Weeds pose a major challenge to crop productivity, significantly impacting maize (<em>Zea mays</em>&nbsp;L.), which is Nepal&rsquo;s second-most important staple crop. Although attainable yield 5.8 t ha⁻&sup1;, the national average is only 3.15 t ha⁻&sup1;, largely due to issues like weed competition that can lead to yield losses of up to 48%. Sustainable agriculture requires increasing human productivity to meet current needs while preserving the ability of future generations to produce food. One of the keys to achieving this is proper soil management, which includes tillage and appropriate soil improvement measures. One of the significant impacts of tillage on the sustainability of the soil environment is manifested through its impact on the soil itself. This includes soil degradation, pollution of water resources, and the release of greenhouse gases associated with soil processes. The need for sustainable solutions is particularl

The plastic mulch films, which are mostly made from LDPE, are used in order to increase the yields and to prevent the weed growth by covering the top of the soil by leaves or straw in nature. After a period, the mulch films turn into unmanageable quantities of soiled plastic films, which cause an environmental problem. Using degradable mulch films for agricultural purposes can be a solution for the environmental problems caused by the plastic mulch films. In this study, to introduce biodegradability to mulch films, a natural biopolymer starch was used. Before blending, starch was transformed

Abstract The nuts of galvanized fasteners used on bridges are coated with a wax-based lubricant that contains a dye. Once installed, the fasteners are cleaned to remove the wax prior to painting. Cleaning is typically accomplished using a combination of solvents and hand tools, but questions are often raised as to how much residual dye on the surface is acceptable for painting. To gain better insight into this issue, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) commissioned a research project to evaluate the performance of a bridge paint system applied to mechanically galvanized and hot dip
