Changes in tissue elasticity are correlated with certain pathological changes, such as localized stiffening of malignant tumours or diffuse stiffening of liver fibrosis or placenta dysfunction. Previous research into microbial colonies and biofilms shows a significant gap in our current understanding of how bacterial structures develop. A bi-directional digital holographic imaging system is presented that is designed to take images automatically out in the field. The main objective is to acquire sufficient information to be able to estimate the scattering phase function for different type of snowfall. The imaging system consists of a 3D-printed frame and two orthogonal telecentric imaging arms, one in the forward direction and one in the side scattering direction for which the reference arms are directed along different paths. All images are acquired using pulsed visible light.

Although neuroscientists want to observe deeper brain regions to understand neuron activity, the depth region is limited by scattering due to turbid media such as the intact skull. In this paper, we propose imaging through the mouse skull by using single-pixel imaging (SPI). The experimental results indicate the proposed method can see through the intact skull of the mouse.
