Fliman, 2008) y serán los efectos y avatares de esta subjetivación los que se constatan en el padecer de algunas pacientes mujeres

Texto completo da fonteThe research about children who suffer gender violence in couples (GVC) has increased in recent years. However, there are still many questions regarding the impact of this type of abuse in childhood. In this context, the present study focuses on knowing psychological problems of a group of children who has suffered GVC in Catalonia. Specifically, values the relationship between such damage and the type of manifestations of violence suffered while trying to measure the importance of the role of the mother as a protective factor for children. Finally, the research examines the types of violence they are subjected children in today's contact with the father. The methodology used corresponds to an analytical cross-sectional study in which 13 women who had lived GVC and 15 children participated. The following instruments were used to measure psychopathology and other difficulties in both mothers and children: clinical interview Kiddie-SADS-PL, the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), the General Health Questionnaire of Goldberg (GHQ- 28) and a general information sheet created for this research. In the data analysis some descriptive elements and the use of measures of the effect (d Cohen and Relative Risk) were considered. The study results showed that children victims of GVC had high levels of psychopathological problems and difficulties in other areas of functioning such as social and value-based. It was also found that the presence of problems of psycho-emotional health in mothers, would be associated with the presence of psychopathological consequences, social and value level in children. Particularly noteworthy are the results that provide evidence that abusive parents have abusive behavior toward their children in the spaces of visits. This violence would be associated in children with the acquisition of a role that perpetuates violence and the presence of psychopathology. The results of this study suggest the need for new measures to protect the child victims of violence and suggest measures to assist in the clinical setting for the mother and her children as well as the abuser. Ultimately this study wants to open new questions on the subject, so to make it more visible to the public and clinical level.

Texto completo da fonteThis research seeks to explain and analyze how parents´ participation has improved the learning achievements of fourth grade students of elementary level of the Solaris School in the Arequipa Region during the period 2018-2019, analyzing the spaces of participation and involvement from home and parent-school articulation. Because the father´s and mother´s participation adequately valued and modeled allow continuity and enrich the children´s learning from school to home. The same that are expressed in better learning achievements for boys and girls (Balarin & Cueto 2008; MINEDU 2017; UNESCO 2016). The research also allows knowing how the Solaris School arises from an initiative called “Reference Educational Centers” executed by the N.G.O. Asociación Solaris Perú and having a subsidized economic model, offering educational services to girls, boys and young people at all three levels of basic education: initial (kinder), elementary and high school, under a private model. Located in the northern part of the city of Arequipa, in the human settlement Ciudad de Dios in the Yura district (I.E. Solaris 2007). But after a new model of self-sustainable management, the school embarks on a new way of forming fathers and mothers, going from being a passive actor to being an active actor with the education their children receive. In this sense, the research makes it possible to highlight the public value that the Solaris educational institution has generated, due to the favorable results obtained in the Student Census Assessment during the years 2009-2016. Exploring the educational practices and strategies generated and used by the E.I. since they are publicly valuable contributions to help solve the problem of educational quality in our country. To develop the research, the qualitative methodology is used through the study of the Case of the Solaris School, with a sample determined by criteria of significance and relevance of the units of analysis, these being: 10 parents, 10 students of elementary level, 2 teachers, 1 director, 1 cycle coordinator, 1 advisor and the documentary review of the PEI of the Solaris School. Finally, research has shown that the E.I Solaris has had a positive impact on the educational community, since it has shown evidence of empowered parents by their educational role, prepared to face the learning process along their son or daughter, since they have pedagogical resources that the school has transfer to their home, at the same time they feel supported in their role by their children´s teachers. All this because the E.I. Solaris has developed and implemented strategies and activities that have shaped parental involvement.

