This creative project produced a Development Plan for the 60-year-old 200+ acre Cascades Park in Bloomington, Indiana. Combining principles of historic preservation with passive forms of unfacilitized recreation provided the framework for the final design concepts. Since national park visitation has been rapidly increasing each year, the National Park Service (NPS) has been struggling to manage their popular parks and control automobile-related problems: urbanization, crowding, emission pollution, and damage to natural resources.
