Background: Ovarian masses are diagnosed in 0.5-1% pregnancies. During pregnancy ovarian cysts can undergo: resolution of the cyst, change of ultrasound pattern, occurrence of ovarian torsion and intra-cystic haemorrhage or rupture. Ovarian masses (esp torsion) is a cause of pain abdomen during pregnancy. The choice of treatment is mainly conservative, provided the patient is asymptomatic. Dilemma in management arises when the patient is symptomatic. Optimal timing for a planned surgery is the second trimester as it is shown to have least neonatal outcome. Introduction. Neonatal ovarian cysts develop in case of hormonal imbalance in the mother-placenta-fetus system. Cystic transformation in the ovary may cause appendage torsion which leads to follicular necrosis and loss of ovarian reserve. Most often, torsion occurs in the utero, but in premature girls- due to the specific hormonal status - the risk of cyst growth and its torsion remains in the postnatal period. Currently, a unified approach to the surgical treatment of neonatal ovarian cysts is absent.Material and methods. In the department of pediatric surgery for malformations in the Perinat

Small bowel obstruction needs to be evaluated and the cause should be found. Once the cause is established, appropriate management is to be carried out after initial resuscitation. Small bowel obstruction can be rarely managed conservatively. Ovarian cysts are commonly found in women. The specter of a possible malignant tumor may influence the decision to intervene rather than the expected management. The etiologies of ovarian masses vary depending on the age of the parturient, and therefore, benign entities such as functional ovarian cysts, benign cystic teratomas, and serous cystadenomas predominate. Introduction: Ovarian cysts constitute an important proportion of abdominal cysts detected in the perinatal period. Here, a case of giant ovarian cyst detected in a female neonate born at 35+4 gestational weeks without antenatal follow-up was presented. Case Presentation: A premature female baby was born with gestational week of 35+4. Her physical examination revealed a distension due to a palpable mass on the left abdomen. Ultrasonography revealed a 73x85 mm cystic mass while magnetic resonance imagination demonstrated that this lesion originated from the left ovary and was not associated wit

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the rate of and risk factors for recurrence ovarian endometrioma after conservative surgery in patients aged 40–49 years. This retrospective, single-center study included 408 women between January 2008 and November 2018. All patients underwent ovarian cyst enucleation, were pathologically diagnosed with ovarian endometrioma and were followed up for ≥ 6 months. Recurrence was defined as a cystic mass with diameter ≥ 2 cm detected by sonography. Recurrence rate after conservative surgery and risk factor of recurrence were analyzed. The median follow

Introduction: Pregnancies with gynecologic complications, such as ovarian cysts, uterine myomas, and placenta accreta, may increase the risk to both mother and fetus. Ovarian cysts, although often benign, can cause complications such as torsion. Uterine myomas are found in 10-20% of pregnancies and have the potential to cause bleeding, premature birth, or fetal position disruption. Placenta accreta, common in patients with a history of caesarean section, requires early diagnosis to prevent massive bleeding. Management involves routine ultrasonography, conservative therapy, and surgery when nec

The incidence of ovarian cancer during pregnancy is low. Most adnexal tumors removed during pregnancy are benign, with ovarian carcinomas found in approximately 1: 10,000–1: 50,000 pregnancies. Literature on this disease is scarce and consists mostly of retrospective studies and case reports. We report the case of a pregnant patient who presented with a primary intestinal-type mucinous adenocarcinoma of the ovary and underwent unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, with no additional surgical or chemotherapy treatment after the histological diagnosis, despite an infiltrative stromal invasion patter

An adnexal mass (mass of the ovary, fallopian tube, or surrounding connective tissues) is a common gynecologic problem. In the United States, it is estimated that there is a 5 to 10% lifetime risk for women undergoing surgery for a suspected ovarian neoplasm. Adnexal masses may be found in females of all ages, from fetuses to older adults, and there are a wide variety of types of masses. Today, the surgical treatment has become more conservative and less invasive; hence, a laparoscopic approach in the presence of benign cysts has become a golden standard. In the past, patients with previous ab

ABSTRACTObjectiveUltrasound‐guided cyst aspiration is a potential treatment for acute adnexal torsion that can be performed in the outpatient setting, offering an alternative to emergency laparoscopic surgery. The objective of this study was to describe our initial experience with aspiration of acutely torted adnexal cysts.MethodsThis was a retrospective single‐center study, in which we identified all patients who underwent ultrasound‐guided cyst aspiration in our center between February 2008 and September 2023. Indications for the procedure were ultrasound diagnosis of adnexal torsion due to