Texto completo da fonteLa evidencia empírica con respecto a la importancia que tiene la primera infancia en el desarrollo de niños y niñas se ha hecho más robusta y relevante en los últimos años. Esta investigación estudia la relación existente entre salud mental de las madres y el aprendizaje o desarrollo cognitivo de sus hijos e hijas en Chile. Para este propósito, se usan los datos de la Encuesta Longitudinal de Primera Infancia (ELPI) implementada en los años 2010 y el 2012. Esta encuesta contiene una entrevista y evaluaciones sicológicas a madres y niños. Así, este estudio utiliza dos tests para estrés y aprendizaje, el Parent Stress Index (PSI) y el Test de Aprendizaje y Desarrollo Infantil (TADI) respectivamente. Se encuentra una relación negativa, significativa e importante de 0.21 desviaciones estándar entre ambas. Si bien la literatura está en desarrollo, la evidencia empírica es robusta. No obstante, este estudio no identifica relación causal por lo que debe reconocerse como una investigación de carácter exploratorio.

Texto completo da fonteMothers of children with Asperger’s syndrome tend to experience high levels of parenting stress, even more than most mothers. In addition, their perception of their own parenting competence is usually diminished. Literature review shows an inverse correlation between these processes, which have not been studied in this group of mothers in our society. Taking that into consideration, the current investigation intended to identify if such relation existed and what its nature was. The sample consisted of 33 mothers who answered the Parental Stress Index and the Perceived Parenting Competence Scale (Escala de Competencia Parental Percibida).The results indicated three significant correlations; one inverse and two direct, respectively. First, mothers who felt their relationship with their child was a scarce source of positive reinforcement, felt less competent in offering structure and guidance. Second, mothers of children with less adaptive skills, offered more time and space to talk and solve doubts. Third, mothers of children who presented low expression of positive affects, felt more adapted to the fact of raising a child. Regarding sociodemographic variables, mothers who were divorced or separated reported less parenting ability, more isolation, more depressive symptoms, less support from the father, and less overall parenting competence. Similarly, mothers of an only child reported more isolation, more restriction related to the maternal role, more depressive symptoms, less support from the father, and less adaptation to the fact of being a mother. Results are discussed and interpreted in the light of the low reliability of some sub-scales of the instruments.

Texto completo da fonteThis research explored the mental representations of the mother towards her child as a result of an unplanned pregnancy, from a psychoanalytic perspective and framework. The study was developed under a phenomenological approach, approached from a qualitative research paradigm. 10 cases of mothers aged 21 to 32 years were explored through the collection of information through the use of two instruments, which worked in complementarity: the question guide developed according to Stern's theory (1997); and a semi-structured qualitative interview. The results were analyzed and organized thematically, and revealed that the construction of their representations about motherhood has, for the most part, a pre-elaborated base from the experience they lived with their own mother; thus displaying fantasies of her self-representation as a mother. An important finding so far is the mothers who mostly expressed the desire not to repeat their own upbringing were the ones who recognized that they were doing it. Likewise, it can be observed the largest number of interviewees "do not remember" having had higher expectations or predictions of their own child, so it coincides with the child they see today. The presence that this self-representation has within her own psyche from before conception plays a relevant role in how her own child and her partner will be perceived in the future.

Texto completo da fonteThis research aims to explore the relationship between parent’s attachment representations and that of their preschool children in families from the top socioeconomic level. In order to achieve this purpose, 20 children between the ages of 3 to 5 and 20 parents between the ages of 27 and 51, who were living together, were evaluated using narrative techniques. To obtain the children’s secure-base script, the translated version of Bretherton, Ridgeway and Cassidy’s (1990) Attachment Story Completion Task was used, whereas, in order to evaluate the parent’s attachment representations, Waters and Rodrigues-Doolabh (1998) instrument “Narrativas de apego adulto”, was used. The results show a significant relation between the children´s attachment representations and those of their mothers. Specifically it was found that the mothers´ attachment representations were related to the child´s secure-base script in situations concerning limits and discipline. A significant relation between the children´s attachment representations and those of the fathers´ was not found. On the other hand, no association was found between the socio-demographic variables and the attachment representations of the children and mothers. In the case of the fathers, significant differences in their representations were found if both parents were considered principal caretakers or only the mother.

