AbstractSkin incisions for comprehensive study dissection, composite dissection, composite window corridor dissection and comprehensive window dissections are different. Many authors/practical volumes have described skin incisions for comprehensive study dissections. Govard Bidloo (1649–1713) was trained as a surgeon at the Amsterdam Guild of Surgeons, and later in his career, he became a professor of anatomy in The Hague and Leiden. At the end of the 17th century, he performed dissections on the corpses of executed criminals to teach and study anatomy. Based on his findings, he published a magnificent anatomical atlas in 1690, entitled Ontleding des Menschelijken Lichaams ( Dissection of the Human Body). Anatomy is one of the basic subjects of medical science. Medical students gain detailed knowledge of human body by dissecting cadavers. Hence, cadaveric dissection has become an essential tool in teaching and learning anatomy. In anatomy, visualization plays an important role in understanding the spatial orientation of structures. Due to technological advancement and a shortage of cadavers, there is a need to look for various complementary tools which can provide an adequate visualization of bodily structures. She died on the third hospital day. Methods:Autopsy including exploration of neck vessels and neuropathological examination was performed. Postmortem studies included immunostaining for immunoglobulins and fixed complement. Results:Subtotal subintimal dissections of both proximal su

Aortic dissection (AD) is a life-threatening disease, and endovascular repair by stent graft is an effective treatment. Surgery often fails for a variety of reasons, such as aortic arch variation. We present the case of a 27-year-old female with aortic dissection with a rare anatomical aortic arch variation caused by chest trauma. This patient recovered well after endovascular repair. This case report demonstrates endovascular repair can be applied to aortic dissection patients with rare anatomical aortic arch variation.

OBJECTIVEConnections between the insular cortex and the amygdaloid complex have been demonstrated using various techniques. Although functionally well connected, the precise anatomical substrate through which the amygdaloid complex and the insula are wired remains unknown. In 1960, Klingler briefly described the “fasciculus amygdaloinsularis,” a white matter tract connecting the posterior insula with the amygdala. The existence of such a fasciculus seems likely but has not been firmly established, and the reported literature does not include a thorough description and documentation of its anat

INTRODUCTION: Brachial Plexus (BP) surgery are complex due to the difficulty to recognize the anatomical structures. One of the complications reported in 1 to 5% of surgeries is injury to the Thoracic Duct (TD), which results in chylothorax, prolonging the length of hospital stay. One of the main reasons for the occurrence of injuries is surgeons' lack of knowledge about the anatomical relationship. between DT and BP. To date, there are no studies in the literature that study the anatomical relationship between these two structures. METHODS: Anatomical study on fresh cadavers, with a level of

Abstract The left lung usually has an oblique fissure that divides it into superior and inferior lobes. Some variants in the lobar fissure are well known, but the knowledge of certain uncommon variants will enhance our anatomical understanding and proper identification of the bronchopulmonary segments. Several imaging techniques have been used to describe anatomical variations of the lung, but studies that utilize dissections as tools for understanding lobar variations were limited. In this report, we described an incomplete horizontal fissure, bifurcated accessory fissure, incomplete superior

We present a case where the site of penetration was posterosuperior to this. Careful dissection of the neck of a laryngocele sac is important to prevent damage to the neurovascular bundle.

The gluteal region is an important anatomical and clinical area that contains muscles and vital neurovascular bundles. The gluteus maximus is the largest and most powerful muscle in the human body. While there can be some anatomical variations in the gluteus maximus, they are generally minor and do not significantly affect its function; however, its proximity to the sciatic nerve necessitates attention. Hence, a thorough understanding of the gluteal region's anatomy is crucial. In the gluteal region of an adult male cadaver dissection for the postgraduate surgical trainees' regular cadaver dis

Dissection is being reduced–and even removed–from the medical curriculum in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States. Dissection's contribution to the curriculum is too important to be diminished. To understand the human body, students must dissect. To avoid anatomical complications, future surgeons need the knowledge they can gain from dissection. Cadavers reveal the uniqueness of each body and the body's strength and fragility, which cannot be learned from books or computers. Cadavers offer surgical skill-building opportunities and confrontation with death.

AbstractOpen surgery remains the mainstay of treatment for acute type A aortic dissection and should be offered to most patients. However, there are elderly patients in which surgical treatment may be deemed extremely high risk or futile. Endovascular treatment approaches have been applied to a small number of these patients and data are limited to case reports and small series. The application of endovascular therapies to ascending aorta is currently limited by anatomical and technical challenges posed by the dynamic motion of the ascending aorta and the proximity of vital structures to inten
