Den andra punkten som analyserats är, varför P4 Västmanlands publik lyssnar på kanalen. Med hjälp av fokusgruppsintervjuer via sociala media Facebook undersöks 15 personer uppdelade i två fokusgrupper: P4s lyssnare och icke lyssnare.