Texto completo da fonteThe aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of maternal sensitivity in a group of mothers of children diagnosed with cancer. For this purpose we evaluated 12 mothers aged between 22 and 46 years old (M = 34.17, SD = 6.48) of children (8 boys, 4 girls) aged between 41 and 60 months (M = 51.75, SD = 5.61) and diagnosed with cancer in a time between 2 and 12 months diagnosed (M = 7.88, SD = 1.01). We also had a comparative group (Nóblega, in course) of 12 mothers, aged between 25 and 44 years old (M = 33.75, DE = 5.987), of apparently healthy children (8 boys, 5 girls) aged between 45 and 60 months (M=53.75, SD=5.05). The observers used “Maternal Behavior for Preschoolers Q-Set (Posada, Moreno y Richmond 1998 at Posada, Kaloustian, Richmont y Moreno, 2007) and an interview that was based on the conducts that were shown to be more characteristic of their sensitive behavior. The results showed that the mothers of this study present superior levels of contribution to harmonious interaction, secure base support and supervision/monitoring than the group of comparison, but a similar level in the limit setting scale and the global sensitivity to the comparison group. In this way, the presence of child cancer is not necessarily associated to a decrease in the maternal sensitivity.

Texto completo da fonteThe current investigation aims to explore the transgenerational transmition of attachment on mothers and their teenage children with physical disability. In this manner, it seeks to understand how attachment representations are constructed in adolescents with physical disability. Focusing the analysis mainly in the generational transmission, expressed by the narratives of the mothers with the grandmothers, and the impact of the disability diagnose. With this purpose, from a qualitative paradigm, three mother-adolescent-offspring dyads (2 mother-daughter and 1 mother-son) were interviewed, taking the mother as the articulating axis of the transgenerational aspect. The thematic analysis presents three axes: The mother-grandmother relationship, the mother-offspring relationship and the offspring-mother relationship. The results of the study show that the transgenerational transmission in attachment is not determined by the disability itsfelf nor the mothers’ attachmente representacion, it is multideterminated by the interaction of a series of factors displayed in the relational aspect. Also, the possibility of establishing a secure attachment representation for an adolescent with physical disability is mediated by the capacity of his mother to perceive him as an individual with a mind of his own.

Texto completo da fonteThis research aims to describe the relationship between maternal gatekeeping and ambivalent sexismin mothers of preeschool children. In addition, the specific objectives of this study are to compare the reports of mothers and fathers regarding maternal gatekeeping, and compare that variable based on the mother’s work status, the age of children and the presence of younger siblings. Also, for ambivalent sexism, the specific objective is to describe it in relation to the years of study of the mothers and the socioeconomic level of the families. For this, the variables mentioned were measured in 86 mothers, with ages between 21 and 46 years ( M =35.30; SD =5.72), of children who were between 24 and 70 months ( M =43.19; SD =11.56), using the Parental Regulation Inventory (PRI) to measure maternal gatekeeping, and the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory to measure ambivalent sexism. Negative and significant correlations were found in terms of ambivalent sexism, the mothers’ years of study and socioeconomic status, and no significant differences were found regarding gatekeeping according to the characteristics mentioned. Regarding the general objective, a direct and significant correlation was found between gatekeeping criticism behaviors and benevolent sexism, which suggests that, the more a mother presents beenvolent sexism attidues, she would be more critical and controlling of the involvement of the father.

Texto completo da fonteThe main objective of this research is to describe how mother’s relational experiences are set in relation to their children, who have a diagnosis of cancer. For this, a qualitative research was carried out, which included the participation of three women, mother of children with solid tumor cancer, who were staying in a shelter. In a first meeting, a sociodemographic file was used and a semi-structured interview was conducted to explore the history of the disease and its conceptions. In the second session, the interview Paradigm of Relational Anecdotes (RAP; Luborsky, 1998) was applied to identify the Relational Configurations (CRs) existing in the mother-child interaction. The presence of common elements was evidence within the CRs of the participating mother: (a) recurrent affections of guilt, frustration, loneliness and resignation; (b) representations that they had of themselves as “sad and weak”, of their children as “brave, good and mature”, and of cancer as “source of all evil”; (c) explanations about cancer, attributed to external agents but concerning failures in their maternal role; (d) interactions between them and their children, where they were awarded more adults deals; (e) the role of others as a source of support; and (f) the description of situations that involved danger, pain and death. Likewise, through a thematic analysis, it was found that the experience of having a child with cancer is a traumatic experience that reconfigures the entire relational experience of the mother; and that particular sociocultural characteristics of the participants, such as poverty, migration, terrorism and Andean cosmology, expose them to greater vulnerability and complicated the understanding of their experience.

