One of the requirements for graduating from the undergraduate level for universities in Indonesia is writing a final project or thesis. In order to graduate, of course, it is greatly influenced by the desire and strong spirit of the students and also the guidance of the supervisor. In determining the supervising lecturer, special attention must be paid to the field. Usually the selection of lecturers for thesis supervisors is determined by the study program through a meeting of lecturers in order to determine which lecturers are considered according to the title of the student and in accordance with the research of the supervisor. However, this method is a bit inconvenient and also quite time-consuming considering the number of students is more than a hundred and continues to grow every year. In this study, the thesis supervisor was classified based on the title proposed by the student. The methodology that will be used in this research is the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) methodology whose stages are: Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Preparation, Modeling, Evaluation, and deployment, as well as using Generative Pre-Technology. trained Transformers 3 (GPT-3)

Streszczenie:
Much current debate about undergraduate student research involves a focus on ‘students as partners’ and co-constructors of knowledge (Healey, Flint & Harrington 2014, 2016). This debate reveals interesting tensions between student freedom and the role of structuring frameworks. Undergraduate lecturers and research supervisors might feel we are in a quandary concerning how far we can help manage a balance between supportive frameworks and the independence that student researchers need to develop. Will the use of the Research Skill Development (Willison & O’Regan, 2006/2018) framework and other frameworks at every step of the undergraduate research journey form a constraint, or an essential scaffold? This paper considers frameworks, scaffolds and the need for freedom and creative co-construction of knowledge to enable successful undergraduate research within the context of final year research and writing at undergraduate third year (UK), honours (Australia) or senior/fourth year (US and Canada).

Streszczenie:
Statutory supervision is a system established in 1902 to inspect and regulate midwives practise, in order to protect women. It has developed subsequently to support midwives' practice whilst simultaneously protecting women. Drawing on a range ofliterature sources and topics, the study critically analyses the context in which midwife lecturers practise and evaluates how they make sense of statutory supervision. The theoretical framework for this qualitative study is based on social constructionism and relational autonomy. In order to analyse midwife lecturers' view of their role and experiences ofstatutory supervision in a University setting, the study is divided in two stages. The first stage is a questionnaire surveying the experiences of254 midwife teachers and 11 Local Supervising Authority Midwifery Officers (LSAMO) in England. The second stage involved semi-structured interviews with ten volunteers recruited from the survey. Results were analysed using voice centred relational analysis and framing analysis. Based on the analyses ofthe respondent's experiences, several themes emerged. Individuals define the meaning ofsupport differently which sometimes conflicts with the support available from statutory supervision: statutory supervision predefines who offers the support and cannot guarantee psychological safety. Support skills are essential for all midwives and essential in relationships with colleagues, students and users. Decisions regarding the fitness to practise of a midwife or student midwife should involve and welcome the participation and contribution of users ofthe service to promote greater accountability and openness. A national study should examine new ways ofworking for midwives based in higher education to create meaningful and manageable ways of blending an academic and midwifery identity.

In this brief chapter Ruchi Ram Sahni describes his first job after Government College, Lahore, as Assistant Meteorological Reporter to the Government of India, based first in Calcutta where he was trained, and then in Simla. In Calcutta he attended lectures in Chemistry at the Presidency College in order to work towards an MA degree, and made the acquaintance of men such as Ashutosh Mookerjee, who were later to become prominent figures in Bengal. The chapter follows him to Simla, where he worked under the supervision of Mr H.E. Blanford. Sahni records a great regard for the Englishman’s kindness, contrasting it with the general hierarchical attitude of other Englishmen towards Indians. It is these attitudes that create the ‘trials and struggles’ for Indian officials such as Sahni.

