The literature has been divided over the question of whether spatial verbs should be subsumed into a single verb class with agreement verbs. Standard and Puerto Rican Spanish has two modifiers, bastante/enough and más/more. These modifiers behave like the Spanish modifier muy/very in that they can modify gradable adjectives. However, these modifiers have an additional property. They are categorically flexible, in that they can combine not only with adjectives but also nouns and verbs. The article explores correlations between motion verbs and head and hands gestures using the RUPEX corpus. The verbs are divided into four groups based on their meanings. Мonological and dialogical parts of the recordings are compared along with the speaker’s role and viewpoint in gestures. The paper deals with a number of characteristics of the secondary imperfectivation of po-perfectives in Russian. The study is based on the analysis of the level of imperfectivability of Russian perfective verbs with the prefix po- compared to a number of other prefixed perfective verb groups (e.g. the verbs with such perfectivizing prefixes as na-, za-, etc.) according to the Dictionary of Russian Language, the Russian National Corpus and the Russian-language Internet (Runet).