El aumento en la tasa de participación laboral femenina y la implementación de políticas públicas que estimulan este proceso, motiva a preguntarse por sus consecuencias sobre el desarrollo de los niños, pues la salida de la madre del hogar va acompañada de delegar el cuidado del hijo en terceras personas o, en algunos casos, a dejarlo solo durante su ausencia. El objetivo de esta investigación es cuantificar el efecto del trabajo materno sobre el desempeño escolar de sus hijos, medido como el resultado en las pruebas del Sistema de Medición de Calidad de la Educación (SIMCE), aplicadas en cuarto año básico (10 años). Econométricamente, este es un tema poco explorado en nuestro país y, a pesar de los estudios realizados en otros países - principalmente Estados Unidos e Inglaterra-, la pregunta sigue abierta. El trabajo materno podría perjudicar a un niño, pues reduce la cantidad de horas que una madre está con su hijo y puede además disminuir la calidad de dicho tiempo. Por otro lado, el trabajo materno incrementa el ingreso familiar y podría generar un comportamiento en los niños que quizás no se producirían de otra manera, por ejemplo, mayor disponibilidad a esforzarse y mayor disciplina, entre otros. Por lo tanto, el signo del efecto del trabajo materno es ambiguo y podría ser heterogéneo en la población. El principal desafío econométrico que enfrenta esta investigación es el sesgo de selección, consecuencia de que las madres que trabajan son distintas, en características no observables, a las que no lo hacen. Para estimar el efecto del trabajo materno sobre el desarrollo cognitivo de los niños, se utilizaron dos metodologías: Regresiones de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios y Propensity Score Matching. El análisis econométrico permite conocer cuántos puntos más o cuántos puntos menos obtiene en las pruebas SIMCE un niño cuya madre trabaja jornada completa (o jornada parcial) fuera del hogar, en comparación a un niño cuya madre trabaja en el hogar. Además, para capturar la heterogeneidad del efecto del trabajo materno, se investigó si había un impacto diferenciado de acuerdo al género del alumno y las características socioeconómicas de su familia. Los resultados muestran que el efecto del trabajo materno es pequeño y no significativo. Esto no implica necesariamente que el trabajo materno no afecte el aprendizaje de los hijos; más bien, muestra que el efecto del trabajo materno es heterogéneo y de signos contrarios en la población, por lo que en promedio, no se observa ninguna tendencia significativa. La diferencia en los resultados obtenidos para los distintos grupos que se definieron en este trabajo avalan esta hipótesis. En particular, se indagó el efecto del trabajo materno en grupos específicos separando a la población según género del alumno, dependencia de la escuela y nivel socioeconómico de la familia. Si bien aparecen algunas tendencias, como por ejemplo, estimaciones negativas en los varones y positivas en las mujeres (sobre todo en alumnos de bajo nivel socioeconómico), predomina que, económicamente, el efecto del trabajo materno es cero.