Research supervision is the highest level of teaching for academics. Yet, in many cases, academics are allocated supervision without any formal training. For many supervisors, their supervision approach will be a mirror of what they have experienced themselves at post-graduate levels. Many supervisors consider that this form of teaching is stressful and onerous due to the responsibility placed on it by the Higher Education Institution and the student ultimately. What can be done to support supervisors in their supervisory journey? There is a void in the academic literature on research supervision with scant aids available to the supervisor (Cullen, 2009). Brew and Boud (1995) outline the importance of instructor knowledge; however, supervisors only gain extensive supervisory experience over the years. The aim of this study is to better understand the supervisory process. Data was gathered from 12 lecturers engaged in supervision across various disciplines. Findings indicate that supervisors need to adopt and continually change to differing circumstances and different student personalities while supervising. It is essential that formal supervisory training be provided for all supervisors. The findings from this evaluation are novel and will be beneficial to research supervisors across various disciplines. Keywords: Research Supervision, Multi-Disciplinary, Reflection.

Streszczenie:
Engineering students often miss the connection between mathematics and the engineering disciplines. One solution to this problem is to integrate application examples into the math lectures. However, it is challenging for mathematicians to find adequate applications and to present them in an authentic manner. We describe a concept of integrating application examples through peer teaching: A student who has already completed the mathematics course is involved in the preparation and presentation of such examples. As a result, the examples are very authentic since they are developed and presented by a person knowing the applications, the learners’ motivation is high due to peer teaching, and the new material is high-quality owing to the supervision by the lecturer. Surveys conducted for each application example reveal that the concept is well accepted. The paper describes the steps in the development of application examples of different length and mathematical depth and gives recommendations on how to implement the concept successfully into math lectures.

Streszczenie:
Aim/Purpose: [This Proceedings paper was revised and published in the journal "Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology,"16, 21-40.] The purpose of this paper is to illuminate the learning that happens in assuming a supervisee’s role during the postgraduate study. Background: The facilitators and barriers students encountered while pursuing postgraduate studies, strategies to achieve success in postgraduate studies, and how to decrease attrition rates of students, have been sufficiently explored in literature. However, there is little written about the personal and professional impact on students when they are being supervised to complete their postgraduate studies. Methodology: Autoethnographic method of deep reflection was used to examine the learning that transpired from the supervisee’s perspective. Two lecturers (a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and an Aboriginal Tutor) focused on their postgraduate journeys as supervisees, respectively, with over 30 years of study experience between them, in Australia and abroad. Contribution: Future postgraduate students, researchers, would-be supervisors and experienced supervisors could learn from the reflections of the authors’ postgraduate experiences. Findings: Four themes surfaced, and these were Eureka moments, Critical friend(s), Supervisory relationship, and Transformative learning. The authors highlighted the significance of a supervisory relationship which is key to negotiating the journey with the supervisor. Essential for these students also were insights on finding the path as well as the destination and the transformative aspects that happened as a necessary part of the journey. Conclusion. The postgraduate journey has taught them many lessons, the most profound of which was the change in perspective and attitude in the process of being and becoming. Personal and professional transformative learning did occur. At its deepest level, the authors’ reflections resulted in self-actualization and a rediscovery of their more authentic selves. Recommendations for Practitioners: This article highlights the importance of the supervisory relationship that must be negotiated to ensure the success of the candidate. Reflections of the transformation are recommended to support the students further. Recommendation for Researchers: Quality supervision can make a significant influence on the progress of students. Further research on the supervisory relationship is recommended. Impact on Society: The support in terms of supervision to ensure postgraduate students’ success is essential. Postgraduate students contribute to the human, social, professional, intellectual, and economic capital of universities and nations globally. Future Research: Further reflections of the transformative learning will advance the understanding of the personal and professional changes that occur with postgraduate supervision.

