The evolution of protoplanetary disks is believed to be driven largely by angular momentum transport resulting from magnetized disk winds and turbulent viscosity. The purpose of this thesis is to study a symmetry of string theory known as T-duality. We focus on a particular example establishing the equivalence between a quantized string moving in a circular space of radius R and a dual string moving in a similar space of radius 1/R . We will show that this duality implies that the momentum of the string in one picture becomes the number of times the string is wound around the circle in the dual picture. A number of beyond the standard model (BSM) theories incorporate a specific role for the top quark, resulting in resonances that preferentially decay to t(bar over t) pairs. In this thesis, higher derivative theories are investigated. Ostrogradskian instability of higher derivative theories is examined both at the classical and quantum levels. It is shown that avoiding the instability in nondegenerate higher derivative theories is impossible. Moreover, the degenerate model of relativistic particle with a curvature term is studied as a viable higher derivative theory. Most of the work we present here is not original. Resumo:

Ce travail traite de contributions expérimentales sur les écoulements monophasiques et diphasiques (à bulles) dans une jonction, « bidimensionnel » horizontal « Té ». Ces contributions concernant l'amont, l'aval et le cœur de la jonction (au voisinage de la singularité). Dans un premier temps, nous examinons le cas d'un écoulement monophasique. Dans cet écoulement, la visualisation a joué un rôle important pour déterminer sa direction. The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is perhaps the largest protein complex in the eukaryotic cell, and controls the movement of molecules across the nuclear envelope. The NPC is composed of up to 30 proteins termed nucleoporins (Nups), each grouped in different sub-complexes. The transmembrane ring sub-complex is composed of Nups responsible for anchoring the NPC to the nuclear envelope.
