The plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRBs) is an interesting way to promote increased vegetable production. Here, we aimed to isolate, identify, and characterize PGPRBs by using biochemical tests, sequencing of 16S ribossomal DNA, in vitro and screening for indoleacetic acid production. The isolates were identified through VITEK® 2 Compact equipment, which is an automated system. We identified microorganisms such as Alcaligenes faecalis sp. faecalis, Pseudomonas putida, Proteus vulgaris, Providencia rettgeri, Serratia marcescens e Myroides sp. by performing vitek 2 biochemical tests. The present study investigated the application of central composite design in enhanced crude oil remediation using bacterial consortium. The bacterial strains viz. KG-2, SMG-8, NR-3 and OK-6(2) isolated from soil were selected for the crude oil utilization studies. The strains were identified as Pseudomonas stutzeri-KX344913, P. stutzeri-KX289657, Providencia rettgeri-KX289656 and P. rettgeri-KX344914 respectively using 16s rDNA sequence. A total of sixty raw milk samples were collected from (street vendors and shops) from Baghdad city, Iraq. The samples were inoculated into peptone water and, then, subcultured onto McConkey agar and Blood agar. Identification of isolates was confirmed by microscopic examination, cultural characteristic, biochemical tests, Vitek (VITEK®2 system), and Biolog GN substrate reactions followed by 16S rRNA and specific genes sequencing. Of 60 raw cow’s milk samples, Providencia spp. were identified only in 4 samples (6.67%) and P. rettgeri was the most common, 2/4 (50%), followed by P. stuartii and P

In the present study, arsenic tolerant bacteria were isolated and characterized from rhizospheric soil of rice plant growing in the arsenic contaminated area of West Bengal, India. Among 31 bacterial isolates, nine isolates were showed tolerance at higher concentration of arsenate (As V; 20000 mg mL-1). Selected arsenic tolerance bacterial isolates were characterized based on biochemical analysis, partial 16S rDNA gene sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. Results revealed that selected arsenic tolerant bacterial strains were lavished at 370C and neutral pH 7 and showed a positive response for

Enterobacter sakazakii is an opportunistic foodborne pathogen that causes meningitis, enterocolitis, and sepsis, primarily in immunocompromised infants. Previously, it was suggested that stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans, were a vector or reservoir of this pathogen. In our study, by means of a culturing approach combined with 16S rDNA PCR–restriction fragment length polymorphism genotyping and sequencing, we screened 928 individual stable flies collected in Kansas and Florida. Two stable flies (0.2%) were positive for E. sakazakii. In addition, 411 (44%) stable flies carried bacteria-forming r

Halotolerant plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) could not only promote plant growth, but also help in counteracting the detrimental effects of salt stress. In the present study, a total of 76 bacteria were isolated from the rhizosphere, non-rhizospheric soil and endophytes of the halophyte Salsola tetrandra, collected from natural saline soils in Algeria. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rDNA sequence of Gram-negative bacteria (n = 51) identified, showed seventeen representative isolates grouped into four genera (Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Enterobacter, and Providencia). Abstract Freshwater fish are often exposed to threats from anthropogenic or natural origins, such as pathogenic or opportunistic microorganisms responsible for a broad range of severe infections. In this study, we aimed to assess this microbiological threat to fish in an Algerian northwestern dam Sekkak (Tlemcen) by evaluating the diversity of ichtyopathogenic bacteria. In order to determine the water quality, physicochemical analyses of the dam water were carried out in situ. Ichtyopathogenic bacteria were isolated on selective media and identified by API galleries and molecular techniques (P

Evidence of biofilms in human chronic wounds are thought to be responsible for preventing healing in a timely manner. However, biofilm evidence in horse wounds has not yet been documented. Consequently, this study aimed to determine whether biofilms could be detected in wounds, and to investigate the microbiology of chronic wounds in horses. Prior to analysis, wound surfaces were irrigated with 5 mL of sterile saline to remove debris. All wounds were swabbed twice (1 cm2area) using sterile cotton-tipped swabs. In addition to this, 2 tissue biopsies were taken to investigate evidence of biofilm

Background: Multidrug-resistant bacteria can lead to treatment failure, resulting in infectious diseases being transferred through nonpotable water. Aminoglycosides are an important class of antibiotics that are abused in Nigeria. Few studies have investigated aminoglycoside-modifying genes (AMGs) that are likely responsible for resistance in Nigeria bacteria isolates. Therefore, we aimed to characterize AMGs from isolates in drinking water distribution systems (DWDS) in southwestern Nigeria. Methods: Multidrug-resistant bacteria (n = 181) that had been previously characterized by 16S rDNA seq