Maternal depression, which may be disabling and affect the proper care of children, is associated with chronic malnutrition of their children. In the same way, chronic malnutrition in children is associated with children anemia Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate if there is an association between depressive symptoms of mothers with the presence of anemia in their children. Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study of the Peruvian Demographic Health Survey 2015, which is nationally representative. Depressive symptoms were measured with the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) using a score of 10 as cut-off. The presence of anemia was measured using HemoCue® and was considered positive when hemoglobin was less than 11 g/dL. Crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (PR and aPR) were calculated with 95% confidence intervals, using generalized linear models of the Poisson family. Results: We analyzed 6683 mother-child binomials. The prevalence of anemia in the children was 28.7% [95% CI: 27.3-30.2]. and that of depressive symptoms in the mother of 6.9% [95% CI:6,1-7,9]. We did not find statistically significant association between the two main variables in the bivariate analysis nor in the different multivariate models (RPa: 1.05, 95% CI: 0.85-1.30). Our results show no association between maternal depressive symptoms and anemia in the child. Conclusions: We found no association between maternal depressive symptoms and anemia in their children aged 6 to 59 months in the bivariate, multivariate, scatter plot or stratum analysis. The prevalence of maternal depressive symptoms and anemia in their child remain high in the sample. We suggest to continue the study of this possible association and the multifactorial anemia model with prospective studies.

Texto completo da fonteThis research aims to explore the relationship between secure base behavior and the styles and dimensions of adult attachment in dyads of mothers and their children in preschool years. This was done with a group of 20 mothers between the ages of 19 and 46 (M = 35.40, SD = 6.69), with children aged between 36 and 71 months (M = 55.90, SD = 10.06). The Attachment QSet 3.0 (AQS, Waters, 1995) was used to measure the child's secure base behavior, and the Relationship Questionnaire (RQ, Bartholomew & Horowitz, 1991) was used to measure adult attachment. Thus, moderate and inverse associations were found between the degree of identification of mothers with the preoccupied attachment style and the child's secure base behavior, on the one hand; and with the Pleasure in physical contact with the mother (PCM) scale, on the other. Likewise, a moderate and inverse association was found between the adult attachment anxiety dimension and the PCM scale; as well as a moderate and direct relationship, at the level of marginal significance, between this scale and the avoidance dimension of adult attachment. Based on the specific objectives, a moderate and direct relationship was found between the PCM scale and the presence of stressors suffered by the family in the last month; as well as a direct and moderate association, marginally significant, between the child's age and the scale of Smooth interactions with the mother (CIM).

Texto completo da fonteRealiza el estudio de retrospectivo-prospectivo de casos y controles con hijos de madres adolescentes y de madres no adolescentes respectivamente durante el año 2011 en el servicio de neonatología del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Únanue obteniéndose 1430 neonatos considerados en el análisis descriptivo y para el estudio analítico se tomó 210 casos y 420 controles. En las madres adolescentes el estado civil preponderante fue el de conviviente (65%), el 82% fueron estudiantes, el 70% cursaban estudios secundarios, el CPN en el 62.5%, prematuridad en el 8.8%, el 78% con terminación de la gestación por vía vaginal, la patología más frecuente fue la pre-eclampsia, el bajo peso al nacer de 8.01%, < 1500 con 1.2%, < 1000 con 0.6%, la talla materna promedio de 1.55 cm., peso promedio de 53.6 Kg. Y la edad gestacional promedio de 39 semanas y 4 CPN. El peso promedio del neonato con 3,175 y una talla de 49 perímetro cefálico de 34 cm. El 5% fue GEG y el 12% PEG. El pagar fue similar en ambos grupos. La tasa de mortalidad precoz fue de 9.1 por 1000 nacidos vivos 1.66 veces mayor que las no adolescentes, mientras que la mortalidad tardía fue similar. La desnutrición fetal evaluada mediante el TEST de CANS fue más frecuente en las adolescentes. El análisis multivariado muestra la relación entre la maternidad adolescente con el bajo peso al nacer, la prematuridad, el peso al nacimiento, la unión no estable, el grado de instrucción básico y la mortalidad, estadísticamente significativo en conjunto, más que por separado como se evidencio en los análisis anteriores.

Texto completo da fonteThis investigation explored representations of maternity within a group of first-time mothers in Metropolitan Lima from a psychoanalytic perspective and framework. It was a phenomenological study, approached from a qualitative research paradigm. Eight cases of mothers from 25 to 39 years of age were explored. Information was collected through the use of three different instruments: a diary: ‘My experience of being a mother’; a semi-structured in-depth interview; and a story told based on a drawing of the mother. Results were thematically analyzed and organized, and revealed that the construction of their representations about maternity has its own resonance and processing patterns that are continually being built in a particular way depending on their fantasies, desires, experiences, dreams in relation, to their own maternity, their own mother-child relationship, as well as their own experience as mothers. An important finding is that older mothers expressed a higher level of angst concerning the fear of miscarriage or ill-health of their babies, while fears in younger mothers were related to their ability to guarantee economic and affective support. The presence of their own mothers within their own psyche and their partners’ support also plays a relevant role in this construction.