Streszczenie:
While most K-12 students associate the field of “Robotics” with mobile robots, undergraduate and basic graduate level courses in the subject tend to focus on serial link manipulator arms on fixed bases. Senior level “Robotics” course discussed in this paper, emphasize the latter. In the study of serial link manipulator arms, linear algebra, fundamentals of kinematics and dynamics, control systems, trajectory planning, programming languages, robotic sensors (particularly vision) play a dominant role. The abstract mathematical concepts are often difficult for the undergraduate students to fathom. Laboratory demonstration using industrial robotic arms provides some physical insight; however, it is seldom practical to let undergraduate students work on these machines on their own without appropriate supervision. Time constraints associated with credit/contact hours is also a deterrent and a practical reality. A combination of laboratory demonstration and use of software environment such as MATLAB and in particular the “Robotics Toolbox” integrated with the course lectures help convey important ideas related to spatial transformations, forward and inverse kinematics, forward and inverse dynamics, control, robotic vision and programming concepts related to the field of robotics to the undergraduate students in a meaningful framework. The “Robotics Toolbox” allow students to work on simulations of different manipulator arms, as well as create their own. The schematic visualization of the simulations reinforces important concepts covered in course lectures, as well as laboratory demonstration.

Streszczenie:
The 2nd year students of sociology in Faculty of Social Sciences in University of Latvia conducted a study “Attitudes of the residents of the Gauja National Park region towards organic and conventional agriculture” during the spring of 2020, under the supervision of lecturers Renārs Felcis and Jurijs Ņikišins, where ecological attitude index has been made on organic and conventional farming (including 4 statements regarding statements of state action). The aim of the article is to describe the index of ecological attitudes and to identify the latent themes of ecological attitudes about organic and conventional farming to reveal in more detailed hidden similarities of 10 statements about aspects of organic and conventional farming. A type of factor analysis (principal component analysis (further ‒ PCA)) was performed in addition to the descriptive analysis to achieve the aim. In the final analysis, 3 components were proposed, the first of which reflects the ecological habits of purchase, the second ‒ the ecological habits of growing and the third ‒ the individual variables on the importance of the expiration of products. The applicability of the statement scale in future research is suggested for discussion and conclusions.

Streszczenie:
The Chair of Space Technology at TU Berlin continuously develops new satellite technology and software that is verified and used in various missions in orbit. 27 satellites were launched as of 2022. Many of these satellites by far outreach their design lifetime and work until today. At the same time, an increasing number of satellites not only in the academic domain is demanding for qualified operators. Hence, some of the satellites at TU Berlin are not fully operated anymore. To enable an efficient and sustainable use of those satellites, a novel hands-on student-driven project was implemented in order to utilize these aged but functional satellites to train a new generation of satellite operators. In this lecture course, students with various backgrounds are introduced to the basics of satellite operations by student tutors. Using a laboratory model of a CubeSat as a hardware-in-the-loop operations simulation, participants can collect first experiences in the university’s own Mission Control Center (MCC). Besides theoretical and practical foundations of satellite operations they gain skills in managing and coordinating satellite missions. After finishing the basic course in a theoretical and practical operations test, students qualify to participate in the advanced project giving them the opportunity to work with and operate the available satellites in orbit under supervision. Each semester, several interdisciplinary teams conduct experiments such as Earth Observation scenarios or work on related tasks like the improvement of the operations software or Human Factors of satellite operations. The pandemic has posed new challenges to this innovative educational concept, but was also a motivation to find alternative ways to teach satellite operations. The setup of simulated operations in the MCC was transformed into a combined setup of remote access and video conference. In this way, students are enabled to practice satellite operations from home. Theoretical lectures are prepared as screencasts. Further, the advanced project work was transferred to a remote manner. Students planned satellite scenarios from home, which subsequently were conducted by the student tutors, who provided the acquired telemetry data to the participants for analysis. Among the results of the project are several images with the focus on environmental monitoring of Earth, a software update for a satellite and the continuous analysis and documentation of degradation of components that have been in orbit for many years. These achievements do not only provide exciting hands-on classes and new skills to the students but often even contribute to the institution’s research

