The document management system of the IVAC, implemented over a full-text DBMS, is not able to properly register data of film copies filed in each of its records. It neither allows to navigate simultaneously through different types of item. In this paper the causes of the problem are analysed; and it has been designed a procedure involving data extraction, analysis, and conversion to a relational database, which will allow to represent data accurately.