Texto completo da fonteThe objective of this study was to examine the adaptation process of parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The qualitative research method was used with a phenomenological design. Likewise, a semi-structured interview was conducted for the collection of information and the ABCX Double Model as an analysis strategy, organizing the information in thematic axes. For this investigation, seven parents (five mothers and two fathers) participated, who had a son diagnosed with ASD and who attended a specialized institution. The results reveal that parents of children with ASD present a series of feelings and attitudes towards the diagnosis (e.g., sadness, frustration, uncertainty, stress). However, such feelings were closely related to the opportunities to obtain appropriate professional attention, as well as adequate information regarding the ASD. In addition, the participants highlighted the importance of having sources of social support. It is concluded that the ABCX Double Family Adaptation Model is a useful model to examine this process. Also, it is concluded that it is necessary to provide the population with adequate information regarding the ASD, as well as specialized professional attention. The purpose of this is to facilitate the process of family adaptation and therefore promote the general well-being of people within Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.

Texto completo da fonteThe aim of this study is to assesthe relationship among cancer related stressors (ERE) and parental stress (EP), and to define the rol of the , sense of coherence (SOC) in this relation in mothers of children with leukemia between the ages of six and eleven, from low SES, and that have come from all over the country for their children to be treated at the INEN’s pediatric center. Eighty mothers answered to three questionnaires: Disease Related Stressors (Uncertainty, Healthcare and Communication), developed specifically for the current research; Life Orientation Questionnaire (SOC-13; Antonovsky, 1979); and Parental Stress Index/ Short form (PSI/SF; Abidin, 1995), which measures. Both high frequency and intensity of ERE were found, mainly ERE Uncertainty, as well as high EP scores.On the other hand, statistically significant differences were found by job occupation (ERE Communication) and positive correlation betweentime spent in Limaan mother-child relations problems, together with a negative correlation between ERE Uncertainty and distance from the place of residence. Finally, hierarchical regression analysis show that ERE Healthcare and SOC explain high and low levels, respectively, of EP; meeting SOC an protective role for EP, specially parent-child relationship. It is recommended a model of psychosocial support for mothers of patients with constrained economical resources that came from inside the country, with the aim of reinforcing SOC, developing coping skills and practice positive parenting strategies.

Texto completo da fonteThe current study aims to explore and describe the relationship between maternal sensitivity and child's secure base behavior and the relationship satisfaction in a group of mothers and children of a low socioeconomic status of a district of Lima Metropolitana. For this purpose, 27 mothers were evaluated aged between 21 and 38 years (M = 26.63, DE = 4.42) and their children, aged between 36 and 59 months (M = 43.37, DE = 6.72), using the Maternal Behavior for Preschoolers Q-set (MBPQS; Posada, Kaloustian, Jacobs, Richmond y Moreno, 1998) for maternal sensitivity, the Attachment Q-set (AQS) (Waters, 1995) for secure base behavior, and, the Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS; Hendrick, 1988) for relationship satisfaction. Significant differences were found between the behavior of the mothers and the theoretical criterion for the secure base behavior and for the maternal sensitivity, both variables being very low in contrast with the ideal mean. Also, a positive and significant relationship was found between both constructs. The Proximity-seeking to mother dimension of the AQS was related in a positive way with Contribution to Harmonious Interactions, Safe Base Support and Supervision of the MBPQS. Additionally, the scale Smooth interactions with mother was related in a direct way with Contribution to Harmonious Interactions and Setting limits scales of the MBPQS. On the other hand, the partial correlation analysis was used between secure base behavior and maternal sensitivity, controlling the relationship satisfaction effects and there was a positive and significant relation.