Streszczenie:
The ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has had an effect on most sectors in the countries affected by Covid-19 cases. Even in the South Pacific region, countries were forced to go under lockdown, flights were cancelled, businesses, schools and universities closed. Similar to most institutes in the region that were forced to close, the University of the South Pacific (USP) cancelled its face-to-face (F2F) studies and instead switched to Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) at all its 14 regional campuses. It is undeniable that teaching using ERT has challenges. However, teaching using ERT at a one-campus university may be easier than teaching at a regional university since it brings with it more challenges due to the geographical distance and the gap in support available at these campuses. USP faced similar challenges since academics could not travel to regional campuses for tutorial support. All support, tutorials and lectures were conducted online using BigBlueButton (BBB) or Zoom. That, in itself led to additional online training of staff and students to better familiarize them with online learning and teaching. Courses offered at USP have used Moodle as its learning management system (LMS) since 2006. ERT during Covid-19 lockdowns meant courses that were offered F2F were switched to online. Switching from F2F, courses to Online mode during lockdowns in 2022 and 2021 did not hinder much with the staff and student preparedness since all courses were on the LMS. The only major change that needed to be introduced was the inclusion of online assessments in these courses. One of the components for online assessment included the introduction of e-proctoring as a system to supervise students attempting online exams to meet the requirements of the accrediting bodies. There are various e-proctoring software that can be used for such supervisions. USP used Proctorio during the recent lockdowns. This paper shares the experience of testing, reviewing and getting students ready for online assessments using e-proctoring, as well as adjusting the LMS to support the online assessment navigation system. The paper additionally discusses the success and challenges faced while using e-proctoring for such online assessments.

Streszczenie:
The GIIP “Interinstitutional and International Research Group on Art, Science and Technology” was certified at CNPq by UNESP in 2010. It is directed by Rosangella Leote and Fernanda Duarte. We have developed investigation that are allocated in six research lines which are coordinated by Brazilian and foreign researchers. We aim to focus on works of art with emerging media where can be observed transductions, at any level, between the three areas that entitle the group, taking into account the contributions of these different fields, in an interdisciplinary way, but prospecting transdisciplinary emergence. This group is linked to the research line “Artistic processes and procedures” of the Post Graduate Program in Arts, (level 5/CAPES), at the Institute of Arts at UNESP (SP/Brazil); the activities take place within the Laboratory of Art, Science and Technology. The dynamic of the work brings together and leads to masters, doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. The participation of undergraduate and graduate students takes place, both by invitation among peers and voluntary adherence, as well as through the role of research guidance for CIs (PIBIC CNPq/UNESP/FAPESP), masters, doctorates (CAPES, FAPESP or without scholarship) and supervision (with or without scholarship, Brazilians or foreigners) of post-docs and co-tutorships, in addition to technical and monitoring activities (scholarship BAAE I and II - UNESP). GIIP brings together 49 people, including permanent researchers, students, technicians or collaborators. The network comprises researchers in National territory (Public IES), and in international territory (through exchange agreements). The group is continually open to the involvement of new researchers, collaborators or listeners, in its weekly meetings, with part of the team presential and another via the internet. Due to the pandemics, all activities are being carried out online. In addition to artistic activities, our intellectual production involves publications, conferences, seminars, lectures, exhibitions, international exchanges agreements, development of assistive interfaces with intellectual property, transference of technology and patent registration (in process at UNESP).One of the important results obtained has been the development of the “Zonas de Compensação/Compensation Zones” extension project, also international. It is a project that opens our results in research that crosses the edge of the University and reaches the non-academic society. There are other extension activities that are developed by GIIP, which we consider to be very well received. GIIP's original lines of research have been changing over time, a symptom of the evolution of investigation. Today they are Creation in Art and Science; Assistive interfaces for the arts: from diffusion to inclusion; Neuroscience for Art - Art for Neuroscience; Visual and special effects in audiovisual and shows; Poetics of space and time; and Art/Education Methodologies for people with disabilities. As the group's research processes involve the collaboration of several Brazilian and foreign universities, interdisciplinary, collaborative and individual projects are developed. They are investigative and/or extensive. The group's synergy impacts the production of its individuals, transforming and expanding their research objects and career paths.
