Повний текст джерелаMorphometry studies the shapes and dimensions of structures. It is essential in forensic medicine and anthropology, particularly for sex identification based on bone structures. This work relies on 2D and 3D Elliptical Fourier Descriptors (EFD) to analyze the contours of the true pelvic and obturator foramen from 300 CT scans, exploring their potential for sex diagnosis.By combining the two anatomical regions in 3D, an accuracy of 89.1% was achieved, compared to 87.5% for the true pelvic alone. Some classification errors (13 women and 22 men) reflect natural variations in morphometric characteristics.The developed software automates volume reorientation and contour segmentation, enabling fast and reliable classification without human intervention, while minimizing potential biases. This approach highlights the strong potential of 3D EFD for advanced morphometric analysis and sex diagnosis