Texto completo da fonteAttachment theory proposed that secure base behavior and maternal sensitivity have biological bases and they are context dependent. Furthermore it proposes that quality of maternal care (sensitivity) organizes child´s attachment. This research analyzed relationship between child's secure base behavior and maternal sensitivity. Previously it described ideals´ characteristics held by professionals and mothers about secure base behavior and sensitivity in order to consider its socio-cultural manifestations. Moreover maternal and child behavior were observed. Participants were (a) 18 professionals working or researching with children and their mothers, (b) 30 mothers between 25 to 45 years (M = 34.97, SD = 5.72). The 30% was not migrant, 26.7% was second-generation migrants and 43.3% was first-generation migrants and (c) 30 children, sons and daughters of mothers participating. They were between 4 and 6 years (M = 61 months, SD = 7.52). The 56.7% of them were male. Attachment Q Set (AQS) and Maternal Behavior for Preschoolers Q Sort (MBPQS) were used to report ideals held by professionals and mothers and to describe children and maternal behavior respectively. Results show that secure base behavior and sensitivity are associated. Also results broadly support its similarities with attachment theory´s proposed and, at the same time, both of them have idiosyncratic manifestations.

Texto completo da fonteEl objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar los efectos del carnero utilizado, del biotipo materno y de la interacción, sobre el peso al nacimiento (PN), ganancia diaria de peso (GDP), peso hasta el destete (PD), y supervivencia hasta el destete (SD) de 330 corderos. Además, se registraron mediciones corporales para analizar su relación con la SD. Los corderos, son el resultado de la inseminación artificial de 192 ovejas híbridas: ¾ Poll Dorset x Corriedale (PDC, n = 47), ¾ Texel x Corriedale (TXC, n = 24), ¾ Finnish Landrace x Corriedale (FLC, n = 24), y F1 Finnish Landrace x Merino Australiano (FLM, n = 97), con semen de 4 carneros de la raza Southdown proporcionalmente representados en las hembras. Los corderos hijos de ovejas PDC tuvieron PN significativamente mayores que los hijos de los demás biotipos en estudio (4,34 vs. 4,14; 3,91; y 3,69 kg; para PDC, TXC, FLC, y FLM, respectivamente). Para las características de crecimiento, estos corderos mostraron las mejores GDP (253 ± 56 g) y el mayor PD (30,94 ± 6,34 kg); en contraste con aquellos provenientes del biotipo materno FLM que mostraron las menores GDP y PD (213 ± 43 g; 26,17 ± 4,88 kg). Las condiciones ambientales, así como el PN tuvieron gran efecto en la SD (P ≤ 0,05). En relación a las mediciones corporales, los hijos de madres del biotipo PDC fueron los que sobresalieron, presentando además el menor peso relativo (6,01 %) respecto al peso vivo de sus madres. Las variaciones en características de crecimiento y SD, muestran la importancia de la correcta selección de reproductores ovinos, y adecuadas prácticas de manejo

Texto completo da fonteThe investigation aimed at establishing a relationship between social competence and problem behaviors in preschoolers’ and the mothers’ sensitivity. Moreover, it evaluates the differences in social competence and problem behavior according to the sex of the child, fraternal variables and assistance to a primary institution. 29 preschool children (M = 45.17 months, DE = 7.46) and their mothers (M = 29.07, DE = 5.01) participated in the study. In order to evaluate the child’s social competence and problem behavior, the Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation Scale (SCBE) was used. Maternal sensitivity was measured using the Maternal Behavior for Preschoolers Q-set. Results show a positive association between social competence and maternal sensitivity only in the group of mothers with sensitivity above mean of previous studies. Additionally, girls scored higher than boys in social competence while boys rated higher in anger-aggression. Also, children who attended a primary institution scored higher in anger-aggression in comparison to those who did not attend a primary institution. More so, a negative association was found between anger-aggression and assistance to a primary institution. Furthermore, a positive association was found between assistance to a primary institution and social competence when considering children who assist for at least twenty months.
