Since kodo millet is a self-pollinated plant, it is essential to understand the factors that influence the length of the flowering period, pollination behaviour, and seed set in order to improve breeding programme effectiveness and yield stability while also boosting productivity. Kodo millet flowers remain closed because they are cleistogamous in nature. They have tiny florets. Emasculation and artificial hybridization are challenging because pollen is less readily available. There are also only a few sources of information. To get around this, the current inquiry was started. It aims to gath

Structural characteristics of kodo millet (Paspalum scrobiculatum L.) are vital for designing equipment used in handling, transporting, processing, and storing this crop. A study was conducted to determine these characteristics for the DSLM-36-3 variety at a moisture content of 10.99±0.20% (wet basis). The research was carried out at the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering, UAS, Raichur, Karnataka, India, during 2022–23 and 2023–24. Key structural characteristics were measured using standard procedures and instruments. The mean size of kodo millet

Fifty genotypes of Kodo millet were used to study the genetic variability among them for six economic attributes. The genotypic coefficient of variation was high for straw yield. Plant height, 1000-grains weight and straw yield exhibited higher heritability estimates. Straw yield also recorded the highest genetic advance indicating that it is controlled by additive gene action and that phenotypic selection for its improvement will be effective.

Variability and correlations were studied for ten characters in Kodomillet (Paspalum scrobiculatum L.). High heritability and high genetic advance were observed for plant height and days to 50% bloom. Medium heritability and high genetic advance were observed for number of tillers per plant, straw weight, root weight and harvest index indicating that these characters were govemed by additive variance. Total dry matter was correlated positively with root weight and straw weight and negatively with harvest index. Plant yield was positively correlated with earhead weight and harvest index suggest

Mutagenic effectiveness and efficiency of Gamma ray was studied in two genotypes of Kodomillet (Paspalum scrobiculatum L.) viz., CO 3 and TNAU 51. Seeds of the two genotypes were subjected to gamma irradiation at a dose of 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800 Gray .The mortality percentage, lethality and injury in M1 seedlings were found to have linear relationship with the dose of gamma rays. Considering the mortality and mutation frequencies, the dose 500 Gray was found to be highly efficient. Chlorophyll mutants like Albino, Xantha, Chlorina, Striata and Viridis were found to occur in varying proport
