The accommodations loop shows that time, often thought of as a desirable commodity, can also be used to harm disabled people in the name of inclusion. They look after both the administrative side and, more importantly, the emotional side of ensuring visiting students, including students from other countries, fit primarily into the university accommodation, and also the host culture as a whole. With an increase in the number of foreign students coming to Japan, it has become necessary at hosting universities to employ RAs at university-provided accommodation for non-Japanese students. Dampness-related defects in university accommodations are persistent, particularly in older buildings, due to aging infrastructure, high occupancy rates, and inadequate waterproofing. This study examines the prevalence and causes of dampness in student accommodations by assessing its correlation with climatic factors, including temperature, relative humidity, transmittance, emissivity, and dew point. A three-phase methodology was employed, comprising visual inspection, Building Condition Assessment (BCA), and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). A case study involving five accommodation blocks was c

The main aim of the survey was to generate data on students’ views on the preferred model of accommodation and the hostel facilities at the Kapasa Makasa University Campus in Zambia. Currently, the University offers a unique on-campus accommodation. Unlike the traditional student hostel arrangement in other public Universities in the country where hostel allocation is gender-specific, at the Kapasa Makasa University, the hostels are co-education. It is only the floors that are gender-specific. The possible modification of this arrangement is to go further and make flat-lets co-education.
